The first thing you felt was the softness of something beneath you, and the warmness of what you assumed was sunlight on your tan skin. Sitting up very slowly, you examined the space around you to find what was so soft below your outstretched legs. Golden flowers grew out of the cracked stone ground, shining a yellowish hue that seemed to make them even more beautiful than they already were. The sunlight that lit up part of the room you were currently residing in came from a distant hole in the rocky roof hanging high above you. Groggily, you stood up.
A giant navy blue blanket pulls over the sky with shimmering stars sew on as buttons. The boundless sky above held varying hues of vermilion rays striking through the soot covered cotton balls. The rays provided a weird warmth and reassurance that they would come back again. However, with much of the warmth and reassurance, tears ultimately still rolled down my face much like the rain droplets run down the glass panes. The swing moves back and forth to the pace of the tip of my feet, kicking off the bare black mat floor. With each additional creak of the moving swing, the accumulation of tears and snot intensified. A tingling sensation finds itself in my bright ruby nose from the jarring wind.

I am inquiring about any possible positions you may have available at Camp Red Frog in Chicago. I’ve routinely checked the job postings on the website for around a year, because I wanted to get a head start while I was still in college to see the requirements. Most job postings appeared to require multiple years of experience within the respective field. As a recent graduate from the University of Delaware this spring, I currently do not have the necessary years of experience. However, I am committed to this company for all it has given to me, and was curious if there were any other possible employment possibilities? I noticed on the webpage for job listings it mentions there are internships and temp positions offered as well. I am signed up for job alerts from Red Frog, but have not seen a listing for either of those opportunities. Is there a way I may apply for one of those positions, or are there any openings for fulltime work without the experience requirement? I am hoping to get my foot in the door, and hopefully begin working towards a career with Red Frog.
Henry had a lot of courage going into the first battle. He didn't truly know what war was like so that might be why he wasn't scared. The first battle was not very brutal and Henry stayed calm. His friends were calm as well and Henry didn't want to seem like a coward if he ran away. Henry got some respect for staying during the first battle. There was a different story however for the second battle.
Here in summit it's a peaceful town there is hardly any fight and next to no crime but the only distraction would be mr.dorset's son. that child of his is something else. His son likes to go by red chief oh can that boy stir up some trouble just last month he was using my cattle as target practice, red chief really does get on every folks bad side. but not here lately we haven't seen the little rascal there are rumors of him being held ransom i was just relishing my time of solitude i thought the kid would never be back here. but all that changed later last night when i was lying back in my on the porch I say around 10:00 or 11:00 pm i seen these three strange dark figures. two of them were tall but one short i didn't think much of it i was
While I was stacking cards I heard a bunch of people yelling “ he’s back, Red Chief is back!” The good and the bad things are 50/50, the good thing is that the parents of the spoiled trouble-making you call of a kid is reunited with him. The bad thing is that the people who dislike him the most has to deal with his nonsense again, I ignored the message and went back to stacking my poker cards, you know, mining my own business. The next day, while I was sleeping I heard a loud and annoying noise that woke me up, so I rolled out of my comfy bed and search for the noise. I kept listening and searching everywhere, and by the time I step foot into the kitchen, there was something missing from there, if I remember correctly, there was supposed
As I sit on my porch waiting for my cousin ( Mindy ) to arrive i sit and listen to the birds and watched the sunset. Not to long after i hear her char coal gray car pull up in my driveway as she gets out of her car she is wearing a pink and black hat with her sunglasses and a shirt with a name of a college ( Boise State University Of Idaho ) on it, and just a simple pair of jeans. As I look at her shirt while she is getting out of her car I assume that is the college she went to. I asked her “ hey is that the college you went to “ as she looks down at her shirt she said “ Yes it is Boise State University Of Idaho “ as you can kinda tell she likes to talk she is not a shy person. As she comes up my stairs to sit with me on my porch, I start
Diamonds were fluorescent against the black firmament of the sky but the brightest star was nowhere to be seen. Gone were the canines that were polished by escaping beams of laughter, the ruby stain that trickled up her cheeks, the aura of comfort and vulnerability, and in it’s place stands naīve oblivion. Empty laughter and empty feelings and empty people.
On land, pillars of granite rose up angelically into the ether. The once grey sky was slowly being permeated with an onyx decor. Though we had started our journey with blue skies, it was becoming increasingly sincere that we would conclude it in storm.
It was a warm Summer night in July, when i finally laid my head on my pillow after a relaxing day. I had began to get used to my days being this peaceful. Usually i would be all wound up, worrying about the damage my next door neighbors son is causing. The little boy’s name is Red Chief, or should i say little monster because that’s what he acts like. As i laid in bed i thought that maybe i should mow my grass in the morning. I had just bought a new riding lawn mower, and i wanted to test it out. I would be able to do that now without Red Chief being in my way. So the next morning, i got up just as the sun rose to start my day. I continued my way to my garage where my new mower was so that i could mow the grass. As i approached the doors i
Over the town of Ledwin, in the middle of a particularly hot July, the sky flickered while the waning moon hung in its tent. It was not the stars that shined deep across the cosmos, or the flames of a meteorite breaking through Earth's attenuated barrier. No, the very sky itself became bright, shining as if the sun was antagonized into a fearsome rage, then dark, as if it were subdued by a much more terrifying presence. It was like some sort of anomalous, uncanny light switch was being pushed, flipping the sun on, then off. On, then off. Alternating between levels of such extremity that it was a miracle the air itself didn’t catch fire and then freeze over, for it was not temperature that changed, only
I grew up in California where both of my parents were involved with gangs and drugs by the time they were in middle school. They grew up like this, getting involved with the wrong people, getting into fights for dumb reasons, even getting in trouble with the authorities. Of course, that was normal for them because they were surrounded by it through friends and family. They continued to live that life style even when they met each other at the ages of 18 and 23. They didn't like each other at first, but they eventually started dating. My mom ended up getting pregnant later that year and tried to take a break from all of it, but my dad didn't stop and that caused some tension and arguing between them.
When I think about my red house, a free and easy feeling rushes over. Worries consisted of macaroni being too hot, swinging too high, and Dora, my first dog, pooping in my room. With bookshelves filled with stuffed animals and countless Pooh Bear toys, I was always content. The playground in my backyard provided days of fun, and nights in my mom and dad’s bed gave me peaceful and comforting sleep, preparing me for the next day of work. The kitchen was where I liked to claim I “worked”. Although I didn’t do a lot of the actual cooking, I liked to be there while my mom was. A love for cooking and baking developed at a young age, around the same time I realized I wanted to be just like my mom. The song “Best Day” by Taylor Swift perfectly describes
Have you ever had something you were “super passionate” about be stripped away from you? Roughly one and a half years ago I started my sophomore year of lacrosse. The lineup of students on the lacrosse team this year promised us a spot in the championship. Throughout fall practices, the majority of the sophomore class played amongst the varsity team. As the season ramped up in the spring, we waited for our first game against Saint John Paul’s Christian Academy. First game of the year, we enveloped ourselves into the game and became one as a team. Running downfield with a clear, open shot on the goal “whoosh” I shot the ball bottom right, a bare miss. Suddenly “crash” I was hit from both sides and struggled to stay standing. As I came to my
