My sophomore year I made the cheer team. I couldn’t explain how excited I was. It was something I had always wanted to do and now I was finally going to do it. We started practice shortly after tryouts and I got the hang of things so quickly. Though, it was a lot of hard work, I was having so much fun doing it. After a few weeks of practicing cheers and beginner stunts, we started to get ready to learn out completion routine for the upcoming year. It took us about two whole days to learn the material but then we had to keep practicing to perfect it. Again, it was a lot of hard work and dedication but we knew it would pay off. We were improving so fast and it made me and my team felt so accomplished. School then started and summer practices were over. I …show more content…
Well done ladies. Let's give them a round of applause!” The announcer exclaimed.
“OH MY GOSH. YAY!!! Woohoo!!” Is all I could hear for a while. We took second in our first competition of the season and I couldn't be more excited to see what else this team could accomplish. School then started and summer practices were over. I was excited not only for a new school year but a new me. I had so many things to look forward to now. I would get to
It was the summer before 9th grade. I wanted to tryout for the school cheer team. I had been going to the summer workouts and clinics where we were learning the material needed to make the team. Each day as it got closer to tryouts we were working on harder skills and perfecting those.
The excitement and happiness are what we wanted to feel when hopefully lifting up a trophy. We needed to prove that not one person can talk down about us without there being a consequence. Every day for hours we pushed ourselves and each other. We became stronger individually and as a team. It was time for preseason, and this is where we must justify our position in our division. We played in one of the hardest group divisions in the whole country, which was exceptional because that left no room for failure, it just left room for us to
I was a new kid that was on the team this year. I knew a lot of the players on that team, so my family and I talked about me playing there. I was so happy that they said I would be able to! Even know that I was the new kid to this team everyone treated me great, and it was like I already played with them for previous years.
The games were so hype especially freshman year because after I made a shot the crowd would chant “He’s a freshman” over and over.
A couple of months later competition season came and I was so nervous to go out there and perform in front of a lot of people. After the first
Being a Redkin at Chowchilla Union High School was full of great memories with even greater people. All four years at this school were amazing, but senior year was my favorite. When senior year first started I was playing tennis with a team that had a lot of potential. It was my second year playing as the number one singles and at the number one doubles spot with my partner Amy. While season was in progress homecoming was coming up and I was nominated to run for homecoming queen. On the big game day I wore an aqua dress, everyone said I looked like The Little Mermaid, the sprinklers even shot out behind me. I was nervous as well as all the other nominees. After Cooper Seals got called and crowned homecoming queen they announced my name. I
My first cheerleading tryout had been so much more nerve wracking than I would ever think. Around 4 years ago, my friend told me how her cheer team were having tryouts and I should join. Right away I said yes, but I wasn't exactly serious about being a cheerleader. With tryouts just around the corner my friend, Jo, helped teach me some of the basics. I straight away thought i was pro and ready for
For the next two years I continued to learn more and work harder to be a better performer.
With the Christmas tournament aside, we entered the post-season without a loss. We had a plan for each playoff game from districts to regional. We never deviated from the plan, keeping our eye on the target –
overnight; I soaked up knowledge and experience like a sponge. No one could teach me or show me enough and I
The team was ready, we had been working extremely hard for the past seven months for this. We were all in great shape and very rested. A few of the returning players were meeting me at my house to carpool to the final game of the state championship tournament. Everyone knew that the hard work had paid off when we won the semi-final game the preceding day.
I was pretty nervous because I wanted to be a cheer captain so bad. After voting, we went back to stunting.
In that absolutely endearing, prideful moment, I took a chance to look back on my past years, devoted to such a tireless sport. I began the wide sport of cheerleading when I was a mere
Gymnastics is a fun way of expressing your and the inner animal in you. Well on this day I expressed Me and the inner animal in me. My team and I were on our way to a semi- final tournament and we were excited about it. As we stepped off the bus and approached the sidewalk we prayed and proceeding forward
The aquatic rescue part of the training was held the week of my spring break. I was excited about the training session because I was finally going to meet some of the people that would work with me and get to see what the job was like. The day before the session a meeting was held for all the people who had been accepted. Here I
