The first time I ever rode a dirt bike was when I was the age ten and then I never rode another one until I was fifteen years old. This is relevant because to learn how to ride a dirtbike takes time and help from others. My father had been riding dirt bikes and quads since he was a child, so when I needed help I looked up to him. I was clueless on how to operate a dirt bike until I asked my dad for help. Now I can ride a motorized bike with no problem! When I acquired my first dirt bike, at the age ten, It was like trying to start a car without a key. I had no idea how to put it into first gear or how to shift after the bike started to move. My first dirt bike was a vibrant red color with various chips of paint missing throughout the bike. The hardest part to a dirt bike is learning how to use the clutch at the right time. My first time releasing the clutch i gave it way too much gas and looped the bike. …show more content…

The first thing my father said was, “Release the clutch slowly while giving it the equivalent amount of gas.” “Of course, wouldn't want to loop it again like the last time” I said quickly, before taking off. With the help of my dad I became a better ride each and everyday we practiced together. If I didn't ask my dad for help I probably would have made no progress on riding. Now that i've had my dirt bike for awhile, riding it is as smooth as a knife cutting through butter. Any time I feel like riding, all I have to do is hop on my dirtbike and ride like the wind. Thanks to my dad for helping me I do not need any assistance when I want to ride and it's extremely easy for me to shift through all six gears while going as fast as lightning.
