To be an excellent leader and citizen, in my opinion, you need to display passion, drive and encouragement. That is exactly what I tried to achieve while I was a trainer at Culver’s, volunteering at Red Cross Blood Drives and with the Clover Kids. I also tried to display my passion to be a leader and a good citizen when I would bring my race car to Sunshine Learning Center Daycare in Menomonie, WI for race car day. I have been racing cars since I was seven years old and since then I have been a role model to younger girls. When I bring my race car to Sunshine Learning Center Daycare I am trying to send a message across to the girls that they can be apart of a male dominant sport, just because it’s male dominant doesn’t mean that they can’t
What is a good leader ? A good leader needs to be someone people can look up to, and trust. A good leader should also be intelligent and trustworthy. I have been the Vice President of the Mendocino Spartan 4-H Club for two years, and hope to be president next year. And I know what it takes to be a good leader. Some of the qualities I had to learn where to include everybody, including the younger kids. And how to make people feel confident in me even when I wasn't confident in myself. The hardest thing for me, was to be responsible and prepared, it is really important so I had to learn, I asked for help from all the great leaders in our community.
Citizen leadership is just a great quality to add on the the numerous others. Everyone possess a gift and can provide help to those who don’t exactly know what they’re doing or they might just be having a hard time. What is the point of knowledge if you aren’t using it to help other people? Helping your community to become a more
I think that it is crucial that you are an honest, responsible and genuine student. I believe my actions as a student represent my values. I work hard to put my best foot forward and I know that it shows in my studies and actions. Your character is what sets you apart for others. Qualities of leadership are an important aspect of being a National Honor Society member. I show leadership in both the classroom and in the community. I have taken on leadership roles in school such as class president, class treasurer, and taking on primary roles in a majority of class projects. But I also take on roles in the community by being secretary of the Broken Bow Library Teen Advisory Board and volunteering at the Anselmo-Merna Youth Volleyball Camps. But to be an effective leader you have to be a positive role model and have ethical values, and I believe I possess both important qualities. To be a good leader you need to put others above yourself and take initiative to step forward for the greater good. I strive to be a good leader by demonstrating these qualities. Service can be demonstrated in numerous ways. It is very important in National Honor Society to give back to the school and
A good leader inspires people to better themselves. I feel I am a good candidate for the National Honor Society because I have leadership experiences in refereeing youth soccer games, volunteering in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, and taking Links, which is a class that helps students with autism in their classes. While referring children's soccer games I had to pick and choose the calls that I had to make so the kids could learn the game but also have fun playing the game. Even though some kids didn't like it, I had to be a sense of authority to them to make sure none of them got hurt when playing soccer. When I go to visit my little brother, for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, I help him with his homework, and also make it fun
This has kept me out of many of the elected leadership positions in our school. However, there are many other ways that I exemplify my role as a leader. One of these ways is by being a part of athletics. I have always felt like a leader in this environment, as I have always exceeded at sports. As an underclassman, I would be the one who helped out with cleaning up, and pushed my teammates to get better. Being apart of these smaller groups allows me to feel more comfortable when leading others. I also lead the team to getting better by helping to set up practices when the coaches were not allowed to coach in the off season. This made me a better leader in everyday life as I am now a more active leader. I lead in group projects, telling people what needs to be done and when. I make sure people are on track, and do not act out. Despite not being a leader to the many, I have still been able to make a big difference by being a leader in my everyday life as an athlete and a
Firstly, in my Academic Career, I have held a multitude of leadership roles. My sophomore year , I was a class representative for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, commonly known as FCCLA. It was my duty to alert members and keep them up to date regarding meetings and activities. As a representative of FCCLA, I learned how to work as a unit leader and a team member. That same school year, I ran for the district office of secretary for FCCLA. The nomination and election process, gave me the opportunity to grow and nurture my leadership abilities. It was eminently challenging; but I learned the importance of discipline and hard work. I accomplished my goal and was nominated Secretary for FCCLA. This office allowed me to meet plenty
To begin, I exhibit qualities of a great leader. Firstly, at my Saturday morning bowling league, I am positioned as the anchor, which means I am expected to lead my team to victory.. Secondly, I lead by being a good example to my peers, and I am a positive role model. Lastly, when my friends have problems they come to me and I lead them to a positive solution. This is being a good leader.
The qualities of a good leader include, bravery, compassion, and the ability to stay (relatively calm) in stressful situations. I once read someone that ‘a person who wants power should not be a leader’, which I believe is a very important quality of a leader. A power-hungry person would not make decisions in the best interest of the people they are in charge of, but of their own best interests. An NJHS member should have the ability to be a leader, because someone who has such an honor is more likely to be given leadership in a stressful or even dangerous situation, and a person with the intellect is more likely to go into politics. An NJHS member with poor leadership skills, who decides to go into politics would have a difficult time making decisions on the behalf of a city, state, or even the country. I like to think that I demonstrate leadership in a few ways. I excel at doing well in stressful situations. For challenge science, we have fairly long tests, and fairly short periods. Finishing the test and getting a high grade are two very stressful parts of test taking, but I do not let the stress interfere with my test taking. I am also compassionate with other people, emphasizing and sympathizing with
My mother always told me, ‘When the going gets tough, the tough get going.’ When times get rough it is important to not waste time sitting in self-pity, instead you need to take charge and change things for the better. I believe that being a good leader does not wait around just hoping, instead they make things happen. There are many elements that I believe make a good leader, but just being genuine and passionate towards a cause is what I believe is most important.
It takes a lot to be a leader. It takes experience, communication, positivity, passion, and much more to be an effective leader. Communication, positivity, and passion are the three most important characteristics to me. I represent all three of these with great pride. I communicate effectively whether it be in the classroom, on
Being a leader is being a role model and striving to make a positive impact on those around you. In order to be a successful leader, you have to put yourself second and your peers first. For example, my younger sister and I both play softball. I have played on several travel teams during the summer and this year, she tried out for her first competitive travel team. I was asked to aid her by helping her with the mechanics of the game. During this time, I sacrificed my time to put the needs of another person before my own and it paid off, because she made the team and I got to witness the results of my
As I was growing up, I naturally looked for ways to help my community. It was an concept that I was extremely fond and passionate about at an early age. Through this, leadership came easily and almost inherently. When high school came I emerged myself within the wide variety of activities. It was just an effortless tendency. I loved being involved, therefore I got myself involved. As a freshmen, I was at the bottom and I watched in amazement of how the upperclassmen led with such confidence and drive. I aspired to be like them one day. With this large desire to make my mark in my small community, I naturally took on leadership roles because I wanted to make an impact, a lasting impact. John Quincy Adams once said, “If your actions inspire others
I understand being a good or even great leader takes a great amount of hard work and dedication. No matter where I am or what I am doing, I push myself to the limit and do what needs to be done; sometimes even more. I strive to be the best in all I do. I want to become a good leader like my father. I want to be able to handle even the most difficult situations in the most calm and confident manner.
Being a good leader is done by making the correct choices and inspiring people to complete their tasks and work together as a team. In order to be a great leader you need to think outside the box and travel the road that is seldom or never traveled. A great leader will use their inspiration and determination to complete the tasks no matter what hurdles or problems they
So, first and foremost quality of a leader is not only to see at high things but also make the people see and strive for the same thing. For this purpose, they have to monitor even minor things by making people feel valued and inspired. A good
