The team wasn’t too great, we won about as many times as we lost, but that was fine. I struggled beyond belief, leading the team in strikeouts at the plate. One night we were in a tied up game heading into the bottom of the sixth inning. We managed to get a runner to third, but with two outs I couldn’t bunt. Once I had watched the first two pitches go by for strikes I knew I had to be looking to swing and come through. I had a feeling that everyone assumed I was about to strike out once again. But once I saw the pitch leave the pitcher’s hand, I knew it was all mine and connected on a line drive to left-center field. Hearing all of my teammates and the parents yell for me felt amazing. The ball landed landed deep in the outfield and as soon as I reached first base I realized I has just hit my first walk-off ever as the run crossed home to score the winning run. Soon my teammates ran out to bash my helmet and congratulate me on my feat. I’ll always carry that moment as my favorite sports memory of all time and I will never forget
As I was standing in the street holding rocks in my hand, two men asked if I wanted candy, that caught my attention real quick even though I knew I should have ignored them. I walked up to their buggy and was going to talk to them, but before I knew it I was hit with something and thrown into the bottom of a buggy. I tried my hardest to fight back but they overpowered me. We came upon a cave later that night, I was camping with two men, Bill and Sam. This was the first time I had ever gone camping and I was very excited.
Finally the time was here to play some Baseball. No one had seen how fast the pitcher pitched the ball because I was the only one at practice. Anyway I was the second one who was going up to bat but my team was in the field first so I kinda got some time to see how they play. But we had a really good pitcher so it was 1, 2, 3, strikes it was time for us to bat.
It was the last games of the baseball season. We had are worse pitcher pitching for our team. And they had an ok pitcher pitching. We got to the semi finals and our coach was going nuts. I was in the locker room getting ready for the game and my teammates Austin and Tevan were right next to me also getting ready they were one of the best players on the team.
I took a deep breath. It was the big championship game and we had 10 minutes left on the clock and the score was 10-7 we were down by 3. We had 3 runners on the base and 2 outs I was on deck and Brooke was up to bat. I pulled her over to the side and said “you got this were only down by three and I got your back. We have no outs so take your time and hit the ball.” Brooke said “ok thanks and we got this”. The pitcher threw the ball and Brooke hit the ball. It went straight down the 3rd base line. She got a single and now the score was 10-8, I was up. The pitcher through one right down the middle I hit a line drive right to center field and got a double, MG was running home as fast as lightning and slid into home barely making it. The game was
That morning I woke up on the second week of summer, ready for my championship baseball game against Portsmouth. Our U11 all star team sat in second place in the tournament going into the championship against the number one seed Portsmouth Eagles. The whole day leading to the game, all I could think about was the game, not even the amazing apple pie my mom made because my sister begged for it.
It was a fun day in New York at Yankees stadium The Home team (My favorite baseball team) the New York Yankees were up against the Toronto Blue Jays. I was wearing my Aaron Judge shirt sitting in my seat when the game started the first two innings was scoreless. Second, Aaron Judge comes up with two guys on base and hits a double scoring both runs. Then, I look at the jumbotron and see Aaron’s calm smiling face. The next few innings was intense the Yankees and the Blue Jays battle for the lead. Next, the seventh inning stretch comes around and we all rise from our seats and sing.
I was on the varsity softball team for Oakridge High School. On the 6th of May our opponent was Montague. It was the bottom of the 7th inning, I was playing right field. I was running to my position, and all of a sudden had to sneeze, so I stopped behind first base. Let me just tell you, huge mistake. Next thing I knew I was on the ground. People start swarming me and asking me all these questions, and at the same time I was trying to process what
But that time was short because my team decided to go down one, two, three. So I took the mound and countered with my own one two three half inning. I began to methodically work my way through the opposing team’s lineup, until I hit a snag in the top of the fourth inning. Two walks and an error later and the bases were juiced up with no outs. I tried not to show panic, because if was rattled, my team would know it and become antsy too and I did not want that to happen. So just began to pitch again like nothing happened. The next pitch, a fast ball down the middle the fourth hitter smashes down the left field line. But out of nowhere, my third basemen snags it out of the air and touches third. Two outs just like that. With much excitement, I went on to strike out the last hitter and walk in the dugout
Running back and forth on and off the field, trying to score as many runs as each side could when batting. Then when it came to defense, we tried our best to not let the Braves score any runs. Around the top of the fourth inning is when it all started. I was up to bat. The first pitch came in, I swung the bat and the ball escalated into the air, landing out by the fence in the right center gap. I was running as fast as I could to at least get to second base. I slid into the bag and the umpire yelled, “Safe!” I was super excited and my adrenaline was pumping like no other. I was so anxious to score it was unreal. Now there was one out, I’m still on second base. Cora Blume is up to bat, and kills a line drive into the left center gap. When a line drive is hit usually you get off halfway or at least enough where if they drop the ball you can make it to the next base, or you can get back if they catch it. Next thing I know the girl makes an
It was a hot summer day in Hammond, Louisiana and I was pouring down sweat like I had just jumped in a pool. The game was just about to begin, me and my team was eagle eyeing the bomb squad. It was so quiet that you could hear your own sweat hitting the bench. The umpire broke up everyone’s concentration by saying, “play ball”! The defense had ran out on the field and I started rolling ground balls from 2nd to short-stop to third base. They had all made good throws back to me and then I threw the ball into the dug-out because the game had begun.
Toward the beginning of the game, one of the other team’s best hitter was up. I was playing outfield and the first hit came. Pow! I went over all of our heads, but luckily it was a foul ball. On the second hit, it
It was a rough beginning, both teams went scoreless the first three innings. We cheer each other on. In the top of the fourth inning, Tyler, one of our best hitters, gets hit in the eye by the baseball. Tyler gets hauled off in an ambulance
The other team had just caught up with us at five points, and we worked so hard to get the five points that inside I just felt like I was going to cry. I was holding back my tears, I looked around the dugout and it looked like my whole entire team had the same feeling that I did. I suddenly jumped at my couch yelling "Time for the out field."
