Dear Sarah Music and whomever else it may concern, After my internship with GDI this summer, I am keenly interested in continuing that work as an Associate. I would like to return to GDI because of two factors: the work environment and the team. GDI’s work environment enabled me to take on as much responsibility as I could handle, to follow my interests and develop my ideas, and to constantly improve my professional skills. Furthermore, GDI’s team dynamics allowed me to feel like a contributing member of the team. While the team supported my personal and professional development, I felt that, in return, I could give them input that was genuinely considered as well as deliverables that supported their work. Overall, my experience as a member
Everyone has their first memory when they have to enter the adult world, mine just happened to be my junior year of high school. This year was just a little glimpse of what was going to be the rest of my life. Getting my first job was bitter sweet. I had to learn how to manage my time between school, sports, and now a job. After my first week of school I had to start my new job.
Through my experience with the healthcare field, I have seen that low socioeconomic status, culture, and access are the major contributors to the health disparities today. Whether it is not being able to afford health insurance/medical costs, a culture that’s attitude and beliefs does not put much value on preventative care, or simply not having appropriate transportation to the doctor, all these factors work together against the patient. Medical professions can best tackle these issues by first knowing and understanding the needs of the population in which they practice. Theoretically, if one is aware of specific needs then those needs can be better addressed, whether they are financial or cultural needs. Also, medical professionals can work
As teenager, many people say their adolescence is one of the most important phases in anyone’s life. As a teenager, you get to experience many great events like going to high school football games, dating your first boyfriend or girlfriend, getting your driver license, and graduating from high school. As I look back, I believe that getting my first job was the most important event in my adolescence. I was very enthusiastic about getting my first job. I enjoyed that fact that I will be able to earn my own money and not having to ask my mother for any earn. Surprising, there was only one obstacle that was holding me back and that was the fact that I was a
Have you ever felt the exhilarating feeling of being watched? Like how every move you made felt as if it were being noted and permanently glued to your spectator's mind, the feeling where everyone just wanted to see you fail or make a fool of yourself. In November 2015 my brother and I participated in a fashion show, it took place on on the twelfth and thirteenth at 7:30 each night, Bridgerland Applied Technology College was our host. To be ready for the show we learned the walk, the smile, and anything we needed to know to succeed.
During my time at Hudson Partnership CMO as an intern, I have come to find that a Care Manager’s personality, ability to be nonjudgmental, and their gift to connect with children and families are just a few aspects that make them great. I have also observed the great results that come from building supportive child family teams. I have determined that my experience interning at Hudson Partnership CMO coupled with my educational background and my skills as a health educator makes me a great fit to pursue a career in the Clinical Mental Health field.
I’m sitting in class and I have 10 minutes left, then the worst thing happens. Then my stomach makes that loud growing noise. Everyone looks at me, I you hide your stomach and cover my face because it was that loud. Once I get out of class I just want to eat Panera, but all I can choose from is subway and the little noodle place. How nice would it be if I could just walk down the hallway and get some warm soup and sandwiches?
While attending UMD, I have held four different jobs. My main job is a summer internship through Bolton & Menk, Inc. I worked there this past summer and was re-hired for this upcoming summer. My job duties included data entry, construction observation, field measurements, and daily field reports for many multi million dollar road construction projects around the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and Mystic Lake Hotel. I observed the installation of storm sewer pipes and service entrances in addition to doing field calculations to correct pipe grades. I also observed parking lot and roadway preparation and asphalt laydown. Concrete work was checked and tested for compliance with state regulations in addition to checking string lines for
Currently, I am working as a graduate assistant to Dr Melody Eaton, associate director of the graduate program. Dr Eaton is an inspiring woman and provided me many interesting projects to complete. In addition to graduate assistantship, I am doing my practicum at the family practice and pediatric office. This semester I had an opportunity to work with MD and nurse practitioner (NP). This was the first time I had MD as my preceptor. This was definitely an eye opener to me because I noticed a difference in the approach of MDs and NPs. For instance, MD preceptor focused more on diagnosis and treatment while NP on connecting with their patient. Also, I noticed NPs were better able to convince the patient and MDs had deeper understanding of pathophysiology
I motivated myself to attend Trident Technical College. Ever since I lost my mother I felt helpless and wanted to give up but I didn’t because I know she wanted the best for me. To me college is an important place that can lead you to a bright and successful future. People who want to be someone in life tend to move on and attend college and I am one of those persons wanting to move on and have a good future. My motivation to keep going and go to college has always been my own expectations of being able to reach success doing what I want to do in life. Going to college can open doors for me in the future that can lead me in to better things in life.
My senior project began with me stepping into a unique and exciting world; an adventure into modeling. I found myself wanting to learn everything regarding becoming a model and ways to break out of my shell and into a new comfort zone. The goals I planned before I finalized this project is to be in my first personal photo shoot, why? I loved seeing how rewarding it is to be photographed, and the self-esteem that builds within. The beginning of this project I had questions about what sort of person I am now and how I will shape afterwards, my road to gain these answers by how much work and effort I can accomplish this summer. My progress so far hasn’t been enough to modify my mindset into a people person professional, this has made shape into
Well, it was a long and difficult road to find one, but my internship take place at Aflac in Pearl River. Aflac is a supplementary insurance company, which means that Aflac covers expense for individuals and groups to help pay benefits that major insurance doesn't cover like outpatient hospital treatment, skilled nursing care, etc. The position is that I've applied to is the sales internship position, where I have to learn about Health and life insurance, take some study courses, take a pre-licensing in Middletown, NY, and then spend $40 to take a state exam in Fairlawn, NJ before I can start selling to other people. It seems like a long and difficult road ahead of me, but I think I can do it.
“Nothing ever goes my way!” we, as teenagers, sometimes like to think. I, myself have been caught thinking this same way when I desire something, whether it be a tangible item, or a chance to hangout with some friends. Upon completing my senior project, my eyes were wide open. I have always been aware that there are homeless and impoverished people in Sacramento, but witnessing a large number of less fortunate children in one setting, whom all feel that “having a little” is the way of life was a bit appalling to me. There isn’t much that I could have done for the children financially, but I do feel that I left an impression on some of the children’s hearts.
Today was my first day at my new internship at Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs) at Saint James. I worked alongside with my site supervisor Sue-Ann Villano, she gave an introduction to RHIO and its purpose. I was also introduced with other employees in the office and their contributions to RHIO.
Being able to know more about my agency policy in order to effectively provide the service tailored to my client.
I think that in general I had a great internship experience and the thing that worked well was the cooperativeness of my co-worker who were will to teach me new things each week. I had a great internship supervisor, Christina who was always willing to answer my questions and to give me guidance.
