The first time I met my boyfriend was the first day I came to centennial college to take my test. When I arrive at the classroom, no one was there, so I decided to buy a cup of coffee. When I came back from the cafeteria, there was no room for sitting on the sofa which is in front of the classroom's door, so I have to sit on the other one which is a little far from the door. After I sat down, a guy holding a cup of coffee came over. I can still remember that he was choked somehow and started to cough after he drunk the coffee in front of me! Honestly, I was shocked, but too shy to ask whether he is fine or not since it had a poor English. Fortunately, he was fine after about one minute. Maybe, he was also too shy to keep walking because his
Frantic thoughts raced through my mind as I opened the door of my mother’s beloved red Dodge Charger. I looked over at my mother in the driver’s seat, waving me on and wishing me luck, trying to cheer me up.
Looking back at my life to where I am now. I can honestly admit if I did not come to Community College my life would have been different. Here at community college I have made the most out of my experience I not only saved a significant amount of money but, furthermore I have grown not only with myself but with my grades as well. I struggled with a numerous of things in high school. However here at college I actually took the time to listen and observe. I have made friends and individuals that I can honestly call my family. I have taken the initiative to progress in my chosen fields.
During my first week at Langara College School I know from the start that school was not the one for me; therefore, I started asking around where becoming a nurse would be fast and easy to get into a school and could instantly get a job right after I graduate. From there I did some research on my own and ask previous students who graduated at Sprott Shaw Community College if all the extra money that I will be spending it in a private institution instead of a public institution is worth it. In the end, I do not regret anything going into Sprott Shaw College because this is the appropriate school for me and would recommend to anyone who is confused or lost what they want to do in the future.
My first year at Jamestown Community College as a student, I accomplished making Part-time Dean’s List two semesters back to back. Beginning college that year my personal goal was to strive making new habits to get the best experience out of college, while keeping up with my grades. I took classes to guide me through learning paths, but it they taught me ways of accomplishing what you wanted out of life and other significant information in classes. Prior, to entering to college I received a scholarship called Chautauqua Educational Opportunity to attend Jamestown Community College. It is significant to my study because in high school I constantly strived to push myself to get the grades I wanted to be proud of. I was part of a couple activities
I hope this letters finds you well! In May I will complete my first year at Manhattan Christian College. My current major is family and counseling. Being here at MCC has strengthened my faith in so many ways. In high school I was able to participate in five mission trips throughout the United States. I have always had a passion to help people and in 2011 when I went on my first mission trip I had a yearning to go out of the country and help people. Although I was only a freshman in high school I didn’t put that dream on the back burner. I want to share with you a challenging ministry opportunity God has presented to me. During July 2016, I will be going to San Cristobal, Dominican Republic as an internship.
Last week at East, we had students going to the community college two days in a row and a school sponsored blood drive. The county office and community college scheduled the college days for our CTE students and seniors. It was hectic to say the least and the teachers had to be flexible. Some of the drove buses, others covered classes to give our students the opportunity to visit with college representatives and local business owners. By the end of the week, I could sense there was an undercurrent of stress. The feel or pulse of the school was off and by Friday, we had several teachers absent. To show appreciation, and to help combat high staff absents on Fridays I asked for money to buy the staff ice cream and to begin Fun Friday.
This year, 2016 and 2017, was my first time at Early College High School. I was very worried and scared at the beginning of the year, but now, I am more comfortable at this school. From re-dos to essays, I have learned a lot this year from my English class. There are many things that I will forget, however, there are also memories and actions I will keep. Lastly, there is advice that I will provide for the upcoming sophomores.
Ever since my first day on the Evergreen campus, I began to hear the phrase cura personalis everywhere. I heard it in convocation and welcome speeches and found it written throughout admissions pamphlets and even in course syllabi. As a new first-year student, the phrase was introduced to me with the meaning, “care of the whole person.” During my first year at Loyola, I found that there was an abundance of resources and support systems around the Evergreen campus that were there to help students, like myself, navigate collegiate life while nurturing all facets of themselves, including the physical, mental, and emotional. Having been the recipient of these helpful sources, I decided that I wanted to spend my future years at Loyola helping my
Again. It was the first day; it was the beginning. Again. On Tuesday, January 17, 2017, spring semester began at Nassau Community College. All morning long and, up until one p.m., events, both of my own making and those beyond my control, made me unhappy; within the classroom, however, within the classroom with you, I was happy.
Had my first day at Washington Academy. Spoke to the principal, George Brookover. their isn’t a track team here at Washington. And it’s all so unfair. Met my new teacher, Miss Ronney...who introduced me to the students in class. Ronney explained classroom rules, she said how the class starts by singing the national anthem. Ronney asked if I would lead the class in singing the national anthem and I lost it, not knowing the words.
Today was my first day at Goddard School as a practicum teacher. The day started just like any ordinary school day, with student drop off. During the summer each classroom gets a new class of students, the students coming in for the summer are the same students that the teachers will have during the next school year give or take a few. During drop off parents are to walk their students to their classrooms. At this time Ms. Danielle, Ms. Stephanie and myself all introduced ourselves to the students and their family members. We told them how excited we were for the summer and couldn’t wait to get to know them. After the student is ready and set they are to say goodbye to their parents. At Goddard they call this pushing your parent out. Students
My shoes all of a sudden started feeling wet, an itching sensation started on my right cheek which ran down to my chin, my ears were turning the color of a tomato and my brain was in a totally confuzzled state. In search of similar faces, my eyes were wandering around everywhere. My heart beating very loudly prevented me from hearing cars going past me, the temperate of my body was increasing giving me the feeling I had a fever. I was feeling really dizzy, but at least I had made it to Wayne State University safely and was heading to my first class.
On September 6, 2017, Pine High School hosted the annual Washington Parish College/Career Fair. Schools such as Varnado, Franklinton, and Mount Hermon came to gain information about different colleges as well. Many Universities, Community Colleges, and local businesses joined us.
I was wondering how my SUNY Ulster credits would transfer into my freshman year at Manhattanville.
Experiencing a year of college life has led me to many challenges and opportunities. I have been able to attend the most prestigious historically black college in the nation and I have also attended a predominantly white institution. While attending Spelman College I have gained so much knowledge, wisdom, and insight pertaining to my black culture. Due to many issues at home I had to attend an university that was predominantly white, this time period really enabled me to see the major downfall in the educational system. I felt that I was not gaining the same education I had received at Spelman because it didn’t intertwine a curriculum that discussed the issues and also the success of minorities. Being at a black university or college enabled
