Week One
Commencing my first week, at the Fremantle Language Development Centre. I was rather nervous and somewhat anxious.
Little did I know I had two of the most amazing and experienced mentors who were going to assist and guide me throughout the five weeks of my work placement.
I was very lucky to be able to collaborate with Mrs. L (Teacher) and Mrs. V (Education Assistant), both instantly reassured me that everything was going to be fine, if I ever had any doubts or questions to just ask. I instantly felt welcomed, calm and collected.
The First few days of placement mostly consisted of introducing myself, observing the classroom structure, behavior management and getting to know students individually. Meeting the students was so much fun, the only

L and Mrs. V have given me throughout the week.
Throughout the week one I continually reminded myself why I was doing my placement and Certificate 4 in Education Support. Remembering to do things and complete set tasks genuinely to the best of my ability with care and warmth. Week Two
Commencing week two of my work placement I felt a lot calmer and surer of what I was doing and myself. This week I had a better understanding as to what I had to do in a classroom as an Education Assistant.
At the Freemantle Language Development Centre, I began to understand and get to know each student individually getting to know which student need more support within the classroom environment. I remembered each Childs’ name and was able to communicate better with each student.
Mrs. L and Mrs. V were once again phenomenal with their mentoring continually reflecting and teaching me how to work in the classroom environment. Both praised me appropriately and gave me constructive criticism when required. Mrs. L also made me aware of a personal strength that I myself was not aware of having great behavior management
I have thoroughly enjoyed my first placement and feel as though I have learnt a great deal in just 8 weeks. I am happy with the feedback I have received, it corresponds to my own self-reflection and I believe it will help me develop and improve many of my skills.
Week 4: What an amazing week I have had. My children are on holiday, we have had a lot fun activities to do as a family. Holidays are the only times I get to spend with my children as I work from Monday to Friday. I have also taken some time off work, hence I am not as stressed as I am most of the times. However I tend to manage my stress well by practising. I really appreciate your feedback and the guidance given during this course work.
This week was not too bad in regards to any of the work I actually needed to do. There are definitely some concepts that I think I need to improve my understanding but I think that I did take away what was available from the texts we were provided.
Experience: The first day is bound to be nerve wrecking, but I dealt with my nerves effortlessly and quickly. Even though the tasks I did were simple, I had fun filling out the papers and doing my job. Every now and then, one needs to step out of their comfort zone and do things other than routine tasks (work and homework), it is imperative to get fresh air.
Week two of field observation at Crestone Charter School. My Second week of field observations was really fun and interactive. I had the opportunity to work with several students from the k-1 class with special needs. We traveled to several reading stations and did a read along with the fourth and fifth-grade students. At arrival, I met with the main Para, Ammie Morphet and was informed that Lexi whom is one of the charter schools highest priority/needs students was the student I would be working with. Lexi usually has a personal in class Para that works with her throughout the day, but she was out sick. Since I know Lexi and have personal experience working with her we came to the conclusion that it would be best if I assisted with Lexis daily routine and any other classroom needs. This allowed Mrs. Morphet to attend to the other students she had previously scheduled for us to meet with.
The first week, of my second year, being an assistant counselor at Camp Shalom was one of the most enlightening weeks of my life. The Camp Shalom
I felt comfortable with my observations this week. I didn’t feel out of place or uncomfortable this week. I was nervous to go to a counseling session and transport
This week I learned it is difficult to get someone to trust you. I had to evaluate my roles and ambitions to be a mentor. I learned to not be so judge mental to comments. I learned to accept different interests and incorporate in my routines. I learned to adjust my attitude and change how I interact in small group. It’s a challenge speaking to adults all the time. But when children are involved, I have to learn to bring it down a bit to understand what they are trying to convey me to understand about their feelings, social interactions, and
When my fellow English 0900 students introduced themselves on the first day I was extremely
based around the first day of school, the first impression, and the first minutes of the classroom.
As I walked into the classroom for my first day of observations, I was greeted
The aquatic rescue part of the training was held the week of my spring break. I was excited about the training session because I was finally going to meet some of the people that would work with me and get to see what the job was like. The day before the session a meeting was held for all the people who had been accepted. Here I
Going into my first day of student teaching at Carl Renton Jr. High in New Boston was nerve wrecking. I’ll be completely honest that I was scared and had trouble sleeping the night before. I wasn’t sure what to expect of the students or staff. I had a hard time finding a placement and this was a last minute placement right before Christmas break. I had only met the teacher Mrs. Potts one time and didn’t really know her either. I am also in a general education classroom, and a lot of my pre student teaching experiences and what I feel most comfortable in is in special education settings with special education students.
The next morning, I get up and prepare myself for my first class. Surprisingly, it went pretty good. Although I assumed that there were some things in which I needed to work on, in general, I used to think that I did a good job.
Today was the first day of internship. I attended a new hire training secession about 8 hours and heard about the history of Novogradac & Company LLP, met the partners of the firm, completed all new hire paperwork and turned in to HR. In addition, I learned about ProSystem Engagement which company has been using for audit and tax preparation software. At the end of the day, all intern received a tour of office and met their own team members.
