I spent my job shadowing day at Dial-X. Dial-X is a company that designs, builds, and tests automated manufacturing machines and systems that take the place of dangerous or unwanted manned manufacturing positions. I spent my day with Mark Memsic, a mechanical engineer. Mark designs and helps build the machines that are produced. Mark also solves problems with other companies’ logistical problems. I chose to shadow an engineer because I am considering becoming an engineer. I enjoy math, science, and technology. I thought that engineering would be a good choice to shadow based off of that. I hoped to learn if I would continue to become an engineer. I chose this Dial-X after working to find others. I found two others that could be a definite, but they did not work out. I also had a few that would not contact me back. Dial-X may not have been my first option, but it was a good option. I chose Dial-X because I need a job shadow and it seemed interesting. I am glad that I chose Dial-X because of the things that I learned and the experience. …show more content…
The whole day, Mark’s boss was telling Mark that I was his replacement and that he should pack up his things. Mark also had a rough time because he did not buy me lunch. I did not expect Mark to buy me lunch, but everyone else saw a chance to poke fun. Of course, this was after they had been working for a while. The shop conditions were as you would expect. You could smell welding and oil. You could see machines being assembled. The place was a little unorganised because of the volume of work that was happening. The shop also was well lit and the areas that weren’t being used were clean. Over all, the shop seemed to be in a clean state and a working
World War 1 proved America to be the nation producing the highest amount of propaganda. Through his use of propaganda President Wilson was able to draw American Support for the war. Despite his being elected as the “peace” president. Many Americans believed he’d keep them out of the war, especially after he stated that, “so far as I can remember, this is a government of the people, and this people is not going to choose war.” Before his election, Wilson promoted American neutrality. He pushed for what he believed his Americans wanted. However, through his employment of propaganda, Woodrow Wilson was able

In last manager’s meeting you asked us to share good stories, not just bad ones. There are many, so it is hard to pick . Here is one that happened recently…
Yes I believe that Butler made the right decision to utilize this new technology. The system that they were using before was outdated and was not performing to the standards that Butler needed. The VoIP system that Butler decided to implement was a great decision to help improve the features that the Centrex system before lacked in. Although the VoIP system they established was a great idea, it was rather expensive compared to the Centrex system they were running before.
This project will allow the roll out of three new call centers for the NASA John C. Stennis space center.
Because of the people I chose to surround myself around, I found myself wanting to go into the field of engineering. My friends knew I had a passion for math and they suggested engineering as an occupation I should look into. As of result of that, I found myself getting into more hands-on projects in my last two years of high school, as well as taking an engineering focused course in high school to try it out. I fell in love with the career path and since then, I aspire to become an
Employees were often in dangerous working zones or conditions and there were not many laws to protect their wellbeing and their safety. Workers during this time employees like the workers that worked in steel mills had very long work days, longer than most citizens in the United States. Many times the workers in the steel mill would lose fingers just working in the mill. Also at this time, there was a lot of child labor going
Throughout the tumultuous events that Hester Prynne has had to face so far, she has undergone a dramatic change in her personality. She has become more cold, in a way; she is more serious and somber, perhaps because she has faced sin. But more so, I believe she changed in personality because she became a mother. She needed to become a stronger, more mature person to provide support for Pearl, who has already had the world against her (because she was born of adultery). Having sinned and faced punishment, Hester became a "harder" person.
Working at KTXT was the best experience I have had in my professional life. I learned so much at that station that I have no choice but to donate to it when I actually make a decent living. I started out as an fall intern for a semester after taking the previous summer off from school. I always wanted to work in radio, and this was finally my chance to make that happen. And BOOM...I excel at the production side of things! I taught myself years before how to edit video, so editing audio just came natural to me. My production director was relieved that she did not have to teach another student how to edit audio. I was in! I was killing it; editing live shows, sports broadcast, promos, news stories, and then the end of the semester was creeping
TCPS and I have had a some what interesting relationship throughout the years. As I have attended TCPS since the first grade, I have been fortunate enough to see the school grow into what it is today. The greatest compliment I could pass to TCPS would center around its teachers. Whether or not it is a "dumb question" I have never been denied an opportunity to ask a teacher a question or meet with a teacher after school. Unlike many school, I strongly believe teachers should not only invest in the knowledge of kids but the kid as a whole. Some of the personal relationships I have made with several of my teachers will not be forgotten. In addition to loving teachers, the ability to play multiple sports at TCPS is a major strength of the school.
I had so many different dreams about my future, it is amazing when you are a child, you have dream such as being a mother, a wife, becoming a pop star, creating an amusement park and writing story books. It was only later, that realize that was a fantasy. Life has taught me is valued and to understand my worth, qualities, and skills, which allowed me to be the person, I am today. Working at Taco Bell has taught me about being responsible and accountable for my action as well considered by others. There are many roles that make this job run smoothly: that being on time for work matter, and making sure I know my schedule, is what taco bell expected from me. I learned that the key to making customers keep coming back over and over is a warm smile,
Chapter one is entitled “ Failing to Forget the Drunken Pirate.” This chapter starts off giving examples of real people that have professional jobs that posted something online that later on came back and ruined their lives in some way. One person was a woman by the name of Stacey Snyder who was a 25 year old aspiring teacher. After completing all the coursework needed to become an educator, university officials denied her of her certificate because of a picture that she posted on her private Myspace account. The picture was captioned “drunken pirate” and she was holding a red cup, the university officials claimed her behavior was “unbecoming.”
I chose electrical engineering for several reasons. One, I like to investigate stuff and figure out how it all works, and I have always had an interest in computers which function on electricity. I also love subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Algebra, and Trigonometry. I began considering engineering last year when I took an elective, Intro to Engineering, it was comprised of hands-on projects that I worked on and tried to make work. I loved the hands on approach it was fun and I learned a ton of useful skills and information. As for picking the electrical part, that was as simple. Ever since I was little I have loved computers I used them mostly for video games, but I was always curious as to their inner workings. I have had the enlightening experience of building my own personal computer from scratch. I went out bought the parts and carefully, as to not damage the delicate parts, put it together, installed my operating system, and now enjoy my own computer. This only made me more interested as to how all
A Wal-Mart photo lab associate, Claude is facing a difficulty concerning attending his father’s major birthday dinner.( Brotheridge, C. 2005) Claude comes from a tight family, and he didn’t want to miss the celebration. However, there is a conflict between his working schedule and the dinner plan. Owing to the inflexibility of the auto scheduler program and his manager’s non-negotiable management style, he was sure that his manager wouldn’t give him the time off. Additionally, he didn’t want to call a sick day, not wanting to bend the truth. He also couldn’t feel there was a cold coming. Yet, the main problem is Wal-Mart’s organizational management. Managers do not treat their employees with dignity and respect
It’s my first day at my new work tomorrow at the Trade Center. I have to get a good night sleep or I will be grumpy in front of my new boss. Ah, just woke up for a brand new day. Hopefully I don’t mess up in front of my new boss. When I got to work my boss showed me wear my desk was, and where it will be for a long time. I was working at my desk when this girl came up to me and said “Come with me”. She showed me where the conferences were going to be, and also some other places. By the time I was done it was my lunch break, so I went to my favorite place Mcdonalds. I got a bundle of a double cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, fries, and a large Dr.Pepper. I went back and got ready for four more hours looking at a computer.
