The day I came to ASU When I first came to Arizona on 1/1 which is same as the start of 2015 I realized that this place is gonna be extremely hot in summer. well I prefer hot weather rather than cold weather. But I couldn't believe that the weather here in winter has almost same temperature in late summer in South Korea. I stayed in a hotel for 3 days to prepare and I had to stay another hotel for 1 week. Because the fire alarm detector in my dormitory was broken.so nobody couldn't stay there at that time. First time before my American English culture program start I went to Sedona and had fun and look around this campus. The first thing I was surprised was the streets are very clean and there are a few buildings which have 2nd floor …show more content…
The first thing was that my English speaking was not enough to have a fluent conversation with American friends in my dormitory.so I an still in a progress to master English and the thing is that my roommate was Chinese so It wasn't helpful to learn from him but its okay we became good friends eventually. the second thing was that I was like a baby here. for example, I didn't know about the traffic law here.So I didn't know that it's mandatory that I had to turn my low beam on at the evening.so there was a moment that police pulled over my car and asked me to show my drivers license. And the last thing was that I didn't have a car for first 2 months. I don't really need vehicle in my hometown because my city public transportation is really convenient to use it and there is a lot so we can go everywhere no matter where is it. But here we definitely need it to go anywhere. So I had to get a lisecense here because of insurance issue. The last moment that it was hard to take it was I am still in minor age here.In Korea 18 is the standard between adult or under age. But here we have to reach 21 in a way to purchase alchoal or get in the club. Now I almost got used to live here. But still I sometimes miss my hometown and my family. But the only reason that I can suppress those moments is that I chose this way and I am responsible with my
My trip to the Grand Canyon was the best experience I ever had so far in my life. My grandparents from Korea came along with us. Even though I saw them last year it was still an enjoyable moment that I had. Grand Canyon is located in Arizona so what our family did was fly to Las Vegas early in the morning and arrive in Nevada around 9 o’clock am. Driving to Grand Canyon was also five hours with heavy traffic. Driving and stopping every hour was hard to do but at the end it was all worth it. It was good that I had couple electronic devices and my family to keep me in company.
When people would talk about deja vu all i could say was lies. I didn't really think that was true and it was something that couldn't happen. Until it actually happened and i was in total shock. When i used to hear people talk about all I could say that was crazy that it was just your mind. I could exactly remember everything that has happened and until now i am in total shock about it.
During summer break in august I went there with my grandma.some people might get a plane vasue the trip is so long but for us we drove down.It took us 3 to 4 days to finally get to where we needed to be going. It takes along time to get there only cause from driving so long you will need to rest so we went to a hotel every night and then we got something to eat for breakfast and dinner.
My family and I went to Colorado Spring for christmas break. We packed up all of our stuff then we put it all in the car. When we got done putting all of our stuff in the car we left we got on the highway. As soon as we got on the highway I took a nap. I woke up when we were in Colorado we were almost there. I was talking to my parents until we stop to get gas. I sat in the car until my dad got done filling the car up. We drove for a little bit and we were in Colorado Springs. We drove to my Aunt's house when we got there I took my stuff in the room I stay in. My cousin came from downstairs and said “Hi ” then he went back downstairs. My aunt put on a movie to all watch together. My grandma was cooking something for all of to eat when the movies was over I went to the kitchen to eat. I went to the kitchen table to talk to my dad. When my dad got done eating We heard a knock on the door we answered it and it was on of my uncles and aunts then my cousins walked in.
I am nineteen years old female in my sophomore year at an out-of-state college. When I left home I finally came to terms with my sexuality and came out as gay. In Flagstaff away from home I could do what I wanted in a mostly non-judgemental space. I could grow out my body hair and not wear makeup, buy men's clothes and feel happy with my community. But I couldn't deal with the lack of validation from my family or the stress of realizing I has been neglected as a kid and sexually abused in a relationship for two years from 16-18. My father doesn't understand that he is the source of my anxiety and every time I think about calling him my world caves in. He just wants to talk to me but I can't handle it because he always brings up school, which
What makes California a special state? When someone says California, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? California has many people from a wide variety of ethic, racial, religious backgrounds, and I am one of people who live in California. My journey to California began when I was seventeen. Back to my life in Turkey, when I graduated from high school, the only thing I wanted to do is to learn English. Thus, I decided to leave Turkey for a different way of life, and I came to California, because I thought California was the best state in order to live my life and achieve my goal. It is known as a sunshine state. However, “the reality is that the sun does not always shine, and when it does, it is often blocked by smog”. Why I felt
When I was in fifth grade I started to play basketball, and I loved it. At that time basketball was the first sport I ever played in, and now that is my most favorite sport ever. I also play lacrosse and soccer. In the summer I like to sometimes do water activities at my cabin and lounge in the sun on the lake, on a paddle board, at the end of the dock, or on the pontoon or speed boat with a friend. My first ever vacation was to Arizona when I was in seventh grade. Me and my family hiked the grand canyon, went to Scottsdale, and did other things that I don’t remember. But that was during valentine's weekend and during basketball season so we bought a basketball and at night I would practice while my aunt and uncle were in the hot tub with my
I have been on many trips with my family and friends. My grandma and grandpa dave (mema and pepa) have taken me to Texas and Branson, Missouri where I got to do a lot of fun things. In Texas i got to go to Seaworld and in Branson i got to go to shows and museums. My parents have taken me to Texas, Branson, and Las Vegas. In Texas we have some family so we would go visit them and in Branson we would go ride go carts (even though I don't like them) and go to silver dollar city. In Las Vegas we went to an aquarium and a huge candy shop and also got to go see a really amazing show with crazy effects and tricks. I have been on two sort of big school trips. One was to Dallas, Texas and the other to Anaheim, California. In Dallas we went for one of
I’m from Tucson, Arizona; I’ve lived here my whole life. I travel to California every other year due to having family there. I have two young siblings, one is named Cole, he is one-year-old and the other is Koen, a 5-year-old. I dislike getting called on to speak in front of the class I get anxiety and feel like throwing up… My mom is a fourth grade teacher, I live with her, her boyfriend, who is a sheriff, and my two brothers. For hobbies, I listen to music, do puzzles, read, eat, play with my dogs and draw. As a student, my weaknesses are; test anxiety, time-restrictions, I procrastinate and I get distracted easily. However, last year a 504-plan was installed, so that’s taken care of. I’m inspired by Malala Yousafzai to continue school and
Two years ago I went to summer camp with my boy scout troop 1517 to Camp Alexander , in Colorado Springs,Colorado . I was able to go to the high adventure camp which included backpacking in the Colorado mountains for six days and then hike to the top of pikes peak. I didn’t realize that the air is thinner up in the mountains and I haven't gone on a hike in a while so everyday I was tired and worn out.
Dalton and I were planning our fall break. We decided that we wanted to go somewhere fun for vacation. We talked to our families and we all went to Las Vegas. I’ve been there before with my brother and we were in a weightlifting competition. This time it was just for fun.
A journey is traveling from one place to another. For example i can take a journey to Arizona, then California, and so on. It would be fun to go on a journey with friends. A hero is usually someone who is admired for his or hers courageousness. Also for doing something outstanding, for example saving an old lady from a fire. I think heros can be categorized in different ways. For me heros have to be kind, noble, admiring, handsome, and of course have the ability to do good. Heros don't necessarily have to save someone or something, they can save themselves or something.
It has been a long time since I have seen my family. I am kind of missing them alot. I left 30 days ago on June 5, 1849.I came all the way from New York ,and it is very tiring to get to California I am not even half of the way there . I came on a wagon. It is still a long way to go, but i hope that it will be worth it .
I can’t believe that it is finally July 27, 2018! My mom and I are going to Las Vegas to see the Backstreet Boys in concert. My mom and I can’t wait to get to the Airport. It would be our first time going to Las Vegas. Our plane was to leave from Gerald R. Ford International Airport at 9:00 AM.
How is the weather there? I'm sure it must be cooler than here. This year seems to be extra hot. Maybe it's because we missed all of June, last year. This year, we're going to miss most of September.
