What makes up an identity? Your friends, family, and culture can all play parts into your identity, but how can you show your identity to someone who isn’t you? By presenting the different sides of you, of course. My project illustrates the amused, serious, playful, and loving parts of me in different areas and situations. I had pictures of me with my friends, family, and some of. It displays my identity in multiple different fashions and therefore deserves an A.
My poster is filled with a variety of different pictures. In the majority of these pictures, I’m smiling. These pictures show my playful and joyous side—the side that comes out around friends and family. It’s a key part of my identity. It gave an excellent (and A+ worthy) insight

I was able to organize my poster in an aesthetically pleasing format with design brainstorming, preparation, and careful planning. This helped me successfully lay out my poster. I made sure to make certain pictures stand out over others to signify their importance to my identity. The white space on my poster serves as filler spots for new things that are to become a part of my identity in the near (or far) future.
Although, there are many positive things about my poster, some parts can be questionable. Some might say that I could’ve added more pictures of myself at a younger age or more pictures of myself in a different context. This may hold some truth, however, pictures of me at a younger age aren’t exactly necessary because my identity at a younger age is completely different from my identity now. Pictures of me in a different context weren’t completely necessary either since a large part of my identity is my friends and family so it would only be fitting to have them as the main part of my poster. My poster can also be criticized for the amount of white space left on it, but it was for a reason. As stated previously, I wanted to leave some blank space to fill in for parts of my identity that are going to form in the future. I also left the blank space for reasons of organization and
By just stating the important points and more use of pictures proved to be more eye catching for us and potential consumers. This could help achieve the aims of this organisation as students and working class people could notice this poster when they shop at local newsagents or public areas when they go to work or college. Although these won't be distributed to houses like leaflets, they will be situated at public areas such as on buses or some of the local shops nearby. This would increase customer awareness of the business on a whole or be a drawback as some people like the elderly who do not shop as often as other student are more likely to miss the poster rather than students who walk past on a day to day
The Greater New York Dental Convention held on 26th November 2017 focused on issues relating to dental hygiene and practices. There were some exhibitions in that convention displaying various dental diseases, hygiene practices, and dental technologies. One of the exhibits that caught my eye was the exhibition by Amanda Vera and Tiffany Andron from New York City College of Technology. First of all, their poster was well designed with a well selected them for the poster which was visually attractive. The color schemes were appealing to the eye and could easily attract passersby. The layout of the poster was also clean with words having a clear font, not too dull.
There is also a good ratio between words and pictures so the audience can get a better understanding of the topic. The effect of the poster is to teach people about the role that first nations and their customs have on Canadian law and, how it has influenced us over time. It is also to show people that the first nations people have their own ways of behaving, and that even though they don’t do everything the same way as we do, the law still accepts it because we acknowledge and respect other people’s way of
Posters are splashy, large-format images, which are accompanied by a short text. Usually, the purposes of the posters are to agitate, advertise, inform, or teach people. Posters from World War I and World War II often used metaphors, different figures, events, and places. During the First World War propaganda posters were enormously widespread. Artists used them to agitate people to conscription, subscriptions to war loans, and aid to the wounded soldiers. One of the most important posters from World War I and World War II is “I Want You for U.S. Army” by James Mantgomery Flagg. This poster is very influential because of its figure, the message, and the effect on the people.
This piece is very visually balanced and appealing to the eye. The designer used a gradient in the background which added to the visual appeal of the timeline. This exemplar is very well made and thought out, it is very clear that the creator did research and practice before creating their solution. The text is readable, consise, and the font relates to the overall topic of the timeline. The creater of this timeline demonstated their knowlege of photoshop through, by the use of fading, blurs, text placement , and cropping. The designer also used dates which allowed the reader to travel through the poster significantly easier. Over all I think this is a very well done solution, however the only critcizm I have for the disigner is them not fully cropping and/or blurring the last three images. This is eveident because the white of the original photo can be seen which lowers the overall visual experience of the
It will be a poster that is about 10 inches wide and 20 inches long making it the perfect size to grab peoples’ attention as well as fit on a poster bored. The first page will introduce the problem in a catchy font to get people's attention. Then throughout the whole piece I will have headers in bright text so those who were skimming the graphic will get the important information first. The headers will be designed to spark interest and then further information will be presented directly underneath. After the introduction page, there will be a page presenting the research. I will compile the data into graphs that pertain to the prevalence of underage binge drinking on college campuses. I want to present these statistics at the beginning to emphasize how serious of an issue this is. After presenting the data, the next page will feature a very complex looking web of the responsible factors. I want this page to look very overwhelming so the reader understands the problem does not have one simple cause or solution. However, I do not want to loose my message in this overwhelming design so my main points about responsibly as a network will be in big pink font. Essentially these points will emphasize the idea of responsibility as a network and that through looking at it this way, better solutions can be found. These main points were selected because if readers do not have time to read all the responsible factors, they will at
In the music video poster, I used a polaroid board theme. I used a cork board as the background and polaroid pictures and stickers to show the stories of the teens. Every story told in the video, got a polaroid of a time the teenagers were happy in their situation. When making the poster, I wanted to display the issues the video discussions.
The piece I have created is a poster reflecting the three principles for making economic decisions, plus trusting in God’s providence to change the world. I used ink pens and coloured pencils to showcase images reflecting solidarity for the earth and one another. Solidarity means unity, it’s a society standing together for the greater good. In the centre of the poster a group of people are seen consoling one another and showing empathy. Their unity and efforts to help one another reflect the the theme of solidarity. Surrounding this image, are pictures that reflect the three principles for making economic decisions such as promoting human dignity by helping the poor, reflecting that the earth was made for all beings, and caring for the earth
The Poster I saw was very plain and had only "Vote Georgia Lord" On it . The Word Choice and Tone of the poster help shows you are using ethos as a rhetorical devices. . Having only a few words on the poster shows that you are direct and to the point. By having just your name on the poster shows that you are reliable and credible.
The purpose is to answer questions on how poster art got started and evolved overtime.
Some of my major accomplishments include my movie poster, CD cover, magazine cover, and book cover. I’m most proud of certain assignments because I fortunately had the opportunity to apply my very own photography on my canvas. Another thing I am proud about is my advertising campaign final. I started the assignment not knowing what to design until I met my girlfriend and we are big fans of love bites simply because they feel good. She sparked my inspiration to design a hickie remover. I was very nervous because I wasn’t sure how I was going to campaign for my hickie remover let alone the advertisement look appealing. Moreover, I love my outcome and am most fond of my
Another major thing you look at when analyzing a poster is its ethos, pathos, and logos. This poster does a good job of appealing to all of these. Its ethos or in other words its credibility is shown in the fine print at the bottom and right above the main title. Above the main title you at the bottom of the poster you see Disney, which is a very credible company that is known for making very good movies that tend to appeal to the modern generation. When you look at the fine print at the very bottom you can make out a few of the actors names and the names of people who helped produce the movie. Most
Due to issues with one of the group members keeping bare minimum contact with us while doing the bare minimum of work, waiting until last minute to tell us he wouldn’t make it to meet with us, and then eventually deciding to drop the class and tell us the day before the poster fair, the project ended up becoming pretty stressful for both myself and for Taylor. However, as much as group projects can be stressful and frustrating and this one was for us, I believe the poster fair project is a productive and positive project for this class because it allows a concentrated mix of ideas and opinions while working on a project and there’s no way to do something like an informational poster fair as an individual project without requiring significantly more time over the semester. As far as how our poster turned out, I feel like ours fell short in appearance, layout, and overall cleanliness. I don’t feel like our design was laid out as well as it could have been, though that is partially because we had originally intended to have another topic of feminist sexology included in the poster which was our third group member’s part – demedicalization of women’s sexuality and sexual problems. That fact also made me feel our poster lacked overall flow and, in some ways, information since having only one issue of feminist sexology seemed like not enough. However, given our circumstances, I am pleased with what we were able to pull off and make work for our poster and I feel that we fell along the line with many of the other posters from the other
A well-known phrase in the English language is, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” This catchy slogan is commonly used to convey emotion, individuality, and personality in an image. In the film industry, creating movie posters will indefinitely be a part of the phrase above. According to Alexander (2011), “a movies poster encompasses the message and feeling of the film, it should be the main source of attention for the release of a new movie” (n.p.). For this project I chose the genre, Drama. Within this genre, I chose three movies that are very diverse to analyze. The movies that I chose were, Holes, Gone Girl, and The Shawshank Redemption.
Every day, from when I wake up to come home from school to sitting at my desk, a portrait hangs over me. A portrait full of memories from my first year of school and subsequent years at primary school. As it remained on my wall all these years, its meaning and its memories faded away into the wall it was suspended on.
