I am Joshua Visbal, a freelance photographer and avid reader of your magazine. I would love to contribute my photography for Scout Magazine. Shooting photographs for Scout would be an honor. I have always imagined contributing for a magazine that is true to the art and its aesthetics. Me, being a photographer and an artist myself has envisioned collaborating with like-minded individuals. I am open to meeting the team and would love to work with various creative people in your roster. If you guys are interested, feel free to check out my works here and see if the shoe fits. I have also attached my PDF portfolio for more information about what I do. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Thank
I also reached out to Raymond, who definitely is open to helping us take our team photo. I am checking the teams availability, (using scheduling assistant), then I will send out an email checking on everyone’s telework schedule to make sure that they would be able to attend. Raymond also stated that we would be able to take the photo here, in Dem II or outside.
Alex Kotlowitz met Lafeyette and Pharoah Rivers in 1985 while working as a journalist. He was interviewing them for a photo essay in Chicago magazine on children living in poverty. The violence that occurred every day where the brothers lived in Governor Henry Horner Homes, or Horner, disturbed Kotlowitz. Lafeyette and Pharoah are 12 and 9 years old at the start of the book but have experienced more than many kids their age. The boys did not seem sure of what life held for them. Lafeyette told Kotlowitz, “If I grow up, I’d like to be a bus driver,” Lafeyette was not sure that he would grow up at just 10 years old (x). Kotlowitz wanted to show what it is like for children growing up in urban poverty after seeing the brothers’
As a photographer, it isn’t easy to have a plan for total success. If you want companies to be banging down your door to have you working for them, you’re going to have to put some effort into it.

After the the first shot I took my mind went blank. The adrenaline that flowed throughout my body, the feelings of rush, excitement, and success all in one combination of emotions. These were the feelings I had no idea excited until after that moment. Although I had a slight ache in my shoulder due to the force of the 12 gauge shotgun pushing against my shoulder. I was at a lost of words my only reactions was to run, run as fast as I could to get to the dying turkey. Once there the turkey was not fully dead yet It was still flopping around and blood camp oozing out splattering me. Looking at the suffering bird I places my boot on it head to the ground, then grabbed the turkey's body pulling it so its
This photo journal assignment was very interesting and educational. It helped me look outside the box and to really relate geography to my everyday life. My first relatable topic that I came in contact with during this assignment was the process of evaporation. At Dry Creek park in Modesto, CA, I witnessed evaporation taking place in the creek. I have been going to this park for quite some time and in the summer, water levels decrease drastically. Evaporation is one of the four phases in the hydrologic cycle (water cycle). According to our Geosystems Eighth Edition book, Christopherson say, “Water travels endlessly through the hydrosphere, atmosphere, lithosphere and biosphere. [...] Currents of water, vapor, ice and energy are flowing

It’s five in the morning as I rise, throw on some layers and mentally prepare myself to stand out in the freezing cold till eleven handing out water and gatorade to runners. Growing up, I always had the values of service and leadership hardwired into my brain from my parents and the Boy Scouts because of getting involved with them so early in my life. Now that I am older, I am beyond grateful for this upbringing because they are two very important values that are often overlooked or misinterpreted by many people. My biggest display of these virtues was my Eagle Scout Project and the fundraising for it that I performed in my sophomore year.
My top photos were chosen, because they all have optimal exposure. Which is one of the most important aspects of photography. These five photos were the ones with the most clarity and they incorporated different angles. I really liked capturing the raindrops on the flowers and leaves. It had a unique element to the pictures.
My name paints a picture worth more than one hundred words. In Greek, it means god-given, but here in the United States it is worthless. It means hard work. It means high quality. It stands for sensitivity. It is like the number 4, blocky, bold, and beaming. With a sweet taste of victory with the payoff of hard work. Teddy looks like an electrifying, hair-raising roller-coaster with sensational loop-the-loops. It smells like sweat hitting the hard, musty basketball court, creating a sense of hope to work better than the man standing next to me. Although, maybe a different name could work. One lengthy that provides a sense of lofty goals. Malachi should do, as it also paints a picture worth even more than that of Teddy. Finally, I found the
