Both speakers talked about different aspects of social media; Kasey Anderson talked about writing for the web in detail. She started by given the number one rule for writing on the web; “You post it, it’s out there”. She also talked about the platforms of social media being used like Blogs and Twitter. I was able to locate an article that covered some of things Kasey mention and it also helped me write about my recent experienced with Uber on social media. My husband and I went on a double date to enjoy a stage play at the Fox Theater. My brother was driving and his wife was telling him since we are running a little behind, we should valet park to help us get to the door quickly. Upon our arrival, there is no option for valet parking
On July 22nd I was driving North on Lambert Road in Glen Ellyn about to make a left onto Roosevelt Road. I was in a Enterprise Car Share vehicle that is a 2012 silver Toyota Yaris. As I approached Roosevelt Road there was another vehicle in which case it was a black Toyota. This Toyota sideswiped me as the driver said she was distracted and did not notice my car in the left turning lane as she was in the right lane trying to get over. After looking at her vehicle it appeared most of the damage came from her driver side mirror and right above the rear driver side tire on the black Toyota. Therefore it damaged the passenger side of the Enterprise Car Share vehicle.
Social media opens up an entire new world of opportunities. Not only can you jump into any woman's life with the click of a button, but if you use it properly you an write a story about yourself that people will fall in love with without any knowledge of the truth of it. This can lead to newly beneficial relationships, business opportunities, etc. During the interview, Marcus views on social media, he said, " Many companies today invest so much money into their social media presence, it's a whole new world of opportunity that can translate to real live competitive advantage and opportunity if you play your cards right."
Moving forward, social media has been a major convenience and reward to virtually everyone. On an individual basis, social media allows friends and family both near and far to communicate with one another. Also, businesses are flourishing through the use of social media. Advertising has never been easier. Horn (2013) states, “Our profession, unlike any time before, is demanding we become social media (…) experts” (1). Horn (2013) also states, “More than half of reporters (55 percent) use Twitter and Facebook to source stories” (1). Social media has greatly benefited business life and personal life.
In today’s world of social media and the countless opinions surrounding its viability and future, comes an article by Ash Read found on “Buffer Social” website; “A Brief History of Social Media (the stuff you probably didn't already know) and Four Predictions of it’ Future.” Mr. Read states “this post is an exploration of social media. A reflection on how it all came to be and a way to formulate some ideas on where it’s all going.” Mr. Read, through a review of past, present and future social media programs and sources attempts to convince readers that “Social media, is supposed to be a digital or virtual version or who we are as people. Instead it’s this highly sculpted, calculated, calibrated version of who we are.”
Denigrating our services is certainly not a very professional or productive way to proceed, especially considering the constant destruction of the existing fire alarm system, resulting in Stanley making special arrangements outside of the original scope of work. Our team is working extremely hard to ensure this is completed correctly, and on time. I don’t know if you’ve seen the history of what’s already transpired but here’s the break down.
Home: The idea of home plays an important role in identity. The author loved to describe the various details of the town he grew up in with a great sense of longing. The things he learned about growing up in his community, religious and social, gave him dreams finding a united homeland for his people as a child. These dreams translate well later into the story when he speaks of his family and home with a great sense of longing.
Since the invention of the Internet, people have become indulged with its copious functions, from making advanced programs to learning how to do new projects to social media. Social media has evolved over the years, from Friendster to Myspace to Facebook, since the late 1990s, and people have incorporated it into their lives. It is the modern way for people to connect and communicate with anyone and everyone across the globe. Plus, social media is everywhere; people utilize it when they are on the bus, at the checkout line, and even when they are using the restroom. In Peggy Orenstein’s “The Way We Live Now: I Tweet, Therefore I Am,” she propounds that social media has altered society. Social media has changed society’s priorities, characteristics, and mentality.
Central Idea: Social media has taken the world by storm and there have been many disadvantages that these applications have brought along with them.
Lawrence Lovasik once said, “Only the ignorant and narrow minded gossip, for they speak of persons instead of things.” Most, if not all, judge a book by it's cover because their intuitive mind is too dull. For instance, they tend to extrapolate the most out of what they see in social media, but ironically social media does not depict who anybody is. Sometimes biographies are written about famous people like Barack Obama, but only when an autobiography is written will people know who they are. The point is no one really knows you until you either write an autobiography or a short recollection of your life. In an attempt to decimate the repugnancy of gossip about my life I will frankly write a short autobiography of it.
Social media has now become a part of our modern day society and has a huge impact on our lives on a daily basis. Overall I feel like the two authors had a strong and support details to their arguments about social media. Social media every day is changing and more and more people are starting to get connect due to all the positives it has. In our era I believe that people would always want Facebook because of the face of how many people you meet a how much closer you feel to someone no matter the distance they are. My career objective is to become a social worker when I finish school. I would like to become a social worker because of the many things they do for kids. Ever since I was little i always wanted to help people out. This job would make me happy because i love working with kids. Making kids happy and seeing them succeed brings joy to me . I feel as though there aren't many people who try with kids and they are not giving them a chance. People assume that just because they do bad things that it makes them a bad person when all they want is attention. A social worker has to do many things and they are responsible for helping people and families cope with their problems and try to help them. I have met many people who have struggled growing up and
Social media is quickly evolving in front of our eyes and it is almost impossible to reject and hide from this new form of media. Not only is it an important part of socialization within peer groups but now it is used to market and motivate people to become a part of a larger community. It is undeniably changing the way one communicates and how one finds and shares information. Most websites offer communication through the use of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and many various blog formats. With new apps on smartphones and photography and video made digital, media can be created, edited and shared quickly and once it is in this new digital cloud it is not yours anymore. Through these new advances in technology one can share things

As a phenomenon of only the past couple of decades, it has certainly changed the way we live our everyday lives. Wake up. Eat breakfast. Arrive at Beaunit by 7:00 A.M. Grab safety gloves. Wait for the machines to turn the paste into thread. Transfer thread to spool. Thread bunches up. Remove thread. Return to the machines. More paste becomes thread. Have lunch. Resume the assembly line. Breaks barely noticeable. Eight hours pass. Back home. Eat dinner. Sleep. Repeat.
