I got my name, Josie, from my great grandma on my dad’s side. Did they name me after her since I’m the first grandchild? I don’t know, but I feel honored in a way. I’m guessing my parents wanted it shortened because my great grandmother’s name was Josefina. They should’ve said that was my first name instead of my middle name, but I can understand why they didn’t do that since Josie-Alayna sounds way better than Emily-Alayna (to me and my family at least).
Whenever I found out that we were reading Sherlock Holmes I got excited because who doesn’t love Sir Doyle? I’m not an avid reader of his collections but his stories and his characters got me interested in forensic science and criminal justice. Working in the field rather in a lab sounds more
There are so many life experiences that play a role in my return to college to seek my bachelor's
My full name is Samantha Taylor Miller, I am a criminal justice major. I am from Little Falls, New York. I currently live in North Hall with my roommate, who is also my close friend from high school. Although Little Falls is only about thirty minutes from UC, I am glad I chose to live on campus because I have met so many new people as a result of living in the resident's hall.
I currently have an Associate degree in Criminal Justice and have attended Professional Military Education (PME) courses in Security Forces Apprentice and Security Forces Leadership courses. Moreover, I was selected to attend the MWD Handler and Kennel Master/Trainer courses at Lackland Air Force Base (AFB) Texas. I have also attended the Non Commissioned Officer Academy Management Course at Petersen AFB, Colorado that enhanced leadership capabilities. Lastly, I was selected to attend Yuma Joint Forces Regional K9 Training with U.S. Marine/Navy in Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona in preparation for combat mission in
My decision to become a Criminal Justice major was not a simple one. My high school cross country coach was also a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer who told me that I had a very “police-like” attitude, which ignited a spark in my brain. Initially I thought it would be pretty cool to chase people down, shoot guns, and have my picture plastered on the front page of every newspaper for taking down the biggest drug cartel in the United States although my mind was still set on majoring in Athletic Training.
I am Aisha page and I am just an ordinary 18-year-old girl. I am always the quiet one who sits at the back of class. I have long, black silky hair and hazel eyes. I want to become a CSI so I could help the community in a way. I was walking down the street back to my dorm when I heard a car crash. I ran to the crash site and saw small streams of blood coming from the car. The car was crushed from the front due to being rammed into the light pole. Aisha wanted to do something, but didn’t know what to do. “What should I do?” I thought. All of the sudden I heard a high-pitched scream. I looked around, but saw no one. I then realized the scream was coming from the car. I walked cautiously toward the car and saw a little girl trapped in her seat,
Evan kept off the interstate for a while sticking to back roads and changing directions periodically to make sure he wasn’t being tailed.
Growing up I would see police cars drive pass my house almost every single day. Seeing the police officers in action sparked my interest in criminal justice, especially the Forensic Science aspect. I remember the day I began to do research into the field I Immediately fell in love with everything they did. From collecting evidence left at crime scenes to performing scientific analysis in laboratories. Ever since that day my goal has been to become a Forensic Science Technician. When I got to high school I applied for a criminal justice tech program that would allow me to learn more about the field. That class soon became my favorite I loved everything about it. From doing mock trials to crime scene investigation. While in the tech program I
I will not stop until I make the world a safer and better place. Maybe it'll be done by me being a prosecutor and help bring justice to the families who have been hurt. Maybe I’ll be a police officer and work my way up to a detective, or maybe I’ll even be a forensic psychologist and testify in court for the prosecution. It’s obvious I don’t know exactly how I’ll protect my people and make the world safer, but I am determined to do so; I will not give up on making my dreams a reality.
Psychology has always had a direct impact on my life for many years for example, I myself have had counselling sessions for anxiety. Experiencing this has given me a desire to work with people in understanding their behaviour and how their minds work to be able to empower individuals to lead better lives. My own personal experience with anxiety has also intrigued me into thinking why I think the way I do and what can be put into action to improve my circumstances.
As a Correctional Officer for the State of Colorado, I am motivated and tempted every day to promote but do not currently have the degree to move further into my career. I would like to increase my knowledge and experience in my career through law enforcement, but the only way to guarantee that I excel with experience and education depends on my motivation into evolving a Bachelor’s degree. My plan is to follow through my ideas and turn them into my dream coming true. I lost track of education and motivation when I was at Colorado State University of Pueblo in 2010, not realizing what I was throwing away at the time. Knowing that I was incorrect and foolish to get rid of something that is critical in life has made me want to complete something that was broken and make it whole again.
Majority of students in their senior year in high school decide who they will become later in the future and pursue the road of success, as for I made an interest in criminal justice. The beginning of my freshman year in high school I knew who I was and who I wanted to be but not for myself but for my family. To image myself in the customs border protection agent uniform and present to my family the success I have made is the goal I would love to achieve. For the strong interest I have for criminal justice I joined everything my family could’ve afford to enroll me into and the most recent one I enjoyed my high school years was the United High School Criminal Justice Club (UET). A team I became a member of was the building search team, where
Your Honor, at this time I am urged to ask you why you are crying for these two men. Let us not forget the afternoon of May 21. After six months of planning the perfect crime, Mr. Leopold and Mr. Lobe coaxed the young Bobby Franks into their car while he was walking home from school. Once Bobby had been lured into the vehicle, Loeb bludgeoned the poor child over the head multiple times with a chisel. After finding that unsuccessful Loeb dragged Bobby into the back seat and forced a sock down his throat and waited for him to finally suffocate. After the murder, the two men drove the body to Wolf Lake where they poured hydrochloric acid over Bobby's face, abdomen, and genitals. Once they mutilated and dismembered the body, they discarded Bobbys remains in a drain, and then they drove home to write a ransom note and spend the evening playing a leisurely game of cards. And why? Why would these two scholars do something so sinister? Because they were bored. Because they wanted a rush. Because they could. Your Honor, do you still sympathize with these two murders?
In this exposition, 3 girls were tied up against their will and drowned in Tampa Bay. Forensic anthropologist and autopsy reports came back that they had been in the ocean for about three days, but weren’t deposited off the shoreline, they were driven out into the middle of the bay and thrown out. The investigator says it wasn’t a murder, but an execution.. Investigators went out and asked near them, where the father and the husband of these girls had been during the time these girls had gone missing. Furthermore, they went looking for the mother’s car and found notes in her vehicle, they found a note that had directions to the hotel also the boat ramp 25 miles from the boat ramp. They sent the notes to a forensic handwriting analysis, the
It was a great experience learning about forensic science at this camp. It was always a field I wanted to be in. I'm just more interested in the technology or programming side. Overall, it was still a very educational experience. I got to build new friendships and open my mind to more careers in the criminal investigation field.
Forensic Detectives are the main reason most murderers are caught. Forensic Science Detectives help prevent crime by analyzing evidence. They find evidence through careful investigation of the crime scene. To become a Forensic Science Detective and make $54,400 a year, one must have a bachelor’s degree, along with on-the-job training, and be able to investigate crime scenes to find and process evidence.
