For a long time I’ve watched and admired successful women such as Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama work to achieve their goals. That has inspired me to set my own goals and check them off upon completion. I started out in the third grade aiming for honor roll and I made it. In the 7th grade once I realized how powerful I was and that I could do anything my list of goals grew bigger and bigger. I wanted to make the track team and I did it, I wanted to make the National Junior Honor Society and because of hard work and dedication I did it. I was empowered and I was moving through my list of short term goals and nothing was stopping me. Now I’m in high school and my goals in life became more relative to where I wanted to be in the future. …show more content…
Currently, I am striving for straight A’s in my classes this year and next year to eventually get into honors classes which will boost up my GPA. Also, I am currently intensifying my training in field hockey and track which will likely get me a scholarship. Another one of my short term goals is to find employment so that I am able to earn and save money to put aside for some my long term goals. On a spiritual note, I would like to aim for a closer relationship with Christ, without him I would not be able to accomplish anything. Furthermore, I am currently partaking in a competition called Jabberwock which is a scholarship fundraiser hosted by New Jersey Garden City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Inc. In this competition I will be competing with seven other girls who are aiming for earning the most money through fundraisers. My goal is to be crowned Miss Jabberwock of 2018. Lastly, my goal is to get into the “Black Girls Lead”
I think that the most important aspect that Peters stresses is image building. My end state goal is to become a College Professor. So surrounding myself around like minded people as well as building a relationship with the heads of the department would aid in building a reputation that can be called upon come the time I can make the transition toward my end state goal. As we see in the news almost on a daily basis gossip in politics has profoundly negative effects. Any thing that could be construed in a negative manner will look poorly upon you. Best practice is to stick to the known facts and stay professional. Attitude is everything and maintaining a "cheerful disposition" works two fold as one setting yourself up to be more positive and
Fortunately for me my personal, professional, and education goals is one in the same. My goal is to one day preach and teach the word of God. I must first equip myself with the skills necessary to bring forth God’s word. I understand being able to be an effective communicator and a critical thinker are some skills that I will need in order to be successful in my ministry. Being a responsible leader is very important in today’s society. I want to not only a have church of my own, but go aside the four walls so I can be a global citizen with the gifts God has gave me spreading Christianity through the world.
Circling back to my original goals from action two my first goal is to lose twenty pounds by summer. To set a date for completion I will use the literal first day of summer which is June 20th. Now the next portions of DAPPS bring up achievable, currently I have already lost a total of six pounds and there are about 14 weeks until June 20th. If I am able to lose one pound a week I see no reason why this goal wouldn’t be achievable, as most people lose one to two ponds a week when dieting and exercising regularly which is general knowledge. The personal and positive aspects of this goal are fairly similar, I will exercise and I will eat right to achieve this goal. This will change my personal outlook on myself and give myself more confidence
Since early childhood, I have been focused on improving my life despite the many difficult physical challenges I have endured. Thus, my struggles and journey have become the story of my success, ultimately leading me to pursue as a leader through a health care profession. I was born and grew up in the small village of Alamata, Ethiopia. I lost the use of my legs when I was one-year-old. My aunt was climbing a tree with me on her back when I fell to the ground. My father was seriously ill at the time of my fall, so that his care became the family's medical priority. I got no medical care after my fall. The belief was that if I did not live, my father would be able to father another son when he got well. My father did regain his good health,
Throughout my entire eighth grade experience, I have completed much more writing than in any other school year I’ve attended. The many writing assignments I’ve been given has made writing and the language arts highly present in my mind, and I started to think more about my goals as a writer.
My first goal would be to maintain a 3.50 GPA or better. This goal can be achieved by studying a couple days before the exam instead of the night before, staying organized, and getting work done early. By studying for an exam a couple days early and not the night before I will be able to learn the material better instead of memorizing it, which will help me in the long run, especially for finals. To stay organized I will continue to use my color coordinated calendar in order to separate what I have to do for class and what I have to do for RA. This will also help me plan for when I have a lot going on. Lastly, by getting my work done early I will have less work when I am busy. This will make sure that my work is quality and not rushed. This
I’m sure I am the “ole guy” in the group at the age of 57 years old. I can hear what you are thinking, this guy is older than my parents. I first started college in 1977. It was fairly short lived and un-eventful, my priorities were not in place and as a result I dropped out. Contrary to what you have just read, I have always been a positive, goal oriented person, college just wasn’t that goal at the time.
I feel that there in not only one thing that inspires me to be the best. Their is many thing that i just see, people I'm around and hear that makes be try to be my best. The people that always wants me to do my best is my family which is very helpful; for example, my brother is a very big help whenever i need it. I feel that everyone that is my friend is pushing me to be my best. When i play soccer my team pushes you always to be the best on and off the field because you need that your not going to learn anything if someone tells to you suck every day. Also i look up to people that are not sedentary and always like to go do have fun and do stuff other people wouldn't. But if i had to pick a hero that i would like to be like is my uncle because
As a sophomore at Valencia College I was part of the start of the school’s first S.T.E.M. Club. We were established to inspire, motivate, and educate the students completing STEM majors. I decided I wanted to take on an officer position and was elected as the clubs president. One of our first goals was to reach out to the community and begin volunteering for things we cared about. It was tough to find something since we were a new club and did not have any community connections at the time. We had to also gather a car pool and make sure we included as many members in the process. It was important for us as a club to make sure we focused on the community and volunteer since maintaining community relations and giving our time shows that we care.
After our visit to the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign, we will cross over the street on the opposite side we arrived, and catch the bus back to Mandalay Bay. Use the crosswalk, but please be patient. The cars can move fast. Many of these cars are people arriving in Las Vegas just itching to make their first bet. Although it is only a short distance to cross the street (two lanes), wait for the green light.
My 3 Goals i want to achieve: My first goal would be to improve on my overall maturity. My lack of maturity has let me down multiple times in the past, however, I do believe that I am on top of this issue. It will still be good to improve it. My second goal would be to work on player relations. To elaborate, I am well aware that not all players like me. That's fine, I won't at all let this get in my way of applying, but I would love to resolve a few issues with players. My third and final goal would be to help HcZone expand and reach its full potential! I don't believe that I need to elaborate on this as it's fairly self-explanatory. On another note, I would also like to stay clear of drama. Not starting drama comes under this additional goal.
my professional goal is to continue receiving training in the technology industry to ensure I stay relevant with my companies goals and direction. My personal goal is to get better everyday and to get my college degree. My motivation to pursue attaining my college degree is that I believe I have found an industry that peaks my interest, Data analytics. This degree will contribute to my long term professional goals by giving me the training and skills to grow in this field. I’m attempting to re-enroll at CSU and my first attempt was not successful. Looking back on it, I can see several reasons I failed. First, I didn’t dedicate the time that is needed to reading every day. Another reason would be I didn’t not take part in any of the message board assignments.
My major personal, professional, and educational challenge is English as a second language. I believe that this is my major constraint preventing me from speaking up, having difficulty to find appropriate words to express some ideas quick enough, and affects my writings. With having this limitation, takes me long time to complete my assignments compared with other students. However, at work I have learned to communicate very well with others with topics related to my career. Unfortunately, when there is the need to talk about different topics I have very limited vocabulary. With this limitation, the only way to come around is to continue working very hard in improving my writing, learning new vocabulary each day in school with all the assigned
In my life path, my family, friends, and interests create an unending circle, much like a charm bracelet. My family creates the clasp that serves as a strong foundation, and holds my life together. My friends serve as the chain that connects me to my interests and hobbies. My hobbies and interests make me unique, just like a charm bracelet. Without the clasp, chain, or charms, my life bracelet would be
The grey fog comes in, there is mist in the air, the cold wind increases my alertness and the uneasiness of everyone causes silence for a brief moment until the high pitched blow of a whistle starts it all. This sounds like a setting for a suspenseful corny movie but, really it’s just a typical game day here at San Francisco State University.
