I have always been a curious person. I loved being independent and finding things out for myself. Whenever I could investigate anything I would. Even if it got me in trouble sometimes. On one fateful day however I learned to limit my curiosity. I was five years old I had just finished my homework of counting to one hundred for the night. Then my dad walked out of the kitchen and said “Jaden do you to help me make cookies?” I was excited I had never helped my dad make anything before let alone cookies. Almost as soon as my dad could blink I had already dashed into the kitchen. When my dad walked into the kitchen I was sitting on the counter top. When we got all of the supplies to make the cookies my dad told me what to do first. He told me
When I was about four years old my dad was still working in the military. Then one late afternoon my dad calls a family meeting in the dining room then BOOM he tells us that he got a new job offer and that we’re moving virginia. I didn't really know what that meant cause I was 4 but my sister was devastated Because she had tons of friends at school and at home and she liked it. So we packed our bags and set out to virginia.
Katie Ashby Mrs. Foster English III Ap 25 August 2014 Rhetorical Analysis of In Cold Blood and The Sun Also Rises In the book In Cold Blood, Truman Capote uses dramatic irony to tell the tale of the murder of the Clutter family by telling readers early on that the Clutter family is going to die, and who their murderers are. In his novel, The Sun Also Rises, Ernest Hemingway uses point of view to show readers what it was like to live in the Lost Generation by describing the life of one Jake Barnes and his friends as they travel from France to Spain from Mr. Barnes point of view. Using dramatic irony, Truman Capote tells readers of the assumed motive-less murder of the Clutter family. Early on in the story, Capote tells the readers that Mr. Clutter “headed for home and the day’s work, unaware that it would be his last (page
My whole life I’ve felt like an outsider. When I was younger dealing with a learning disability, I have had a hard time making and keeping friends even to this day. I struggle with being a follower instead of a leader. My own adoptive father verbally abused me growing up and I also had kids in fifth-sixth grade who constantly bullied me. I still am reminded of an instance when the first day of fifth grade approached: I got on the bus and these older girls started making fun of my pants saying, “She’s wearing high-waters.” I was humiliated in front of my peers every day since than during those two years. After being bullied for so long I made a vow to myself to never forget the pain inflicted upon me on a daily basis.
Following the creation of the Mayflower compact, John Carver was the first elected governor of Plymouth. However, he died during the first winter and was succeeded by William
One quiet morning I was sitting on my couch playing games when my I heard my dad jingling his key. So I decided to get up and see what or where he was going.
I lived with my brother. One day we were really hungry so we went looking for food. I found this big green egg with red spots. I told my brother that we should try eat it.
In 2011 on a very cold December night, my dad told me something that I will never forget. My siblings and I were all sitting in my fathers very out dated apartment, eating hamburger helper and watching a movie on his small 32 inch t.v.
When I was about 11 years old it was close to Christmas time, I was at Soccer practice and my dad was there watching me play. My mom stopped by and I was wondering why, because usually both my parents don't show up to my practice. I figured there was some sort of PREDICAMENT. I finish my practice and I'm packing my stuff up and my mom goes to her car and looks like she's about to cry. Me being curious as I am was bugging my dad
I never should have started it, but I had no idea I would cause so much trouble. I also had no idea that I would get a senior pilot’s license at the age of thirteen, breaking the record for youngest person to get a senior pilot’s license. The only thing I regret is spray painting the “F” word on the side of a y-wing. That is what got my license revoked. After my license was revoked, I dropped out of the academy and began my adventurous life of crime. I stole an abandoned A-wing from the barracks that I might’ve blown the door off of… Maybe. I don’t really care anyways. While I’m frantically flying away from Corellia, I’ll introduce myself. Hi, I’m Han Solo, orphaned at the age of nine when my parents crashed their starship into this stupid planet coming back from a run.
I was seven years old and it was in the middle of the summer and I almost got run over by a car. The day was going really good just like any other summer day; I got up, got dressed, ate breakfast, and went outside to play. For breakfast that day we had pancakes that tasted like they were made by angels. Before Chris and I went outside our mom yelled, “Be back by lunch or I’m going to send your dad out there to get you!”
Put the gun down! Put the gun down! Pow Pow Pow. The gun shots cracked into the air as loud as thunder. One after another. We live day by day not knowing our end. In the blink of an eye our lives can be changed forever. Its life, yet even in knowing this we never expect tragedy to find us. We never expect it to affect our lives and the people we know and love. I’m going to share with you the day tragedy found my life.
Carlos Zafón has said, “The words with which a child’s heart is poisoned, whether through malice or through ignorance, remain branded in his memory, and sooner or later they burn his soul.” It doesn’t matter the reason for which someone has harmed a kid, because the effects will last a lifetime. In finishing the Bullying Project I have learned a lot about different forms of bullying, and just how poorly bullying can affect someone.
The parents were fed up with our wild animal like behavior and told us to play downstairs in the basement. We all went down the basement and started to playing tag. Therefore, we had to be careful playing because the basement was not finished at the time and had metal studs where the walls are supposed to go and the concrete floors that are now hardwood. When everybody went upstairs because they were as tired as an olympic runner after a meet my Dad came down to fix a light bulb. He used a ladder to fix it so he could reach and when he was done he went upstairs so I was the only one in the basement. I wanted to be like my Dad so I decided to climb the ladder. I was at the top when my foot slipped off the ladder. Somehow I was able to turn my body around and grab onto a pipe to stop myself from falling. I felt the pipe starting to brake so I decided to swing on to the metal stud next to me because I was sure that was going to hold me. When my
I am an incredibly curious person. However when I encounter something that I find interesting, I tend to observe things about it first and ask questions later. I really like getting involved in things that make me curious. For example, I'm just as curious about deviant or abnormal psychology as I am passionate about helping people be healthier individuals.
During the Christmas holiday season when I was 14, I woke up early on a beautiful Monday morning trying to find my dad. My dad had a small business at the market place, and I wanted to go to work with him that morning. I was in need of extra money for Christmas gifts. I was full of energy, enthusiasm, confidence and a heart full of love and trust. When I finally found my dad who was outside loading the car with the merchandise, I asked “Dad can I go to work with you today? I want to help you, so I can make some extra money for gifts.” There was a long pause before he said “Are you sure you can handle it, remember it is Christmas time and people come from all over the place to shop, and we will be very busy.” I quickly replied “Of course, I am good with math, and how hard it could be to sell the famous chine melamine dishes? After all they sell own its own.” Well my father continues “Let’s take your sister to help you too.”
