I have been going to Udall for a while, though I went to a different school in sixth grade and returned my junior year. I was glad to have returned and am now still getting to know people who were not here before. During my middle school year, I had developed a passion for writing and began writing short stories. When I had an assignment involving any sort of writing, I would jump at the chance to create something that would have my reader wanting more. At fourteen I had actually began writing a book, although it changed often over the years and evolved so much to where I now have ideas for many more books in the future.
Writing requires imagination and research on whatever it is we plan to place in whatever we are writing. I have read
My history as a writer began ever since I was in school. I have always loved writing. I also love to read. I find it easy to express how I feel on paper. Language arts has always been one of my favorite classes in school.
I stood in front of my vanity mirror as I did every morning, a bad but an ineluctable habit of mine. I traced my scar from my eyebrow to my cheekbone with my finger. I suppose most people see scars as a sign of survivor, but all I ever saw was my weakness. I don’t mean to be querulous, I was grateful to be alive, I just seemed to constantly be reminded of my mistakes. I shook my head, wishing I could pinion myself so I could stop obsessing over it. As I was leaving that morning, my cocker spaniel sat like a portier at the front door, his big brown eyes pleading me to stay. I felt bad for having to leave him, so I went to go give him a treat. He knew what was happening as soon as I started walking towards the kitchen and started to jump around
While attending UMD, I have held four different jobs. My main job is a summer internship through Bolton & Menk, Inc. I worked there this past summer and was re-hired for this upcoming summer. My job duties included data entry, construction observation, field measurements, and daily field reports for many multi million dollar road construction projects around the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and Mystic Lake Hotel. I observed the installation of storm sewer pipes and service entrances in addition to doing field calculations to correct pipe grades. I also observed parking lot and roadway preparation and asphalt laydown. Concrete work was checked and tested for compliance with state regulations in addition to checking string lines for
Well at first I was a sophomore in college studying Pre-Med, and I had to drop a few classes since I didn’t like Pre-Med anymore. I walked into a writing class (A Poetry One) it was near the registration desk. I thought it was pretty cool, they were doing an automatic writing activity, when the guy invited me in. When we started this exercise I really enjoyed it a lot. I also began to read a lot more. The authors who really inspired me were John Updike , who wrote the Rabbit series and J.D. Salinger, who wrote The Catcher in the Rye.
I’ve faced many obstacles as I have furthered my education such as choosing whether to drop an honors class and switch to a college prep course instead, or dropping an orchestra class to pick up a second health science course to ensure a chance to get into the CNA class my senior year; but the easiest part of my senior year has been deciding on going Lander University, home of the Bearcat. I had taken a tour of the university once during my eleventh grade year I wasn’t so sure; however when I went back to tour it one last time on September 24th, 2016 it felt different. I had this feeling that this is where I was meant to be. As if I had found a new home for the next four years as I began my next journey of obtaining my BSN in nursing.
When I first came to CNU for my interview to get into CNU. They were talking about the leadership program asking me if I knew about it and I did. But I thought to myself why would this great program want me, yes I did same community service and was captain of my Field Hockey team. But I was always the one to support people the one someone went to for help in a class or emotion support because my friends thought I was good at reading people I didn’t believe that, though. Why would this program want me! is what I thought but my family convinced me to apply what is the downside if anything I could tell my family I told you so. Which know looking back I see how completely wrong I was, thinking I was not even going to get into college. When I got
It is impossible to produce a piece of writing without creativity and imagination. As the foundation of writing, these aspects of writing creativity enhance the learning experience of oneself and others. Creativity and imagination also serves a therapeutic function by enabling individuals to escape whatever harsh realities they may be forced to endure. In addition, extending far beyond the creation of literature or fiction, these unique aspects of writing also enable one to establish and strengthen their own expressions, empathies, and criticisms of themselves and the world around
I stress out about it; scratching my head thinking where to start from. When reading this quo I interpret that if you’re writing about something it doesn’t matter what you’re writing about. As long as you have the drive to write a book or a novel you have the abilities to write anything you want. This Quo can motivate and impact many kids throughout the world to start writing. I feel like it’s important to have a creative imagination. Itis a useful tool to have; because you can come up with stories to pull in your readers that you are writing for. It can improve your writing and it can enhance your skills in free writing. If you just put your mind to it anything is possible in the writing
I entered the halls of White County High School a very shy girl with a fear of speaking in front of my classmates. A teacher of mine picked on me every day doing everything a shy kid hates: making me read aloud, write on the board, answer questions, and much more. Mr.Carr was determined to break me out of my shell. One day, he made me go up in front of the class and correct a sentence on the board. Something strange happened that day. I had to make the word “Travers” show possession. I thought it was correct to add an apostrophe “s” to it because it is singular, but, Mr.Carr told me to only add an apostrophe. I argued that I was taught you add an apostrophe if it is plural and ends in “s,” and this word was singular.
To start, I am a 22-year old rising sophomore at Winston-Salem State University from High Point, NC. I went to Thomasville Senior High and I loved it. I was the class president my sophomore and junior years, and also won top English student award sophomore year. I was chosen to have a success picture taken and post on the school wall and it is still there today.
I previously went to a private university in Chicago, soon after I knew my heart belonged to Washington State University. There was so many reasons why I choose to move across the country to go to WSU. The transition was hard: I had to leave my new friends, my new sorority, and an amazing city. But, Washington State University is the best fit for me because of the Ranking of the Nursing School, the cost, there is Beautiful Architecture, my boyfriend, a variety of clubs, and the location.
When I was at Brigham Young University as a student, I was heavily involved in different student activities as well as leadership programs in order to leave my comfort zone and learn how to work with variety of different people as a team. Especially, I co-founded a new student council for students from Asia at Brigham Young University, serving as a vice-president and a head of event marketing. I tried to unite students from Asia through social, educational, cultural events and to provide opportunities to serve others so that there are no intellectually, spiritually, or emotionally poor students from Asia. As a vice-president, I presided weekly performance meeting to assess progress of upcoming events and keep track of teamwork in order not to burden council members. And I also explored the funding opportunities that are offered by Brigham Young University Student Association and raised $5,000 by sharing our cultural experience to the local high school students during the fall semester of 2013.
Although this journey seems as if it just began let me look back and say how happy and excited I am to once overcome and complete one of my goal in life. I clearly remembered my first day at Galen University, thought I would never finish this program because numerous hindrances that I have confronted. This week have been one that I am so happy for yet baffled since I thought I would have gotten my final panel visit this week nevertheless, it is practically over. With the elegance and quality of God I can do all things. During this time we have had a few mishaps in our lesson because of having the Canadian Mission Praise and Worship Team and the New Horizon Group doing a presentation at our school on two separate dates anyways, I can considered
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has been an element of my life for the better part of elevens years. Remembering visits to my cousin's apartment were sometimes the highlight of the month. When my brother made the decision to attend UW-Stevens Point I was thrilled because of memories I knew I would get to relive. These two people have been a major factor in my life because they are the first of my generation in the family to graduate from college. The hard work put in from these two has given me a better understanding of what it takes to get through higher. Many people go to college for the experience you will be able to get and not the academic advancement opportunities. This is exactly why my family members have succeeded in this
While I attended a Royals game it was a hot summer's day on August 07.2015. It was 94 degrees outside but it felt like it was 107 degrees outside. When walking to the gates to the stadium it took a long time to get there because my family and I parked so far way. It felt like we walked a marathon because it was so long to walk there and it was hot outside. Once we got to the line I could feel the sweat drep down the back of my neck to my back and I did not like it. It made me all disgusting. Also in the line since everyone was so close together like a book on a shelf is close together, it did not make any better with the heat and the air was not blowing.
