Lesly Campos Running defines who I am today Starting high school can be a little scary, especially when you have no guidance from siblings, like me, being the first one from my family to have an education. But that did not stop me from succeeding, I?ve always been confident and determined. I?m an enthusiastic when it comes to trying new things. Who would have thought I was going to be a good athlete plus a book geek, when in my past years I was just a regular kid. I was pretty excited about joining a club that had a connection with high school, that way I didn?t have to start from zero, I always want to be a step ahead. Fortunately, in summer, a high school coach was recruiting freshmen for running either cross country or track, they both involve running, so I considered it like the same sport with different timing. And this is when it all started. Running
My Resume doesn’t stray from the classic style of resumes to much at least not the first two portions of the resume. Once we get to the bottom of my resume I split my skills into two columns so I could use as much space as possible to define me as a hard working with plenty of experience in design, writing, and communication specifically.
I believe you can achieve anything you want in life with hard work, dedication, and passion. There are many experiences I have gone through that have helped shaped who I am today. I may not have control over certain situations, but I have a choice on how it affects me.
My current strengths according to the LifeStyle Management Health Risk Inventory, is that I am punctual in seeing a primary care provider, whom I have seen in the past two years, it was suggested that it is of vital importance to do so, as a PCP can provide helpful information about my health and how I can improve any health problems I may have. Another strength of mine is that I get the flu shot on a regular basis, it is important to do so, as the flu virus does not spread to those who I am around and protects me from the virus. According to the LifeStyle Management Health Risk Inventory, my BMI is 21.03, which puts me in the healthy weight bracket, maintaining my weight in a healthy range will lower my risk for heart disease, cancer and other
My writing portfolio includes my best work that was completed within The Beginners Creative Writing class. I must say that this class was completely different from what I thought it was going to be like. I assumed that it would be like any other "English" class. I was very wrong.
Have you ever felt robbed of a childhood? At the age of six, I was placed into the DYFS system. I moved from house to house, not really having the chance to grow up like normal children. I didn’t get to experience things such as ; asking my older
A Life Long Mentor As a Venezuelan international student, sharing my voice in English has been a challenge. When I first came to the Community College of Aurora, fear clearly affected my learning process and social life. As I struggled with the language barrier, I received a call from the school to attend a Student Government meeting, where I first met Kathryn Sturtevant. Since then, she strived to discover and understand my professional and personal goals and has pushed me to overcome challenges that have shaped me as a better human being. As advisor of the Student Government Association in which I am Vice-President, Kathryn has incorporated a variety of trainings such as Strengths Quest and True Colors that are meaningfully aimed to improve and empower not only myself but
I took Engl 131 last quarter and the portfolio that I submitted was my biggest accomplishment in writing. I was very proud with the result because it comprised all my effort from the whole quarter. The portfolio included six essays and explanations for each outcome of the course. It marked my improvement in writing from proving how the essays have been refined in every draft. The essays focused on the topics of audience, genres and rhetorical skills.
An important part of every humans life is having something they believe in. Having something to care about is essential for people to reach their full potential in life. People need a special person in their life, or a great job that sparks passion in them to bring them happiness. There are many of these types of passions in my life but to better understand who I am, there isn't just one, there are three people who have shaped the young adult I am today. My two little sisters and my little brother. However they aren't exactly normal siblings, they were given to us by the City of Cincinnati for temporary care, while their mothers tried to recover from heroin addiction and battled in court to explain why their child was hospitalized because of a lack of food.
Everything that I have attained in the past helped define who I am today. Everything I have gone through and have done in the previous years of my life molded me into the person I am today. Not only have they shaped me into who I am; but also guided me in discovering the potentials I did not realize that I had. Without the challenges and hardships of the past, I know that I would not be who I am today.
I believe that what really sets me apart from the other candidates applying to the University of California is that I am willing to go the extra mile that the other candidates are not. I am hard working and what I really mean by when I say “I am willing to go the extra mile that the other candidates are not” I mean that I am not afraid to do what it takes, I have the determination to back up what I say and the actions I take and that is what really sets me apart from the other candidates.
My legacy can be remembered by a lot of people if I want it to. It all depends on how I put myself out there, and I want to be out there to be remembered. When people think about me, I want them to think positive thoughts. I would like to be thought of as a person who was very kind, funny, helpful, smart, and other good character traits like that. Having these personality traits can make my other classmates better at what they do in school. But, if I do something wrong, or incorrect if I leave a bad trail for for my classmates to follow that means that's how those people are going to remember me as. I know for a fact that is not how I want people to think about somewhere in the future or right know in the present.
My personal accomplishment has taught me a lot about myself and who I am as a person. It taught me how much strength I actually have within myself that I never in a million years thought I had. It was hundred times more difficult that I thought it was going
Fortunately for me my personal, professional, and education goals is one in the same. My goal is to one day preach and teach the word of God. I must first equip myself with the skills necessary to bring forth God’s word. I understand being able to be an effective communicator and a critical thinker are some skills that I will need in order to be successful in my ministry. Being a responsible leader is very important in today’s society. I want to not only a have church of my own, but go aside the four walls so I can be a global citizen with the gifts God has gave me spreading Christianity through the world.
Starting a new school in a new state is already stressful enough; now add being rushed to the hospital for the first time and you have a very terrified 9 year old. It was my first asthma attack, and at the time I did not know what was going on besides the fact that I felt like someone was sitting on my chest. Between being loaded into the ambulance, and wondering if I was going to die, this is one of my strongest childhood memories, but not for the reasons you think. Once I got to the hospital, I was checked into a room, and a physician came in and sat with me as we waited for my parents. The one thing I remember most from that experience wasn’t the treatment, or how smart he was, but the compassion he showed to me. This is what made that experience
