I was working on homework today when the thought occurred to me that I had never been to my school of choice Sabin. I wanted to know if I should park at PSU and find public transportation to Sabin or will there be room for parking at the school? No matter what I will be there tomorrow morning, ready for this exciting new
Abeka academy (non-accredited) has been wonderful for our family. When we started with Abeka, I had no idea it was going to be one of the hardest years of my life. I am so glad we chose it, and I felt it was the Lords leading, but now it is time to make some changes. We have needed to have a pretty rigid schedule this year. I know some people feel they can relax with Abeka, but for our family we felt constricted. We love schedules, but don't like feeling like we are being suffocated by our curriculum.
Students will park in the front parking lot only to allow for visitor parking. We encourage students to carpool or ride the bus because parking is extremely limited. We will have staff members directly student parking efforts, both in the morning and at lunch.
My personal faith grows daily by my choice to follow my love and savior, Jesus, every day I wake up. It was by no accident that God showed me Liberty University, and has now become a top option in my choices of colleges. I believe in the deep mission Liberty University has to develop Christ-centered believers because it is the same mission I strive to live out daily in my walk as a follower of Christ. My season of life will not always be the same as someone else's, but I pray that what I have walked through and what God taught me in those seasons can give perspective to others. I have grown up always knowing God but not until my sophomore year in high school did I truly start to live that out. I took two opportunities in the past two years
My SAE resides in Farview Animal hospital as an assistant for the veterinarians. I assist in holding animals, trimming nails, monitoring for surgeries, and much, much more. However, I wasn’t always working for them. I had my first experience at Farview when I went for job shadow day and after seeing everyone on the staff work as a team to give the animals the best care possible, I decided that would be the place I wanted to start my SAE. In the beginning I would simply come into the room with them and view their work, taking mental notes as we went along. Then, one day, the chief vet came up to me and offered me a position as veterinary assistant. Since then I have been working alongside the people who I consider a family, but there is not
During my two last years of high school, i've been in contact with a lot of colleges and universities. Many of which don’t get my attention. Throughout my whole high school years, there was only one college that i wanted to go to, Liberty University. I have heard so many wonderful things about Liberty and what i loved the most was that it was a christian school. Liberty had the number one thing that i am looking for in a college, that is a christian school, but many of my other things that i look for in a college where just not there. I used to live in Florida approximately 11 years ago and let me tell you, it's hard not to miss the sunshine state. Liberty is in Virginia, a state where it doesn't feel like home. When i received a brochure
HELLO GUYS!!! I have something veryyyyyyyy important to tell you! After all of my stressing about FAFSA ( Free Application Federal Student Aid) , Colleges, and Transportation, I decided to further my education at Rowan University. It took me a long time to make this decision because this wasn’t my first choice! My first choice/ dream school was LIU Brooklyn ( Long Island University) in Brooklyn, New York. I was recently accepted there and planned on attending there, but their out-of-state tuition was extremely high! Their tuition was $33,000 a year and poor black man like myself, cannot afford it. I really loved LIU because it's a great school, beautiful campus, and most of all, it's in New York. I had my whole planned before it even started,
As I sat on the couch getting ready for the first day back at school, I heard the phone in the kitchen ring. I stood up to go answer it and I heard loud footsteps coming down the stairs. My mother was running down the stairs to answer it just in case it was one of her work calls. I noticed that her voice started to crack as if she was going to cry and the smile that she once had on her face had disappeared. The person on the other end of the phone was my Uncle Dylan from California calling to let us know that Aunt Liz had died in a car wreck. We were so devastated but little did we know she left me $12k. A couple days later I received a letter in the mail saying that I had to use it to help pay for my tuition. I am looking to attend the nursing program at Lindenwood, Missouri State, or St. Louis University.
I remember waking up and looking out the window for the first time just to see a gigantic white pole with long, stretching fingers coming out of the top. It was just like a huge fan flowing very slow, as that’s where my 10 year old mind lead me. As we traveled, we finally hit a town that read welcome to Normal, Illinois. I felt so lost as we pulled through a different college town. While Illinois State University's campus isn’t similar to Purdue Universities, I was still having flashbacks of the enjoyment and memories I had made in Lafayette, Indiana. All of this was happening because my dad had just got a job as a football coach at Illinois State.
My study at Howard Community College has helped me pick out a major that I know I will love pursuing for the rest of my life. HCC was a great way for me to learn the introductions to pertaining to my major. Although HCC was a considerable start, it had limited programs and resources that could have guided me in the long run.
First time going High school. Today I visited family education center in Chicago Avenue with my mother and three siblings. We all take the replacement test. Everyone get a good scores. But mine was less then 3.point. They told me to go wellstone high school while my other siblings went south high school. after one week I visited wellstone school. While I was looking the school I was so tired.so I thought no way I'm not going this school ever away but I filled the application forms and gave them the envelope I got from the education center. After that week I started to look different school that's close to my home . and one I found Lincol high school. I thought wow this is nice close to my home also had a school bus. Ever summer end I started
Yes, I have found myself in a situation where I felt I misinterpreted a non-verbal or verbal signal / cue with someone of another culture. Chaminade University of Honolulu is a diverse school. During my first semester at Chaminade, I was dorming with two different girls with two different cultures. An incident happened when my roommate sister came to visit all the way from England. When my roommate wanted to take a picture of all three of us, I held up a peace sign. It was an embarrassing moment because after the picture was taken, her sister gave me a weird look. That’s when my roommate took me to the side and explained to me that a peace sign is considered offensive. I really didn’t know at the time. I apologized for my wrongdoing. After
As the sun started trickling into the windows, students were just starting to arrive at South Christian High School. As the few students that showed up early walked through the halls making their way towards their light blue lockers, one of the many lined up along the walls in between the classrooms. Some were decorated with sports signs, some of those with anchors lettered with the surnames of the owner of the locker. You could hear the clock ticking, counting down every minute until it would send out an ear-piercing ring and send students shuffling off to their first class of the day.
2014 Fall Semester in the begining was going pretty good i was excited to began school , adapting to the new college life, and interacting with friends and new people. I was attending all my classes on time , studying , and completing the required assigments that needed to be done. I also was working a full-time at Gensis Logistics it wasnt easy trying to manage my schedule , but i tried to make it work the best i could. MTE 1 , 3 , and SDV was a breeze to me I was completing my assigments , studying , and understanding the information that was given to me. Now on the otherhand ENG wasn't hard for me i just didnt understand the content that was teached by the teacher. English was always the strongest subject for me so i couldnt understand why it was such a problem in college , maybe it was the teacher and her teaching methods. I never understood any information that was given it seemed to me like our class was always off topic one class period we would talk english, and then another class period we would talk about something else besides english. Then she assigned papers and assigments that was unfamilar to me it seem like everytime she assigned the class papers
I find myself reading this short paragraph over and over(above). My topic sentence makes me happy and proud. Going back to school was the best thing I have done. I chose to talk about going back to school to the “future employer” because it shows I am motivated as well as dedicated. This class has brought a lot to my attention. The mannerism that is expected in the “business world” is to speak and write well. It is extremely important to know how to write (type) a meaning full and proper paper whether it is for school or work. I have noticed a great impact in my vocabulary and writing skills. My boss told me on Monday he is impressed with the new docs I typed up for our new clients (with no help from him). I was not excited about this class
When my mom told me that a letter had to be written for me to be able to attend the LIFE Charter school in North Shore, I said I wanted to help. I feel that by me explaining, you may be able to understand better why I chose to switch. It may seem unusual that I chose to switch schools for my last year when I have been going to Richmond since I was four. Trust me, I understand this. I’ve been told enough times. There are a couple of main reasons as to why I wanted to switch from Richmond, to LIFE. When I have told them to you, maybe you will get a better idea of why this switch was something that I wanted to make happen.
