Several years ago, I went to Pensacola State College, and attempted to register for the Medical Information Coder Biller class, but was unsuccessful. The reason being, I could not provide the college with the proper identification they requested. I am a U.S. citizen born and raised, and I could not understand the process at the time. It took me a while to get my voter’s registration updated, and I did not have a driver’s license. This setback would prevent me from registering for any classes at the college.
We all know that colleges are different. At the same time, we don’t think about how they are similar. The Georgia Institute of Technology is a very suitable college to me. Even though the University of Georgia is just as competitive, Georgia Tech. is still my choice.
Growing up in a small town in the corner of Northwest Georgia taught me many things. It taught me a distinctive vocabulary showcasing words such as “cattywampus” and phrases like “well butter my butt and call me a biscuit.” I also learned the importance of manors and of course, the

As most journeys begin, it all started with the arrival to Vincennes University. The morning was sadly not bright and sunny, but rather bitter and stormy. It was definitely not one that aroused happy thoughts when it comes to traveling, but still Ben Davis University scholars boarded the charter buses. Patience was a virtue in which we all lacked. We all arrived by 10:45 on June 10th, but still only began moving around 11. We groggily moved towards the buses, dragging around our luggage that would somehow enable us to live and survive during our 1 week stay.
While attending Kennesaw State University, I was able to participate in the new program that allows for student teachers to spend an entire school year in one classroom. I spent my year long student teaching experience in a kindergarten classroom within the Cobb County District. This experience allowed for me to see all the aspects of being a kindergarten teacher, from working collaboratively with the grade level teachers, participating in creating activities for students with EIP's, attending 504 meetings, parent-teacher conferences, professional development meetings, after school activities, and so much more. Throughout my time spent at KSU, I was able to spend time with a variety of grade levels at multiple schools, therefore, I have gained

My first week as a freshman at Georgia Southern was something new. For the first time I walked everywhere I went. My legs are completely dead! The heat is crazy down here and is just draining all my energy. Not to mention on my first day of classes I misread my schedule thinking I didn’t have a class until three when it was at two o’clock. Other than that, my week has been really good. I met some new friends, all of my professors are great and, I know my way around the campus so when fall comes I won’t be lost. My goal for this summer is to try to get all A’s so when fall comes around I won’t destroy my grade point average when I have to take four more classes than I am taking now.
Four of my relatives have graduated from Georgia Tech, so I have been raised with an unwavering pride for the school, and if I were to attend, I would be the first female in my family to do so. Everyone has their own story of why they feel they are deserving of being admitted to the nursing program. Whether it was so they could make their parents proud or due to a family history, every person has their own personal reasoning for wanting to be accepted. So what is my story? I could tell you that I am a current sophomore at Georgia Southern University with a 3.98 GPA who is currently involved in The 100 Collegiate Women of America and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. These things however do not set me apart from other applicants, but there are two things that do: my life experiences and my motivation. My life experiences are not as extravagant as going on a jungle safari or studying abroad in another country, but these experiences significantly changed my life and helped me chose a career in the nursing profession. One of my proudest achievements and best experiences of my life was the day I received my 100 hour pin from DeKalb Medical Hospital. I had been volunteering at DeKalb Medical for the last two years and it was truly one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It all started at the end of my eleventh grade year when my healthcare teacher had sent me an email telling me of this wonderful volunteer opportunity. Interested I quickly filled out the application and mailed it off as soon as possible. Then one day I received an email saying that I had made it through the first round and I was on to the next round which was the interview process. All dressed up in
