This I Believe
Getting chased by goats was a fun experience. I believe that being cautious and careful is incredibly important, and to not take warnings lightly. I believe this because being cautious could save your life and a life of another person. Also, taking warnings lightly could seriously mess things up for people and cause mild to serious injury. This event happened in San Rafael, Jalisco, Mexico a couple of summers ago. My mom had just us not to go out and play with the animals, I was maybe ten or eleven and wanted to go over to the goats to see and pet them. My younger brother, Demian, and my two cousins were also there, and they too wanted to pet the goats. The goats were in a rodeo-like arena, so we could walk on top of the walls and get to a red platform overlooking the place. Us seven through eleven year olds jumped off the platform and ran over to the goats on the end of the other side. When we were maybe ten feet from the goats, they looked up and saw us, and they began to chase us.

My cousin, Avylis, reached the top of the red platform as I reached about halfway to the platform, and I also had just passed my cousin, Adrian. It was super exciting and enjoyable, but terrifying at the same time. It was hot outside so I was already sweating and the being chased by goats didn’t make it better. As I Grabbed the latter to go up, my brother reached the top, but my cousin was still maybe thirty feet away. Nevertheless, he made it and we went inside and told our parents of the adventure we had just had. My mom was kind of angry because she told us not to what we had just done and that we should more
Responsibility isn’t for everyone, and it definitely isn't for the lazy. I started the summer of 2016 out by catching at the Calf Scramble in Houston and have only grown to love my heifer. Calf Scramble has not only brought me closer to the animal, but to my family too.
Have you ever been to a trampoline jump park?Well I have and I will tell you how it all started when they took down a Halloween store to put up the new Sky Zone that is right beside Home Depot and when it was open I asked my mom if me and my sister Giselle can go to Sky Zone but my mom said “no you can’t go to Sky Zone but you and Giselle can go next week because it is Sunday to day’’ so me and my sister what and what tell next Saturday. When it was Saturday me and my sister Giselle we're happy to go to the new Sky Zone and that Saturday morning me my mom and my sister woke up and me and my mom cook breakfast whale Giselle was on her phone talking to her friend about going to the new Sky Zone but meanwhile me and my mom was finished with the
One summer day in July , Me and my friend Carol went to an amusement park called Cedar Point . Cedar Point is located in Sandusky , Ohio and two and a half hours away . My mom and me wanted to go on a ride called the Maverick . The Maverick is Cedar Point’s steepest roller coaster and its speed is 70 miles per hour . The Maverick also has a 95 degree drop ! Then we went in line and waited for about an hour and a half . It was about eleven o'clock when we got close to the front of the line . When we finally got to the roller coaster I regretted going on because it was very dark and I couldn't see where the drop was and I don’t like steep roller coasters . Because of that me and Carol where panicking the whole way up . As soon as we got to the
It was 4:30 p.m. at the carnival. My little brother Rudy went on this ride called space Shot. Where this ride goes up strolling and goes down fast, like a meteorite falling from the sky. Rudy begged me to come to the space shot ride, but I didn't want to, because I'm scared of heights. I tried to keep him away from the ride.
We were waiting in line, I was so scared. Dad said, “Go on the ride it will be fun.” Finally it was our turn when we got on the ride we started going up.¨Are you ready?¨”Dad said. I was not feeling great about doing this. When we hit the top we went straight down everyone was screaming. I was so scared but relieved I did it. The rest of the ride
The road is so flat and straight; you can see them coming from a mile away. Six runners flow in arrowhead formation around the Canadian city of Saskatoon. The early November air is still and dry, the sky overcast, and the temperature hovers a bit above freezing, just as predicted.
The jump spot was a gap in the bridge that was marked by bright neon pink and white spray paint. I saw multiple names written in black sharpie in the white painted area of the jump spot. I felt a great relief to see my older sister's name written there because I knew that if she didn't break every bone in her body and die, I wouldn't either. I enjoyed the slight moment of relief, but all of the anxiety came rushing back in when I saw a line begin to form. I knew that there was no more procrastinating, because I was now in the line to jump. I was so terrified, I recall my eyes tearing up at one point. I genuinely did not want to jump, but I knew if I did not jump off the bridge I would look like a “sissy.” Slightly ashamed of myself for giving into peer pressure, I patiently yet extremely anxiously waited for my turn to jump. I watched my friends jump with complete and utter ease. They acted like it was a simple leap from a diving board. I discreetly watched as person after person took the leap. I was watching to see if there was any technique for jumping, or if it was just a thoughtless action. The line was dissipating and I did not know if I would be able to pull myself together to jump. Worried about the embarrassment to follow if I did not jump, I just prayed that everything would be okay. I was next to jump and I had come to the realization that I was not getting out of it. I
On the second day we went hiking up mountains, through narrow caves, and under waterfalls. My dad usually goes ahead of us while my mom, brother and I are stepping back and taking pictures of everything around us. We walked along the path for about 20-30 more minutes when I saw a narrow path climbing at about 50 degrees uphill. We eventually got to the top where it was a complete drop off on one side, nothing but cars and rocks. I shouted, “Mom, you know I have an EXTREME fear of heights!”
The conference meet was upon us. I was as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. The tension between the runners soared as we lined up at the starting line. I took a few deep breaths, anticipating the gun. I had a nerve racking deep inside. Bang! The gun went off and I took off stumbling over people, shoving, fighting for space. I was breathing hard already, pushing up the first hill. There was a straight away after the hill. I was afraid to get passed, so I kept my pace with the first pack. Michael, who had tripped over the back of my shoe before the first hill, had caught back up. As the first mile came around, I heard determined coaches exclaiming our mile splits.
So I did it like 20 more times before finally resting up on the shore. As time passed by, it felt as if we spent the whole day swimming and jumping off a helicopter skydiving. Then the unexpected happen, my best friends Ivan and Nathan decided they wanted to get a go at the bridge. In my head, I knew this was not a good idea. The bridge was skyscraping, towering, mighty, I can’t even think of words to describe it. It was unmatchable and yet they want to jump off it. I tried to convince them not to, worrying that something might go wrong if they did. Quite frankly they didn’t care what I had to say and offered me to jump with them. I was already on the bridge with them and they were on the outside of the rails ready to jump. While all my friends are behind me they wanted to see all three of us jump at the same time. I was scared shitless. But being me I caved in and vaulted right over the rail and stood next to 2 of my best friends as we were about to jump a bridge. I’ve never been more scared in my life, looking down at my feet it looked like the people below me were ants. We stood there for a good 5 minutes contemplating on whether we should jump or not. The longer we sat there the worst it became, we were all trembling with fear. Both Ivan and Nathan had fear in their eyes like I’ve never seen before. I bet they were just as scared as I was. The sun was gleaming at all 3 of us as we stood there in shock and awe. But we had to man up and jump, so we did exactly that. The water was fragile, universe-blue-colour, making it appear like nature’s amphitheatre. At that very moment all 3 of us jumped, the air felt ice cold, it felt as if everything was statue still, like time froze on us. It was peaceful and comfortable, I have never experienced such a unique feeling. As we came racing down we smacked the water and plunged right for the surface gasping for air. It was a feeling that you can’t shake
On our way up the mountain, we saw lots of Toucans and monkeys. It was a very bumpy ride. Sometimes the mountain got so steep that I thought we were going to fall backwards. Once we reached the top we got out. The workers helped us put on the harnesses. The woman who worked there jumped on the zip line and went down first so she could be the catcher at the bottom. None of us wanted to go, it looks way to scary. So my dad made Gage go first, he was assisted by another worker as he was too little to go alone. Once we all new that Gage made it safely we did rock paper scissors to see who went next. Ian went and then I went and then my dad went. There were 4 lines, at first we were only going 60 miles per hour, by the time we were on the last one we got up to speeds of 90 miles per hour, the length of the lines was 3 miles. The wind on my face and body actually hurt and it was hard to breath at
It was a warm day at Knott’s Berry Farm I was with my family and my brother wanted to go on almost every ride. We walked around for a bit and while we did my brother was just going on rides one after another after another. My mom didn’t want to go on any neither my dad and my sister was too small. This left us an option, either let my brother only go on rides around where we walked or have me go with him and have him ride every ride he can find while dragging me along. Now at this moment I was tired of walking around but I was too scared to go on any of the rides, so I didn’t know what to do. My dad told me that I had to choose if I was gonna be bold and go on a ride or know another chance missed. Curiosity got the best of me so I went on the next ride that my brother wanted to go on. Luckily for him it was Silver Bullet, unfortunately for me it was Silver Bullet. If you don’t know Silver Bullet is one of those rides were your feet are dangling while going pretty fast and going through loops. So as you can probably tell I was scared.
When we got there, I was extremely scared. My father had put one of his hands on the handlebars and the other underneath the seat. After a little while my father asked, “Are you ready?”
Why I say in disbelief. I finished my milk. It was August . I was only A ten year girl and willing to face my biggest fear. Honk! Honk! Come on lets hurry of We are going to be late yelled , my mom. I am rushing. I hopped into the red car. However, I maintained a little apprehensive of what was bound to happen . We are here! stated my dad. My sister Sarah started teasing me. Sarah has been never afraid of anything. It was a dark and foggy site. The objective sustains to reach the top of the tower. Additionally ,You can accomplish this don't be afraid yelled my family. I must climb the first section of the tower. I visualized I could not do it anymore. I felt my heart rapidly beating. I kept moving even though I felt frightened. I didn't plan
My Family and I were at home eating dinner. After dinner I told my mom that I had left something on top of the mountain, so she said “‘go up to get it Mary. But she didn’t want me to go alone so I went to go see if my friend was home but he wasn’t so I disobeyed my moms rules and went up by myself anyway. And it was starting to get dark so I had to get the base fast but I couldn’t find it. Now it was really dark and 2 hours had already passed and I couldn't my way off the mountain because it was so dark. And with my luck my phone died so I couldn’t call anyone for help, so I just started walking and walking after a little bit I realized I was getting nowhere so again I walked eventually I just fell and went to
