I am a part of a community both small and large. It has united me with people who I would never expect to have relationships with and has made my world an even closer place. My musical community is filled with musician who shares passion unimaginable. Within the musical space I am a vocalist. I use my mode of expression to strengthen relationship, provided hope, and uplift spirits. I rely on other musicians to build me up and use their messages to build others; I do my part and give the same back. I have used my opportunities to perform to inspire and strengthen our common threads. I can recall a time singing the National Anthem, and despite political differences we had music, which balanced us, pulled us together. Music has strengthened
Most people wonder how the community i grew up in, helped shaped or make me the person i am today, and i'm here to answer that.
As I had mentioned earlier, I am part of an anti-drugs and alcohol club. I am extended the opportunity to speak to young students about the risks they could encounter. The feeling that those students may look up to us is very meaningful, and I feel it is a unique experience. I am lucky to have the chance to save a student's life through this club. Another community activity I enjoy doing is related to performing, but at senior citizen homes. Some of my friends and I often just like to get together with some music and go sing for them. This is a rewarding experience, as seeing the senior citizens smile, and making their day better, is truly a heartwarming experience every time I have the chance to perform for
I’ve been in choir now for three years. My first year was my freshman year. I decided to take an easy class and since I never had choir in middle school I decided to go for it. At first this all was strange for me because I didn’t know what I was doing. When we had our first concert, I thought it was kinda fun, and from then I knew I was going to enjoy choir. The first Pop’s concert we were getting ready and learning the dance and songs seemed so much fun, but I wasn’t able to attend because I left to Washington D.C for a week. So I enjoyed my freshmen year and decided to do choir again my sophomore year.
Jazz music can be performed in many different venues and setting. It can be performed in public place including indoor jazz clubs and outdoor jazz festival. When people are attending indoor concert setting jazz performance, it is good to expect a western classical because it considered well-mannered cheering after the artist completed improvised solo. Moreover, it is also acceptable among musicians.
Another thing at the Fall Fest was food. There was a ton of food like nachos. I wanted to try some nachos, but they were $3.50 for a small amount of them. The fact that the food was expensive for such a small portion is the only reason I wouldn’t want to pay for it. In school event like Fall Fest I also believe food should be free for all the students. It is supposed to be a school celebration right? Fall Fest and Spring Fest are special schoolwide events so why not have free food for those two events? A slice of pizza is the only food I even ate, which wasn’t very good at all might I add. My favorite food is probably pizza, but that pizza was not my favorite. Never have I been so disappointed with food in my
Music is the inventive procedure of making, performing, and reacting to sound for individual and aggregate importance. Through the procedures of making musical works, performing with voice and instrument, and reacting to our own particular and others' music, people and gatherings convey implications, convictions and qualities. Music engagement shapes our idea and movement, and is obvious from the most punctual phases of life. Music is a pervasive element of contemporary life. This is to a great extent since music, not at all like some other artistic expression, has the ability to successfully unite a gathering of individuals in light of a legitimate concern for a specific reason. In this way, while the experience of music serves to unite individuals
I could tell a story about how music has shaped my life and has became a necessity in my life. I could explain the importance of my religion and how it has transformed me into a better person. I could mention the fact that I have ADD and because of that I learned how to work hard. I could express my love of cooking, adventure, travel, literature, nutrition, and science, and the list could continue. However, I will not use any of those ideas that have been overused, I shall a tell of what some people may think to be an idea of make believe, but for me is a reality: superpowers. I happen to be gifted with the talent of being a Psychic, and i am especially lucky with the fact that this gene is recessive and both my parents have the non superpower dominant gene. The only downfall to this is knowing that other
The phrase “Regan, stop singing” is almost a running joke in my family. I’ll hear it all day long whether I’m doing homework, driving, washing the dishes, or eating at the dinner table. Music has always come naturally to me, and there is nothing I love to do more than singing. Pre-school introduced me to making music, and elementary music reinforced my love. These early experiences with music provided a love for the art which continued into my junior high and high school choral careers. In high school, music has been my haven, my safe place. I go to the music as an emotional outlet; I work to bring it to life, to create something bigger from the notes on the page. I have learned so much about myself from my dedication to singing, it taught me that hard work and determination can get you anywhere in life, but more than that, I have learned that the music is part of what has shaped me this far.
My passion for music has come to define who I am. When I perform, the instrument becomes a part of me as I tell a story to the audience through the language of music. I certainly hope my passion can lead others to find joy and beauty in music and
It helps me pick myself up like theres a quote in the song “Believe” it says “When you reach a certain point in your life , there are people out there waiting to see you fall but rather than let gravity take you down, sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands and fly” and it really inspires me to keep my head up because people used to get told things in 7th grade and i would listen to this song and when i did it literally woke me up and i told myself why am i letting these people get to me , im stronger than that, so little by little stronger.
I was wondering if you could give me some advice on how to deal with being so nervous about presenting tonight. Usually, I have a rubber band on my wrist to play with and flick, but I can not find one anywhere and the last time I used the flicking of a rubber band to distract me from the anxious feeling, I made a pretty nasty red mark on my wrist. I just wanted to know if you had any advice on what I could do to distract myself while presenting or to prepare myself.
Music has affected my life in many ways. Everyone listens to music, but not everyone appreciates and understands it. Almost everyone you ask will have a musician or band that has influenced their life in some special way. It has helped me develop personal goals, meet new people and realize music is a priority in my life.
There were many times where the overwhelming pressure to bring my family pride had taken a toll on my mentality, which resulted in me turning to music to cope with my struggles. Realizing that music had helped me in ways I’ve never even imagined inspired me to see what it could do for others, and how it can be beneficial to those who struggle in various ways. Shortly after this revelation, I began to take in interest in music therapy and its ability to help an immense number of people. If I could create music to help those in need, then I could live life contently
I would change my community so that we waste less food. Currently, many food sellers have strict rules in place which result in perfectly edible food being thrown out. I have frequently seen cafeteria workers at my school take away hot meals from students with insufficient funds, resulting in hungry students and fuller landfills. On a visit to Walmart recently, I watched customer service workers refund a consumer for returned, unopened food, and then promptly mark the goods as waste. After closing, restaurants will dispose of their unsold daily goods in garbage. I believe our community needs to stop feeding maggots and landfills and start feeding the
People say that music has the ability to heal a person mentally and spiritually. But to me, music is much more than just healing. It is a way for me to escape this world called reality and enter a world with in my imagination through the different beats, harmony, and chorus. Only when listening to music, I can truly feel all my emotions with each song having the power to make me remember, from painful to happy memories. As I grew up to be the person I am today, my music journey also grows with me. Looking back at it now, I would never want to change a single thing.
