East Carolina University is and has always been a dream school for many students including myself. I have grown up hearing about the University and it is nothing short of spectacular. Many family members of mine have attended East Carolina, and I have always pictured myself at this school. It would be an honor to be a pirate. My Northern State University (NSU) American Indian academic advisor, Lara Nelson has inspired me and encouraged me for the two years of my collegiate career to be extremely involved and active in leadership roles. She is the leader of the Native American Student Association at NSU as well, and has encouraged me to be an active participant in the association and consequently, I was elected as the treasurer of the association in September 2016 and I also serve as student advisor on the NSU American Indian Advisory Committee which serves under the direction of the university’s Provost. UNC Wilmington has been my top pick for the college I want to attend to obtain my Bachelor’s degree in Business ever since I was a Junior in high school. I applied for the fall 2016 to spring 2017 semester my senior year of high school and was not accepted into UNC Wilmington. I knew I had a big decision to make and I needed to figure out what I was going to do since I was not accepted into UNC Wilmington. I had been accepted to other universities and I could have easily attended one of them instead but I knew where I really wanted to be was UNC Wilmington. I finally made the decision to take one year at Cape Fear Community College and work hard to get my GPA up to where it needs to be in order to be considered for the fall 2017 semester. When my physics professor told me that, I was rather upset than happy. I am here to learn, not to only know couple of equations for the test. College classes are designed to challenge students, not to give easy A’s. My time with Harford Community College was great but not challenging enough. I desire more hands-on experience and research projects, which my community college both lack of. Wilmington started out as home, then became just a vacation. After years of moving and resisting the pull to move back, I finally made the best and brightest decision I think I have ever made. I am moving home, and in the process, I thought there would be no better place to further my education than The University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I have recently taken a year off in between high school and pursuing my college education, and frankly, I think it has been one of the most humbling experiences of my life. Looking back at my life to where I am now. I can honestly admit if I did not come to Community College my life would have been different. Here at community college I have made the most out of my experience I not only saved a significant amount of money but, furthermore I have grown not only with myself but with my grades as well. I struggled with a numerous of things in high school. However here at college I actually took the time to listen and observe. I have made friends and individuals that I can honestly call my family. I have taken the initiative to progress in my chosen fields.

Of this list, I chose UNC-W for a number of reasons. The main reason I chose this school was the location. UNC-W is centered in one of the largest cities in North Carolina. Within just a few miles, there is access to the beach and there is access to a flourishing city. Wilmington is also known for its breathtaking landscape. Being only an hour and a half from Goldsboro, I can quickly get home if needed. The University of North Carolina at Wilmington is known for its size, for the price reasonability, and for the Cameron School of Business.

My time at Boston College has opened up my eyes to various parts of the country and populations that I had not previously been exposed to and this has greatly shaped how I envision my medical career to be 10 years from now. At this point in the future I will still be starting out, getting the hang of things, learning what I am best at, what I need to improve on, and what I am most passionate about. As of right now, I imagine that 10 years from now I will be a general practitioner in an area of the country with limited access to medical care. This might mean in the mountains of West Virginia, a small town in Mississippi, or a secluded area in Alaska. I will be a doctor in an area of the country that needs doctors the most and I will be forming

During my visit to Arizona State University this summer, I was able to receive a unique tour of the campus thanks to current students, Claire and Maddie Grayson. The two sisters granted special access into some student-only buildings, and provided a great amount of information about the campus as well. Maddie, Claire, and Glenn Markov, a former ASU student and now current Stanford attendee, were also able to answer any questions that that I had regarding ASU.

This journey is designed to help Southeastern University develop a closer bond with me. All though I have face many situations with abandonment issues, bullying and suicide. These situations do not stop me from serving the Lord. You will enter the beginning of my relationship with God, growth with God, and why I am an academic and spiritual fit for Southeastern University.

I have always heard College being described as this grand experience where you will be challenged, meet these lifelong friends and have mental and personal growth. I was ecstatic to be accepted into Merrimack College, especially being the first generation to attend an institution. It gave me a sense of pride to attend this institution and I was joyful to be a Merrimack warrior. When I toured the college it just felt right. Merrimack prides themselves as being a small college that provides their students with a small community feel. Maybe it was the red carpet that they rolled out for my family and I that blinded me from seeing Merrimack for what it really is; a business where students are just treated as just a number and not as a young adult.
