Abeka academy (non-accredited) has been wonderful for our family. When we started with Abeka, I had no idea it was going to be one of the hardest years of my life. I am so glad we chose it, and I felt it was the Lords leading, but now it is time to make some changes. We have needed to have a pretty rigid schedule this year. I know some people feel they can relax with Abeka, but for our family we felt constricted. We love schedules, but don't like feeling like we are being suffocated by our curriculum.
As an adult student at Colorado Christian I'm proud to say that I never thought of even continuing my education. Only due to the fact that I have a child and a full time job. Finding out that I was able to pursue my education online is the next best thing thats ever happened to me. Understanding that I can learn from home and still be a mother has given me so much confidence. I feel like I'll have the degree I desire in absolutely no time.
During my two last years of high school, i've been in contact with a lot of colleges and universities. Many of which don’t get my attention. Throughout my whole high school years, there was only one college that i wanted to go to, Liberty University. I have heard so many wonderful things about Liberty and what i loved the most was that it was a christian school. Liberty had the number one thing that i am looking for in a college, that is a christian school, but many of my other things that i look for in a college where just not there. I used to live in Florida approximately 11 years ago and let me tell you, it's hard not to miss the sunshine state. Liberty is in Virginia, a state where it doesn't feel like home. When i received a brochure
My educational history is very diverse. I went to Catholic school from kindergarten to sixth grade, then went to public school from seventh to twelfth grade. The transition from Catholic school to public school was very complicated but at the same time it was effortless. I did not have to wear a uniform, go to church, or learn religion anymore.
My personal faith grows daily by my choice to follow my love and savior, Jesus, every day I wake up. It was by no accident that God showed me Liberty University, and has now become a top option in my choices of colleges. I believe in the deep mission Liberty University has to develop Christ-centered believers because it is the same mission I strive to live out daily in my walk as a follower of Christ. My season of life will not always be the same as someone else's, but I pray that what I have walked through and what God taught me in those seasons can give perspective to others. I have grown up always knowing God but not until my sophomore year in high school did I truly start to live that out. I took two opportunities in the past two years
HELLO GUYS!!! I have something veryyyyyyyy important to tell you! After all of my stressing about FAFSA ( Free Application Federal Student Aid) , Colleges, and Transportation, I decided to further my education at Rowan University. It took me a long time to make this decision because this wasn’t my first choice! My first choice/ dream school was LIU Brooklyn ( Long Island University) in Brooklyn, New York. I was recently accepted there and planned on attending there, but their out-of-state tuition was extremely high! Their tuition was $33,000 a year and poor black man like myself, cannot afford it. I really loved LIU because it's a great school, beautiful campus, and most of all, it's in New York. I had my whole planned before it even started,
2014 Fall Semester in the begining was going pretty good i was excited to began school , adapting to the new college life, and interacting with friends and new people. I was attending all my classes on time , studying , and completing the required assigments that needed to be done. I also was working a full-time at Gensis Logistics it wasnt easy trying to manage my schedule , but i tried to make it work the best i could. MTE 1 , 3 , and SDV was a breeze to me I was completing my assigments , studying , and understanding the information that was given to me. Now on the otherhand ENG wasn't hard for me i just didnt understand the content that was teached by the teacher. English was always the strongest subject for me so i couldnt understand why it was such a problem in college , maybe it was the teacher and her teaching methods. I never understood any information that was given it seemed to me like our class was always off topic one class period we would talk english, and then another class period we would talk about something else besides english. Then she assigned papers and assigments that was unfamilar to me it seem like everytime she assigned the class papers
I remember waking up and looking out the window for the first time just to see a gigantic white pole with long, stretching fingers coming out of the top. It was just like a huge fan flowing very slow, as that’s where my 10 year old mind lead me. As we traveled, we finally hit a town that read welcome to Normal, Illinois. I felt so lost as we pulled through a different college town. While Illinois State University's campus isn’t similar to Purdue Universities, I was still having flashbacks of the enjoyment and memories I had made in Lafayette, Indiana. All of this was happening because my dad had just got a job as a football coach at Illinois State.
When my mom told me that a letter had to be written for me to be able to attend the LIFE Charter school in North Shore, I said I wanted to help. I feel that by me explaining, you may be able to understand better why I chose to switch. It may seem unusual that I chose to switch schools for my last year when I have been going to Richmond since I was four. Trust me, I understand this. I’ve been told enough times. There are a couple of main reasons as to why I wanted to switch from Richmond, to LIFE. When I have told them to you, maybe you will get a better idea of why this switch was something that I wanted to make happen.
I find myself reading this short paragraph over and over(above). My topic sentence makes me happy and proud. Going back to school was the best thing I have done. I chose to talk about going back to school to the “future employer” because it shows I am motivated as well as dedicated. This class has brought a lot to my attention. The mannerism that is expected in the “business world” is to speak and write well. It is extremely important to know how to write (type) a meaning full and proper paper whether it is for school or work. I have noticed a great impact in my vocabulary and writing skills. My boss told me on Monday he is impressed with the new docs I typed up for our new clients (with no help from him). I was not excited about this class
As the sun started trickling into the windows, students were just starting to arrive at South Christian High School. As the few students that showed up early walked through the halls making their way towards their light blue lockers, one of the many lined up along the walls in between the classrooms. Some were decorated with sports signs, some of those with anchors lettered with the surnames of the owner of the locker. You could hear the clock ticking, counting down every minute until it would send out an ear-piercing ring and send students shuffling off to their first class of the day.
Yes, I have found myself in a situation where I felt I misinterpreted a non-verbal or verbal signal / cue with someone of another culture. Chaminade University of Honolulu is a diverse school. During my first semester at Chaminade, I was dorming with two different girls with two different cultures. An incident happened when my roommate sister came to visit all the way from England. When my roommate wanted to take a picture of all three of us, I held up a peace sign. It was an embarrassing moment because after the picture was taken, her sister gave me a weird look. That’s when my roommate took me to the side and explained to me that a peace sign is considered offensive. I really didn’t know at the time. I apologized for my wrongdoing. After
My SAE resides in Farview Animal hospital as an assistant for the veterinarians. I assist in holding animals, trimming nails, monitoring for surgeries, and much, much more. However, I wasn’t always working for them. I had my first experience at Farview when I went for job shadow day and after seeing everyone on the staff work as a team to give the animals the best care possible, I decided that would be the place I wanted to start my SAE. In the beginning I would simply come into the room with them and view their work, taking mental notes as we went along. Then, one day, the chief vet came up to me and offered me a position as veterinary assistant. Since then I have been working alongside the people who I consider a family, but there is not
S is for school I don't like school one bit but I have had some good things come from school. Like file trips and other thing but what I remember closely is when we played with fire. It was a cold December day we were two days from rapping up an assignment form science. The assignment was to so what would happen to 4 different substances they were placed in water, vinegar, fire and one other one I don't remember at this point in time. To day was the fire one you knew by the faces of some kids that they were going to do something bad. I was one of them but not in the why you think. I was going to try and burn the substance to a crisps. We charge though the room looking for are equipment and are partners. Once we got the try we
My SAE is on small animal production, my project is a very hands on production that involves a lot of time and effort. In my SAE I participate in fairs such as Florida state fair, and the Miami-Dade county youth fair in the fair I take part of the youth rabbit show. What I do in the fair is be apart of two coemption which are rabbit showmanship and breed ID. What showmanship is basically giving a rabbit a physical in front of the judge, and breed ID is when they have a certain amount of various breeds of rabbit in a cage and you have to be able to identify the breed and what type of color it is. My SAE project is related to the proficiency award because it helps me develop in many new skills. One person who had made me become more intrested
