Personal Narrative: My Failure In A Softball Team

Failure can be a very difficult thing to cope with. It can be something that makes you or breaks you. I have learned that failure is what defines a person; it shows your motivation to bounce back when things get rough. I have learned from my failure instead of dwelling on it and making myself weaker. For as long as I can remember I've been out on the field with my cleats and glove. The diamond became my home and my team was my family. Every summer and weekend was filled with traveling and tournaments. Softball was my life, I couldn't imagine doing anything else. thats how I was up until the 7th grade. That was the first time i could every tryout for my middle school's softball team. I knew I had to make the team if I wanted to continue being serious about softball. The Team was made up of 7th and 8th graders which only made it harder to make the team because all the 7th graders who were on the team the year before had seniority and almost automatically had a spot on the team. I practiced harder than I ever had before the weeks leading up to tryouts just to make sure I was ready. Then, in the blink of an eye, tryouts were here. My whole body was in shock, everything I had worked so hard and long for was gone. All the time I had spent was wasted and I didn't think I would accomplish anything ever again. After a lot of persuasion and complaining I decided to continue playing softball on a travel team so I had some what of a chance on making the team in 8th grade. The longer it was the harder I started working so I could get a spot on the team. I knew it was going to be a challenge but I was p for it. I worked harder than I ever have all year so I would be ready. When the spring finally came around I tried out for the team and made it. It felt so amazing knowing I can do anything if I try hard
