Over The Summer
Ow! Mom can we go to the doctor, I think i broke my wrist. More than one million people world wide break there wrist a year. How did i break my wrist, You know how hard it is to use your arm when its broke. One day i was playing with my sister and me and her were jumping over the couch to catch each other. We kept chasing each other are around then I fell it didn’t hurt so we kept playing en my sister fell and she didn't get hurt. Then I fell and it hurt. The next day I complained about my arm. My parents finally agreed to take me to the doctor. Then checked my weight and normal procedures doctors would do. Then they took an X-ray of my arm and they saw that I had broken my wrist. Then the doctor told
when I was about 5 I broke my arm pretty badly and didn't know what
I fell. This felt like I didn’t have a wrist. But I got back up really carefully and went up to the lounge to my dad and sister. Ah, Ah, Dad I think I broke my wrist. No you didn’t. It was swelling up, It hurt so bad I couldn’t even believe this was happening.
I first worked for Summer at Saints last year, as a volunteer unsure of what this experience would entail. Between the first drop-off and the final pick-up, I was quickly impressed, and to some extent intimidated, by its ability to transform. The timid became unafraid, the wild became calm and the rancorous became kind. The experiences of being a volunteer, and seeing these children mature, even in the smallest ways, has been the most rewarding experience at Summer at Saints.
When we came back from spring break i was on the baseball team this is a big surprise because surprise because i am bad at the game. When our first practice came around we were talking about fundamentals of the game. When i was listening i was confused because he wasn't making sense nor was he giving us the right information. One example is when you dip you shoulder and hit a pop up you dip your back shoulder and he said you dip your front shoulder.
When I broke my wrists snowboarding in 6th grade I had many challenges after that. It was on March 1st, 2015 is when I broke my first and second bone. I broke both of my wrists at the same time. It all happened so quickly I didn't know what happened. I was at powder ridge in Kimball, Minnesota and I was in the terrain park. The terrain park has rails, boxes and other features. I was jumping over this wood wall that had a jump going
I am Summer Salyer I have you 7th period. You are my favorite teacher because I am not that good at math, but you explain it so well and you help people that still do not understand it. SOME teachers just give you a paper and say do it or they don’t explain it well and so I can’t do the paper. My favorite thing I have done in your class was the store coupon list we had to do on the computer. I also like your class because you are fair to people and you don't choose favorites and you are very funny in class and always have a sense of humor.I hope you have a good day.
My left elbow hurt very badly and I could feel blood running down my arm. It hurt so badly that I was crying. After a few minutes, I tried to get up, but I made my elbow hurt so badly because I was adding pressure to much pressure to it. Then I bent my elbow to see if it was broken because on the shows my parents watch, the doctors tell the injured people to bend their arms or legs to see if they are broken. Finally, someone noticed me and called Jaci’s mom, Brooke, over.
Once we got to the hospital I had noticed that I still had my shorts and jersey on from the game. On top of that the bag of ice had a hole in the side and was leaking all over me and the hospital waiting room. Next to me an elderly couple was more than confused how I broke wrist after I explained I played soccer. Forty minutes later, I was finally getting a x-ray done and they did confirm it was broken. In result of the swelling I had to wait to cast and they temporarily gave me an arm
When I got home from practice, my mom and dad already knew about my wrist because coach had called them. My dad looked at my wrist and said that it looked really bad and that I should go to the ER.
We had this playset that had a bar on the left side to do flips on. On the other side there was a climbing rope, and in the front there were two swings. My brother and I came up with a game to see who could get over the bar fastest by doing a flip. So the first few times I did it I was fine, I grabbed the bar put my stomach on it and spun down. My brother and I took turns and on my 3rd turn I must not have done it correctly, but either way I hit my head on it right below my eyebrow. I fell on the ground and held my hand to my eye, by then I started crying because of shock. Surprisingly it didn’t hurt that bad, but it was just throbbing. My brother came over and told me to move my hand so he could look at it when I did he looked worried, he told me that we had to go in the house right away. I had blood all over the palm of my hand and on the right side of my face. He helped me up and walked there with me to the house.
When I got to the hospital they explained very slowly, “You are going to lose your hand because of the big piece of metal that went through your wrist and up your arm.”
I opened my eyes and looked up to see the bars above me and the suffocating smell of chalk filled my lungs as all eyes peered down at me. I was 8 and being in a situation as extreme as this without your parents is pretty difficult. I was at gymnastics camp in Pennsylvania 4 hours away from my parents. I had no phone and no way of contacting them except through letters. This was my second year at the camp and I loved it. I was on bars trying a squat on jump to high bar which I had previously done by myself. I fell in a funny way and landed on my arm so perfectly that it broke. A complete piece of my elbow broke off. I was rushed to the hospital.
It was august 4 3:47pm just 5 minutes before my arm would crack. My neighbor and I were upstairs in my room when she said “I’m bored let’s go outside. After 2 minutes we left my room and went into the hall. I slipped my shoes on half way and thought, once i’m in the living room I will put them on completely. The railing of the stairs measured, right by my waist, so I locked my arms. I had just started to go to the third step when my right leg slipped and I fell, landing seated.
Honestly , it was my first time going to the Accident and Emergency department i was scared and worried about what will happen to my wrist and how will my parents react .While my teacher was doing all the registration i sat there in state of shock . It was really a blessing having my best friend by my side comforting me and constantly telling me everything will be alright . I was then called to do some X-RAYS before consulting the doctor . My parents finally came and just right it was my turn to consult the doctor , my mother then went in together with me . The doctor was then examining my X-RAYS that i took before consulting him . My heart was beating very very fast as I am a right hander and i need my right hand to do many things . Finally the doctor spoke , he said that there was no obvious or major fractures shown in my X-RAYS but i have to put an temporary cast on my hand. He then referred me to a specialist at KK Children Bone Specialist to ensure there was no hairline fracture or any small minor fractures .
The wet rocks shifted beneath my feet causing me to lose my balance as I ran across the path. I landed hard on my left arm and immediately knew something was wrong – my wrist was swollen and already felt stiff. Gingerly, I picked myself up and walked over to my mom, showing her my misshapen limb. At the orthopedist the next day, I sat enthralled as he pointed out the thin line glowing on the film, explaining that I had fractured my arm and would need to wear a cast for six weeks.
