Blood everywhere, I stared at a body unconscious waiting for a response but hearing nothing but silence. It was just like any other normal day at the beach. I was 12 trying to keep my family smiling by doing dumb things to make them laugh. We would go down to the beach every summer at Outer Banks located in North Carolina. Watching someone almost die shocked me and changed me into the person I am today. We were heading our way towards Outer Banks, North Carolina. We were dodging in and out of traffic throwing goldfish at our family members behind us. We drove for 8 hours to stay at a pretty cool motel with a pool so we could spend more time at the beach. As we arrived to the motel we were all slumped from the ride and started to unload everything. As everyone started to slowly settle in there rooms I would laugh at the amount of people that woke up from the long car ride and fall right back to sleep. I was one of the last to wake up from our naps holding my family up from taking pictures on the beach. My family and I finally make it down to the …show more content…
One of my family members friends came down named Logyn who got the idea to swing off a ledge over a set of stairs to the bottom. I slowly watched Logyn swing and land directly on top of puddle hidden by the dim hallway where he then smacked his head on the brick stairs. I ran down the stairs to find him unconscious, panicking leaving me with nothing to do but to run ahead to his friends and get help. We came back to Logyn to find him dazed, sitting on the stairs with gushing blood running down his head and body just going everywhere. A guy comes out of the apartment throughout the hallway where Logyn cracked his head. The man gave Logyn some medicine to reduce the pain till he got to the hospital. We help him walk back to the place stumblying throughout the parking lot so he could gather his stuff. After taking forever to gather his stuff we finally head to the hospital to receive 7
During the summer of 2012, I was going on vacation to Clearwater, Florida, where we would hang out at the beach; go on mini trips during the main trip, while staying at the Magnuson Hotel for a week.
When i went Destin, Florida. I went to Florida this summer after school was out . We went with my sisters best friend, and my best friend’s family. We drove from Arkansas all the way to Destin, Florida. The day we got there we went straight to the beach! It was the first time I had ever seen the ocean! The following day we decided to go down to the smoothie shack and get a smoothie then swim in the pool. The grown ups went to the beach while we were at the pool.
Another great memory I had was when I went to Myrtle Beach with my mom, grandma, and older brother Vincent. We stayed in a horrible motel it stunk, had bugs, and a small shower but we made the best of it. One day while we was there we were walking on the pier and this disabled man in a wheelchair was fishing and caught a baby shark and he stopped me to show me what he had caught, and he asked me if I did not mind would I throw the shark back in the water and i looked at him like he was crazy and he told me it was okay to pick it the shark up as long and I did not touch near his mouth, so I go
A moment of contentment is more than pretty scenery, it’s a moment in time where I let go of my thoughts. When I am truly content my eyes close. I see nothing, I hear nothing, and I feel nothing. I am just existent. My serene moment came last summer while vacationing at the beach.
A vacation that i took with my family and friends. We took a vacation to Panama City Beach, FL and that was my first time going to a beach swimming in the ocean but when got there and we ate and cross the road and there was a big pizza delivery truck. We when into the hotel and unload everything we had and we was staying on floor 18 so i was kinda scared of heights. The view from the 18 floor was amazing and the water and i seen some stingrays along the sandy beach and i was scared to swim in the ocean now but i did. When all of us ate lunch i went to the first floor and out the back door and straight into the sand but it was hot so i ran into the cool cold sea water. My cousin and me, we tried swim pretty far out but we was getting so tired of the waves pussing us back and back so we let the water take us back to shore and while we going back i stuck my head under water and i seen a little fish and i tried to grab it but the water was pushing me.
Two years ago, my family did not know what to do on vacation at Key West, so my dad started looking for activities. We've already done all the main activities, like walking down Duval Street. While looking, my dad found snorkeling, and the whole family liked the idea. The next day we rode on a boat with two instructors/guides and their pet cat. We started out to the reef where our snorkeling session would occur. We put on our wetsuits and our snorkel masks, and when we jumped in the ocean, the water felt awfully cold even with our swimsuits on. We then had to swim to the reef because the boat could not come too close to it. When we finally arrived at the reef, I became a bit nervous due to the closeness of the reef to my body (about 2 feet
The waves were immense, so we were all told not to go too far out. As my family started to get out of the water, after swimming for awhile. I decided to stay in the water and swim for a little bit longer. I was swimming more remote out to the deep sea. Suddenly I felt my foot start to sink underneath something grainy and soggy. Struggling to pull my foot back my other foot started to go under. I was panicked now, not know what was happening was the most appalling part the whole time. I finally figured out what was happening, I was sinking in some deep sand. As I was yelling for help frantically, I suddenly realized no one could hear me, I was on my own. I pulled and pulled until I felt my foot be released from the sand. I swam as fast as I could, when I finally got back to the shore, I looked at my family and said let's go back
So it was a regular day at Myrtle beach everyone was having fun right? Yeah except for me!!!! So I was minding my own business floating on my boogie board until all of sudden I look back laughing and stop as soon as I realize that I’m seeing a bunch of ant people! I said “ my God that’s the shore!!!!” *GULP* I start shouting help but that was just in my mind!!!!! I soon realized I was frozen with fear!!!! “Help!” I whispered “please help me!!!!” Moments later my mom sees someone rushing into the water. She jumps up to her feet and searches as if she had lost her money. And what she saw made her heart stop!!!!! She sees me ¼ of a mile out to sea. So she panics, and runs towards the water, she runs out
When I was twelve years old, I turned on the television to see sea turtles stuck in sludge, mountains of dead fish lining the coastlines, and seagulls' wings stained with black grease. All news stations covered the BP explosion and informed the viewers of the oil that leaked into the Gulf of Mexico. I remember feeling panicked, wondering to myself how I could help make a difference. That is when I ran across the description of an environmental engineer. I knew that was the career path for me because it would make my dream of restoring the ecosystem a
About four years ago, on a sunny March day, my family and I started our journey from Daytona beach, Florida to Port Canaveral, Florida. Although it was only about a two to three hour drive, it felt like days of driving. I did everything to make the time fly by faster. For example, when I got tired, I would go to sleep. When I’d wake up thinking it had been two hours, really it had only been ten minutes. One more time, I asked how much longer until we arrived.
It was a sunny day on June 10, 2001, Amelia and her family were at Myrtle Beach. You could smell the salt and feel the sand between your toes when you walked on the beach you could also see the wonderful sights of the marvelous beach. The Mom loved that she was blonde because she didn’t like her head feeling warm. “I love the beach!” Amelia shouted. With her long brown hair waving in the wind complementing her hazelnut eyes.
Ways of knowing; the pentacle is the diagram and shape that I take and wear, it representation to me is, the top point is a spirit, the two sides are fire and air and the bottom is water and earth they represent freedom Mother Earth and a harmony. When I excess knowledge through either sounds, language shapes or print when is images of faraway times the sounds of the voices the printing of the letters the shapes of the bodies and then landscape
For my Junior Year of highschool, I had the opportunity to take an independent research class. Those type of courses aren't available at my school but I had a teacher named Mr.Kelleher (whom I admire and look up too ) advocate for me and by the time 2nd semester rolled around, we had all technical work figured out and the research was able to begin. I did all the research and writing on my own, and Mr.Kelleher’s job was to just grade it in the end, My question was, ‘Does the United States Fit the Definition of a Plutocracy ?’, the short answer was yes, although I now know the U.S fits in more with corporatocracy than a plutocracy. The hardest part of writing the paper was definitely trying to not get lost in the rabbit hole of new information
Trying to find memories is like looking for treasure. You look at the surface and see something mediocre, but you dig deep and find something cool, pretty, and meaningful. It took a while to think of a fond memory, but once I thought of some, it was hard to choose a favorite. Growing up I have had many great experiences in the form of vacations. Between going to Disney World, owning a vacation home, hanging out with my grandparents in Arizona, traveling to Canada and more. They all make amazing memories that I will forever cherish. The vacation spot we go to the most, though, is Wisconsin Dells. A few times I have been allowed to invite friends to come with. When I am allowed to bring friends, it is always a ginormous amount of fun. We goof off in the hotel room, play in the arcades, and swim in the water parks.
My mom, dad, brother, and I were all putting sunscreen on, head to toe like we showered in it while we were waiting for the cab to pick us up to go pick up the ATV's. Once the cab got to the hotel, we all had to stuff ourselves and our belongings in it because it was one of those mini cars that only had room for three people, but we were four people not including the driver. At the ATV Rental place, we got sized for helmets and the ATV. My brother and I were not old enough to drive the ATV so my brother and my father went together while my mother and I went together. Before you know it, we were out and about zooming through the streets of Aruba to get the California Lighthouse which
