After seven weeks from the first health fair, it was time for yet another one, it was the first time I worked along with the ADMA students and I must say it was a better experience from attending my first health fair. At the beginning of the health fair, it was a bit rocky and I was quite confused what would be going on but as the day progressed it started to run smooth. For about an hour and thirty minutes I began the day by taking brief information from the patients such as their name, where they live, age, date of birth and occupation then I would hand them a number which will tell the patient the position in which he/she would be called to have order. I then assign the patient to a nurse which took him/her to the different
Food supplies should be ordered in advance. The call center will need to be staffed when call volumes are high. Soda should be removed from the menu to promote patient to drink other beverages that are better for them. Food trays should be delivered within an appropriate time frame. The kitchen should be setup with the cook preparing main dish and food prepares gathering addition food needed for tray. After the tray is complete the food delivery personnel will check the ticket to ensure all items have been place for the order. The kitchen should work area should remain clean during the process. As food delivery personnel are serving trays they should also pick up the trays that had been delivered to clean according to hospital standards. Standardizing the workflow of meal preparations should follow the standard procedure. The workflow should be posted to ensure the standards are maintained throughout the
All staff meets briefly to make everyone aware of how many patients are booked; how many appointments are confirmed; and how many appointments are available. Staff is also informed of who will be out, who will be late, and what things need to be done if time permits, so that priorities for the day may be established.” (Schuman, August 2015)
One of the major steps to take is to explore the patterns of the staffs and how the interact and relate when it comes to patient care, this will help in establishing a plan that will help the hospital provide the best care, decrease in falls, pressure ulcers and pneumonia
Establish a Plan of Care for each patient assigned, integrate the patient and family members in the plan of care, and have the ability to modify plan as needed.
I THEN WALK TO THE KITCHEN DOOR AND SEE IF THE COOK HAS EVERYTHING READY AND PREPARED. THE COOK IS WORKING OFF A PREVIOUSLY AGREED MENU (AGREED BY THE RESIDENTS) ONCE EVERYTHING IS READY, I PUT ON A CLEAN APRON (GREEN-FOOD/CATERING) AND GLOVES (BLUE). I THEN PROCEED TO TAKE THE TROLLEY OF FOOD TO THE DINING ROOM. EACH RESIDENT IS REMINDED OF WHAT IS BEING SERVED FOR THAT MORNING AND IS ASKED WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE AND IS GIVEN WHAT THEY HAVE CHOSEN. ONCE THE RESIDENTS HAVE EATEN THEIR CEREALS AND SECOND WARM BREAKFAST AND DRANK EITHER THEIR CUPS OR TEA,COFFEE OR JUICE EVERYTHING IS COLLECTED AND PUT NEATLY ON THE TROLLEY AND TAKEN BACK TO THE KITCHEN.I WILL THEN REMOVE MY GLOVES AND APRON AND AGAIN WASH MY HANDS. I THEN HELP THE STAFF ASSIST THE RESIDENTS BACK INTO THE LOUNGES. I WILL THEN ASK ONE MEMBER OF STAFF TO WIPE THE TABLE MATS OVER AND TO HOOVER THE CARPET IN THE DINING ROOM, AND TO RESET THEM READY FOR LUNCHTIME, USING CLEAN UTENSILS. I ASK ANOTHER MEMBER OF STAFF TO CHECK ON THE RESIDENTS WHO ARE EITHER STILL ASLEEP OR ARE HAVING BREAKFAST IN BED AND SEE IF THEY ARE READY TO GET UP NOW AND TO ASSIST THEM AND I ASK THE THIRD STAFF MEMBER TO WATCH THE RESIDENTS IN THE LOUNGE. IF THERE IS A MESSAGE LEFT FOR ME TO RING G.P'S OR ARRANGE TRANSPORT I WILL DO THIS NOW BY GOING INTO THE OFFICE AND GETTING THE CARE PLAN OF THE RESIDENT I NEED TO CALL THE G.P OUT FOR (OR BOOK TRANSPORT), I RING THE SURGERY AND EXPLAIN WHO I AM AND WHERE I AM CALLING FROM AND THEN
As I walked into the Petaluma Health Center it dawns on me that it was Halloween. Edwin and I were not informed that everyone would be dressing up for the day. We ran into Amy and were told that we would have an office for the day. This was a pleasant surprise because we have been working in the break area the last couple of weeks. The quiet of this office allowed Edwin and I to work on parts of our presentation. Our main goal for the day was to meet up with Gabb a member of Vet Connect.
For me, the most exciting time of the year comes in late August. It is the Middlesex County 4-H Fair, in which I give not so much my weekend, but my life. As the title implies, the fair is put on by the 4-H organization. This youth organization uses agricultural education and community service to teach important life lessons. I joined 4-H when I was eleven years old and it continues to change my life. I have learned communication, leadership, and even my love for education through the wonderful programs and dedicated volunteers.
First, I want to thank those that were able to make it out today to the meeting. Your attendance was a progressive step towards completing this Healthcare fair's mission. For further meeting dates, a link will be sent out in the next few days to take votes on the most convenient dates and time for us all. To build great teamwork, there must first be people. I envision unity amongst this team and I hope we all can come to an agreement on the next meeting dates.
A common goal all healthcare providers share, is the desire to provide excellent patient care. The delivery of care is constantly changing in healthcare, however, the patient will continue to remain the focus of care. The success of nursing care thrives off the ability to fulfill patient needs and to maintain patient safety and satisfaction. When patients are admitted to the hospital, their need for an increase in their level of care and attention, due to the decline in their health status, and inability to preform normal daily activities of daily living. The loss of independence places the patient in a vulnerable state of mind, causing the individual to rely on members of the healthcare team to assist with basic self-care needs while in a stable and well-organized environment. A structured environment can be accomplished through the practice of hourly rounding on all patients.
Hi, dear class director, thank you for letting us participate in the recent health fair. I just received your evaluation saying students forced to work the extra hours and complained about it the whole time regarding the health fair that was held on March, 31st 2018. I have to disagree with your evaluation because as you know we were short on students in some areas of the health fair and we had to step up and cover where our help was needed more. I believe all of the students including my self, did a good job and the students deserve a pat on the back, and maybe they deserve a soaring eagle as a reward won't be that bad too. In spite of being a student with not much of experience and new to this sort of project, I think everybody did very well

My trip was to go to CMMC Wellness Center; unfortunately the plans didn't go as well. So we had to stay at LHS and had a guy came and talk to us about what he does and our job shadow. Ryan Westleigh attended Bates College and eventually became coach. He has played basketball, football, soccer and ran track. Westleigh talked about his career and what he does as an athlete coach and their latest scores. He didn’t really talk about the career but I believe the three significant academics skills would be the ability to communicate by way of written expression, the ability to recognize a problem and think critically to solve it and the ability to use technology effectively. All these academic skills can be used in coaching at all times.
Upon starting her shift, she assessed any patients already in care for vital signs and needs. As patients came in she would assess the client and continue to provide care for the new client
I have earned 5 hours for this activity by learning about my career goals and medical schools in general. I recently visited the University of Florida's campus and visited the UF Health Center. They have a very nice facility and they do a lot of research. It is now the goal to get into UF's medical school. We did talk to an admissions counselor, who suggested that as soon as I get into college, I should started doing internships and be a part of a research team. This will be an area of growth I will need to work on since I tend to be shy when it comes to going certain organizations I am new to.
