From a young age, athletics were a very important part of my life and soccer was my passion. Whether it was playing on boy’s teams and summer leagues, or refereeing tournaments and coaching soccer camps, I was constantly trying to improve my game. When I came to college, I was excited to have the opportunity to continue playing soccer. Unfortunately, I received several concussions and I had some complications that ultimately forced me to stop playing soccer after my sophomore year. At first I was distraught, all of my personal goals were gone and I was no longer working with my teammates toward the goals we set together. However, I realized I needed to find new interests and new objectives to work towards during the rest of my time in college.
On April 11, I have set two goals on my writing. During the pass two month, I haven’t fogotten the goals I’ve set for my improvement after receving so many 3 or 3-‘s. So I’ve been continuesly woring on my goals while writing stuffs. My goals were to improve my vocabularry and grammar on my writing works. Not too hard right?
Starting high school can be a little scary, especially when you have no guidance from siblings, like me, being the first one from my family to have an education. But that did not stop me from succeeding, I?ve always been confident and determined. I?m an enthusiastic when it comes to trying new things. Who would have thought I was going to be a good athlete plus a book geek, when in my past years I was just a regular kid. I was pretty excited about joining a club that had a connection with high school, that way I didn?t have to start from zero, I always want to be a step ahead. Fortunately, in summer, a high school coach was recruiting freshmen for running either cross country or track, they both involve running, so I considered it like the same sport with different timing. And this is when it all started. Running
My first short-term SMART goal will be to draft boiler plate contracts for my team and clients by January 1st, 2017. This is specific in that I know who these contracts are for. One will be a contract for people working for me. It will clearly define the split we receive from any clients, as well as clearly articulate a non-compete policy that will protect my business from workers who want to steal clients. The second contract will be for parents who want regular work done for their families. I will benefit from the increased security these contracts provide, and the families will benefit from a discounted price, as well as guaranteed service during busy seasons. This goal is measurable in that it can be 0% complete, with no contracts written, 50% complete with one contract written, or 100% complete with both contracts written. This goal is achievable because two months is a reasonable amount of time to write two contracts. It is relevant because it addresses certain business needs that have been overlooked in the course of me wearing multiple business hats. It is time bound because I have set a short term date, and intend to stick to it.
2017 Women in Leadership Conference has opened my eyes and my heart to a wonderful world of opportunities. These successful and inspirational speakers; Dr. Wendy Murphy and Bentina Terry, along with the list of phenomenal of panelist really stood out with ear piercing words like be myself and be confident in what I know. Having mentors would be one key to my success that I learned and can begin today. Mentors provide support, motivation, understanding, and guidance. The one last thing to drive it home was Bentina Terry outstanding and unforgettable lecture. I will never forget her words of Boundless instead, of fearless, who’s going to stop me, and never jump if I don’t have wings. The needed learning tools given in this
I think that the most important aspect that Peters stresses is image building. My end state goal is to become a College Professor. So surrounding myself around like minded people as well as building a relationship with the heads of the department would aid in building a reputation that can be called upon come the time I can make the transition toward my end state goal. As we see in the news almost on a daily basis gossip in politics has profoundly negative effects. Any thing that could be construed in a negative manner will look poorly upon you. Best practice is to stick to the known facts and stay professional. Attitude is everything and maintaining a "cheerful disposition" works two fold as one setting yourself up to be more positive and
As I have soared through the years at Austin High School, my mind has stayed indecisive about my career goals. I am still on the fence about my career choice because it is absolutely imperative to me that I choose the most fulfilling path. My goals and dreams have meandered all the way from wanting to be a Veterinarian, to an Astronomer, to a life coach, to an addiction counselor and finally to a farmer. I have came to the conclusion that it is going to be close to impossible to tie myself down to only one career. I have a variety driven personality, and I have my best times doing things I have never done before. I have decided to combine some of my interests and enter the field of Earth Science and run my own dance studio/fitness center.
One thing that I feel everyone should know about me, to really understand who I am, would be what I do with music in my life. I think that the kind of music people listen to defines them more than what that person could ever put into words.
Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles has taught me that home is anywhere away from the drug and gang infested streets. I came into this world not knowing that the place I was born in would forever change and build the person I am today. Growing up I was faced with obstacles that I overcame which would forever determine my destiny. Growing up I could careless not knowing what was right from wrong, I was just an ordinary kid being influenced by the world around me. My determination to succeed in life sets me apart from other candidates applying to the University of California. My determination is motivated by my attitude to achieve success. This sets me apart from everyone else because of my unique background and my experiences that made
Everyone believes in different things. Some people believe in barbecue, some people believe in Shakespearean sonnets, and even some people believe in shrek. But me, I believe in running. It has benefited me more than I could have ever imagined, and shaped me into the person I am today.
For a long time I’ve watched and admired successful women such as Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama work to achieve their goals. That has inspired me to set my own goals and check them off upon completion. I started out in the third grade aiming for honor roll and I made it. In the 7th grade once I realized how powerful I was and that I could do anything my list of goals grew bigger and bigger. I wanted to make the track team and I did it, I wanted to make the National Junior Honor Society and because of hard work and dedication I did it. I was empowered and I was moving through my list of short term goals and nothing was stopping me. Now I’m in high school and my goals in life became more relative to where I wanted to be in the future.
When life begins, I believe each person has a story to be told. The story of my life, may not be an ordinary life experience. Many things have shaped and changed me into who I am today. I believe that think that has the most effect on individuals, are the people they meet and those who shape their lives. Here is the story of my life and who and what made me into the person I am today.
Who am I today? I see a man with potential. As I see myself right now I am pretty proud of myself and thankful. I am thankful for the opportunities that have been given to me such as being able to go to a very well known college prep school and I am thankful, and I know it sounds cheesy, for parents that love me and support me and give me a kick in the butt when they see me slacking a little bit.
As a freshman I know it is important to make goals for myself to get through high school. I must also set goals in my personal life and my career. Setting goals now can help me be what I want to become. With goals I know that I must plan ahead for college and my future career. If I plan ahead now I will be able to turn my dreams into realities.
“This raises a major red flag in your direction. Makes me think you aren’t telling the truth.”
