I completed my field experience at Oasis and the YMCA. My experiences at both locations taught me a lot about what it is going to be like in my classroom when I start teaching. The students at oasis were Latinos that came from a lower income family and struggled academically. Every Tuesday I tutored the same four kids and I was amazed at how much they taught me in one semester. The students advanced so much while through out the time I spent with them. Many of them found it difficult to do their math homework but after a few weeks of working hard, they improved significantly. These special four students have taught me how to deal with several students at once, especially when they all needed my help at the same time. They also
Throughout my educational experience I noticed the discrepancies with regard to the advantages my peers possessed. In high school as I began exploring what career I wished to pursue, I experienced inferiority as my classmates who’ve taken the ACT three times, visited college campuses, and have had resumes ready since the 6th grade unintentionally mocked my lack of college-readiness. However, my ignorance wasn’t intentional, my parents never reached a high school education in Mexico, they couldn’t pass down SAT tips or acquire internship opportunities for me. I realized it's vital to pick up the pace to avoid being left in the dust akin to countless others in my situation. Henceforth, this statement resonates with my experience, I interpreted
As I step out onto the field I smack in the face the aroma of the freshly cut grass. I get the sense of being home after a long trip away. It’s great to be home where I know I have fans that will cheer us on. The grounds crew is out working on the field to get it ready for the game later tonight.
As I sat at the long table in a classroom with over a thousand kids, I was ready to start the state science test that I had worked so hard to study for. As I nervously sat there waiting, it dawned on me that this, science and chemistry, is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
Last summer I wanted to work and earn a little cash and distract myself and not be home all summer. I didn't know where to apply so I applied everywhere I was even open to working in the fields my parents told me that the fields were the last place they ever wanted me to work. My mom and step dad Raul always told me that field work wasn't easy and that it was not for me but I didn't listen.
My field experience was in Ms. Felkins third grade classroom at Washington Elementary School. The class there are nineteen students total, nine boys and ten girls. There are two different ethnic groups in the class, four African American students and fifteen white students. Additionally, there are three students who go to a resource room throughout the day for academic instruction. One of the students goes to the resource room for thirty-minute increments throughout the day. Three students go to a small reading group each day to work on reading skills.
High School has been filled with some of the best moments of my life and overall my experience has been very memorable. However, my most memorable high school experience would have to be a special accomplishment in the Medical Academy. April 27, 2017, was the day I gained my first industry certification as a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant. By having one of the highest passing scores in my class made me feel very accomplished and I truly gained the understanding of hard work and determination. That day is very special to me and have encouraged me to work even harder to accomplish all of my goals. My experience in the medical academy has inspired me to pursue a career in Nursing. Ultimately, I want to work towards becoming an ARNP
During the completion of my field experience, I was able to concentrate on the growth and development of myself professionally. Amidst the many positive experiences I gained working between experience professionals, I was also able to acquire and enhance my own teaching skills. For me the experience was an eye opener, being a future educator with little experience I was able to gain many details and exposures to the many useful resources parent have within the community. After being in several different community resources I was afforded a noble benefit from the knowledge gained from the professionals I met and the parents they serviced.
My senior project began with me stepping into a unique and exciting world; an adventure into modeling. I found myself wanting to learn everything regarding becoming a model and ways to break out of my shell and into a new comfort zone. The goals I planned before I finalized this project is to be in my first personal photo shoot, why? I loved seeing how rewarding it is to be photographed, and the self-esteem that builds within. The beginning of this project I had questions about what sort of person I am now and how I will shape afterwards, my road to gain these answers by how much work and effort I can accomplish this summer. My progress so far hasn’t been enough to modify my mindset into a people person professional, this has made shape into
“Nothing ever goes my way!” we, as teenagers, sometimes like to think. I, myself have been caught thinking this same way when I desire something, whether it be a tangible item, or a chance to hangout with some friends. Upon completing my senior project, my eyes were wide open. I have always been aware that there are homeless and impoverished people in Sacramento, but witnessing a large number of less fortunate children in one setting, whom all feel that “having a little” is the way of life was a bit appalling to me. There isn’t much that I could have done for the children financially, but I do feel that I left an impression on some of the children’s hearts.
The summer of 2016 I began to work in order to have money for myself and to help my family out, economically. It was definitely the worst job ever, it was in the field so it was obviously very hot, exhausting, and challenging. I arrived at work at about 6 am and it was already very hot, and I had to work in the sun all day until about 5 pm. By the end of summer, I was already all sunburned. Working in the sun almost all day and everyday was very exhausting for me. I would get home and take a shower, eat, and sleep until the next day to wake up for work again. The work was very challenging, because my wage was depending on what I made in the day. I had to work very fast in order to make many dozens of onions in order to have a good check by
The wind rushes through my hair as I speed through the back roads to my happy place. The humongous corn fields quickly disappear into my rear view mirror when I rip off the road into the field. I can feel the bass bouncing through out my jeep as Shania Twain blares through the speaks of my jeep. With my windows down, I’m sure everyone in 4 mile radius can hear my music too. My hands grip the leather wheel as I hit each bump of the open field. As I hear my friends singing Party For Two with me, a laugh escapes my mouth. I know my friends aren’t paying attention as I speed up to hit the steep 2 foot drop off. My body leaves my seat as I scream with joy, but Lexie and Mackenzie scream with terror as they bounce around their seats. Over dramatic
In reference to my experience within the Early year’s and foundation stage, it is evident that children have a need and want to explore their paths to learning and developmental. It is essential that pupils are educated with the support of practitioners such as teachers, teaching assistants and nursery nurses amongst their classroom. Children require an enabling environment in order to achieve rich materials that shall influence their learning journey and progression throughout the development matters. It is vital that the pupils are given a safe environment to create relationships, make mistakes and take risks with their schooling. Academic writer Anna Ephgrave (2015) has influenced my future teaching practice with her concept of planning
Two weeks ago I was shot by the villain named, Injector. he injects any serum through a bullet that gives you any sickness or powers. So he shot me with a power bullet, which was for his brother, that gave me super speed. Super speed has come in very handy, like getting to work on time and getting ready in the morning. But when I was shot i got sent to the hospital for care. a scientist, named Barry Allen, he took me to his lab which is named, S.T.A.R. laboratories. He had two other scientists, named Cisco and Katelyn, Both love science.
My whole life has been dance, art, and modeling. I’ve always thought my appearance was top priority. But once I got into middle school I started taking random extra classes to fill up my schedule, one of those classes was Design and Modeling and a STEM class. When I told girls in my classes about these “filler” classes, they told me “don’t take that class! Weirdos are in that class, you’re too cool for that!” On my first day in Mr Kern’s class and the STEM class I fell in love with the class. By now I have taken all of Mr Kern’s classes (Design and Modeling, Flight and Space, Green Architecture, Science of Technology, etc.) In these classes I tend to understand it quicker/get projects done quicker, and teachers had to figure out ways to challenge
