On June 20th, my family and I went on a road trip to Virginia. We decided to visit Kings Dominion, which is a theme and waterpark. It was a sunny, hot day with a lot of people there. My siblings and I got on “The Volcano”. We had to wait in line for about forty five minutes but it was worth it. First, we took out our phones and shoes so they wouldn’t fall off during the ride and put them in a storage they had off to the side. Then, we buckled ourselves in and I was so excited for this ride to take off. After the workers came around and made sure we were buckled in, the ride moved very slowly into a dark tunnel. Then, all of a sudden we were all pulled back into our seats because the coaster zoomed so fast forward into the tunnel. When it sped
Tomorrow at noon i will be getting picked up early from school. My family and I are leaving to go to Virginia Beach. Where it's always hot and the air smells like salt from the ocean. I am hoping that in the three days we are there i can go parasailing. Also i would like to go charter boat fishing, i called and asked how much it would be and they said it would only be thirty five dollars a person and u get to keep what u catch. My mom called the parasailing place and they said the have three different types of flying. The first one u can go up eight hundred feet, the second one was nine hundred and the third one was a thousand feet off the ground. If i do go parasailing i am going to go all out. Even though i am afraid of heights i am getting
Well the week of our trip to Memphis Tennessee had finally arrived ! My colleagues Beverly,
In recent days I had the opportunity to go back to North Carolina for a few short days. There, with a heavy heart from a loss in the family, I had nothing else to look towards. I’ve always heard of individuals finding peace, faith, blessings, and love of Christ from attending church. I’ve never been a person who put their faith into a higher power. As I was growing up my parents never wanted to force me into any religion without me knowing everything about it and choosing which route to take on my own. As the years treaded on, I never bothered myself to learn about the many different religions and what each stands for. So I used this opportunity as mine to attend church for the very first time. I attended the Roman Catholic services held
West Virginia has always been a part of my life, although I am not a resident. When I think of the state the first things that come to mind are college, beauty, and friends. My family has had ties for many years to West Virginia. My mother attended West Virginia Wesleyan College and my relation to the state grew stronger when I chose to attend WVWC. In the past three years I have become enamored with the state and all it has to offer. The pure, wild, beauty of the state is something I will never forget. From orienteering to the top of Spruce Knob with other students in the honor’s program to white water rafting the lower Gauley River with my roommates, I have enjoyed exploring West Virginia. During my time in West Virginia I have learned more
The only state I have ever known as home is North Carolina. I was born and raised in Charlotte and the only time I have ever moved away was last year to start a new chapter of my life as a college student. Growing up in Charlotte has had such an impact on what I plan to do with my future. As a young child I always thought of Charlotte as the next best thing to New York City. I shortly realized after visiting that was not quite the case. New York City introduced me to a new world of opportunity.
This year’s family vacation was one for the books. With my aunt living in Tennessee, we do not get together as often as we would like so my family decided to go to Nashville, Tennessee. When we started our trip, it was 6 a.m. and it was nothing short of fun and laughter along the way. Never having been to Tennessee before, I figured I’d enjoy the eight-hour ride of sight-seeing and laughter with my family. When we were a few miles into the trip, the mountains of Georgia were breathtaking. While I was enjoying the scenery, another thing that I found enjoyable about this trip was the conversation that I had with my family. We went on talking about life in general, all the struggles, and childhood memories that we had. We even talked about years
Have you ever expected an unfavorable outcome from an experience, yet were shocked with the best? Nashville, Tennessee is the city where I was able to realize that I have the potential to do great things with my life. It was the middle of June at the 2016 HOSA International Leadership Conference, and I was sixteen years old. At this time, I had been dealing with anxiety and depression for so long that I never thought I would be able to make an accomplishment that meant something to others and myself. This trip helped me realize that I am capable of more than I think.
This summer I went to Maryland for the first time and met my family that is over there.
I thought today would be just another normal day in chilled Maryland, but oh could I have been more wrong. The day started out just like every other. My little eleven-year-old heart was full of jubilance. I was having an admirable day with all my friends, and I had no worries. None of my siblings knew that an event that night at dinner was about to change our lives for better or for worse. My family and I sat down at aged table and we could all feel the tension that surrounded the air. “We have something to tell you guys, and we don’t want you to get upset” declared my mother. This statement made me nervous. Anytime some says not to get upset, you know something has happened that is going to change your entire live. “We are moving
One year ago this morning on April 11/2016 I arrived to Charlotte, North Carolina after four day trip on Amtrack train. From San Jose, California to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Two years ago we went to our vacation Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It was my first time in Tennessee, and I love it. When we went to the Gas station this guy offer us a one hundred but we have to go to the orientation first and then they will pay us. When we went there after the orientation the company want to sell of a timeshare but we do not have that amount of money and we reject the offer. They sell us a vacation packet to see if later on we would like to buy with them. We buy the vacation packet and we used it last year at Branson, Missouri. The view of the timeshare that we stay was incredible. We like that place a
I was living in West Virginia I was there studying. West Virginia is known for its beautiful mountains and views. Thousands of people come from all over the world to experience the beauty of West Virginia. A couple friends and myself decided to go Hiking near Blackwater Falls State park which is around two hours from where I lived. I was very excited as I have never been hiking before.there was six of us all together and we decided to go on July tenth.
If, I could choose where I would like to visit I would chose Washington, D.C. I went to Washington, D.C. for the summer I would like to go to Washington to get on the Metro, and so I can go to the malls and the amusement parks. This is why I would love to go Washington D.C again this summer.
During spring break this year, my friend David Fong invited me to go with him to Six Flags in New Jersey. Because I never have been to Six Flags, my parents agreed to let me go with David. I was very excited to go on this trip! David’s sisters and his brother all went to the aquarium, so we decided to go the same time they were going the aquarium. David’s dad volunteered to drive David and me to the amusement park.
It was a sunny, clear day. School had ended nearly three weeks before, and I was ready for some adventure. My family found this amusement park online, and had been longing to go since that day. I was skeptical at first, mainly because of my fear of heights, especially on rides like roller coasters. Before this day, I had never thought of even going to an amusement park. I was a simple kid, just living day by day. My summers consisted of listening to music, playing games on my computer, and occasionally read a Nancy Drew book
