My experience with writing has been very up and down because I have a hard time focusing on the topic. I would say that’s something I need to honestly work on because my attitude is if I'm not into it then I'm not doing it simple. Some of my past teachers in high school said that I could write but I honestly don’t know about now. I'll admit that I've gotten lazy in the sense that if I'm not into the work then I'll just pass it with a D or just retake it. I need to get out of that and just suck it
everyone’s first experience with language is similar. The first words that a newborn will hear are usually very simple. Almost every time someone new enters the world and first sucks oxygen into their lungs, they hear something along the line of “congratulations! It’s a boy (or girl)”. A child’s first look at written language however, can be a completely different experience. What I share with you today is my writing experience throughout my childhood and how my family, friends and my education have
The experience I had with writing that I found difficult may or may not be common for most people, but for me it was. Writing has never been my strongest area in school. I always wanted to be somewhat good at it though , so I tried and still do. People have their weaker subjects and some have their stronger ones. Friends and family members of mine love to write, and I always try to keep a journal or diary. I just always found it hard to write it on paper. I’ve had so much to say that I keep in my
My writing experiences have been minimal. So far I have only learned the basics of writing, like forming sentences and forming sentences to put into paragraphs. I can tell that my writing has improved throughout the years. I hope to improve in writing essays, paragraphs, stories, and speeches so that I have no errors with editing and creating the final product. I predict that I will be a well rounded writer when I graduate from Newman University. Writing for me began as a kindergartener. My teacher
My experience with writing instructors were exactly how this reading described them. They always told me to practice my grammar, so I could become a better writer. A writer to them was someone who could properly use syntax and grammar throughout their paper. I was one of the students who could not have a grammarless paper because my view of writing was different from my instructors. I learned the incorrect way of writing, the way that was imbedded in my English exams. The "professional way of writing
My writing experience started in high school. I was part of the high school yearbook. I was business editor as a freshman up to being the editor my senior year. I also participated on the newspaper staff. I had some experience in college, but I did not finish college. I then did not have any more experience until I started work as a leader at Nisco. I finally started college classes again. When I was in high school I did not have to write much experience with MLA format for paper writing. I did
This piece of writing is a narrative writing piece, my aim is to create an atmosphere of fear and create an experience of the operation. In the writing, I used first person pronouns to show that was a first hand experience. I used I, me, and myself in this writing. I also used sensory details as the smell of the material in the operating room - the smell of anti-infective was strong and strange for me. It helps to create an atmosphere and makes the writing more authentic. I used colour adjectives
When looking back at my writing experiences, it reminds me that writing is not my area of expertise. Where writing may come easy for some students, it takes me longer to put my thoughts together. I am basically scared to write because I am lost at where to even begin. My struggles with writing began when I was in elementary school. Teachers and family began to notice that I was unable to stay focused in class. I would not pay attention when the teacher gave instructions to the class about an assignment
I have always struggled with my writing assignments. If I had the option not to write I would take that option with no hesitation. I truly dreaded it, when we have to type essays. Now, I have been into two English classes where I have felt a little more comfortable in being able to write something without being so embarrassed or ashamed in what I’m about to turn it. I still feel horrible about my spelling and grammar. Throughout my two quarters in a row in English classes, I have to learn that I
light bulb when I am writing. Sometimes when I write I am excited to write and other times I am not. After years of writing, I have had some awful experiences writing and some amazing experiences writing. I do write on my free time but I rarely do things that would be required if I was writing a paper for school. I have enjoyed writing in school for the most part. When I enjoy writing a story it is like molding clay with my ideas. One positive experience I can remember was when my class had to write
