All I remember is I was running through the woods and this guy was chasing me. Now here I am in this person's house. Blood dripping from the gash on my forehead. ‘’Why am I here!” I pleaded. Then blank. I awoken to a voice saying’’ Finally your awake!’’ the voice was a man’s. Deep and booming .
The political cartoon I chose was drawn by Henry Payne. The political cartoon depicts President Obama playing golf. I chose this cartoon for many different reasons and I feel this relates to how I feel about the current politics. I will show how this cartoon applies to the current situation the government is facing.
It was the middle of October, and it was finally time for my long awaited moose hunt. I have waited ever since I was a little girl for this opportunity, and it was finally here. So, my father and I packed up our stuff and left the warmth of Phoenix. We were leaving the "Valley of the Sun" and headed for a place called Wyoming. After two days and fourteen long hours of driving, we made it to our hunting unit.
One glorious morning my grandpa and I got up bright and early. We got ready and headed into the woods to prepare for our deer hunt. We walked through the brush as quiet as possible so that we would not spook any animals in the area. On our way to the hunting spot, we stopped in a couple areas to take in how beautiful the view was. Once we took the view in we kept moving toward our hunting spot. Finally, we reach our hunting blind and we get all set up for the hunt. My grandpa and I sat in the blind and talked quietly about how we hoped a deer would come by soon so that we didn’t have to hunt all day. About twenty-five minutes into the hunt I hear a faint noise come from behind me. My eyes lit up with excitement hoping that when I turned around
Ever heard of the Appalachian trail, it’s 2,000 miles of wildness stretched of all you see.
When it comes to love, often times people believe that it is one of the strongest forces of nature. Love can bring people together, heal the wounded, and overcome almost any obstacle set in its path. Or can it? I believe that love can and will always prevail, or as the saying goes “conquer all”. After reading Mira Jacob’s “The Arranged Marriage That Ended Happily Ever After: How My Parents Fell In love, 30 Years Later” and also, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm’s “Cinderella” it just affirmed my opinion on the strength of love.
Humans are animals. Even as developed, personalized, and intelligent as we are, we share a deep connection with every living thing. However, many of the problems in the world result from the human belief that technology is more powerful and can replace the serene, perfect essence of nature. I believe that a connection with nature can heal wounds and help humans find balance in their lives.
We greeted each other with kind respect. We met on the trail when his wagon broke. I offer to help Curtis Mick Colloni with his wagon. We exchange each other name and we left. I knew he was a skilled doctor and he he would I left the place and I ask Curtis if he would like travel together. As I was walking, I saw Hunter. I ran up to him and greeted him. I met Hunter Norm Cline during the trail when it block by a log. There was a lot of people and together, Hunter organized the group to pull the log. I ask if he would like to join me on the way to Oregon. He said he had 2 other family going on the trail and ask if I would join. He also mentioned that he was the leader of the group. I merge with the group and together we form a wagon
My number one and dominate passion is deer hunting with a bow. If I could turn this into a business venture of mine, I would enjoy every single day at work and not take any days off. I think it would be an amazing idea because first off, I love to hunt. Therefore I would be doing something I love every day through hunting season and prepare throughout the spring and summer months to be ready when the first day of the season rolls around. Second, I would be traveling, learning new things and meeting new people along the way, as well as teaching others the tricks and the trades that I have used along the way. The steps I would take to start this business would be very tough but it would be accomplish able with dedication and hard work. The first
Last year I started a new sport, cross country. I only did it because my lacrosse coach said that it might help me get better for lacrosse. So I went to the first late summer practice last year to see what this was like, so then we did warm-ups and a lap around the track. Then it was the first time I met coach Chase, My first impression of him was going to be very strict, But soon realized that this was false because of one of the first things he said. He said “I know there are a lot of nerves here right now, but cross country isn’t about winning every race, that comes later” then continued with “Cross country is about showing what you can do to yourself.” This struck me very hard because I was not that fast and was near the back. Through that fall the team did very well, I also made some progress myself. After the season was over I made a decision.
I woke up early to go hunting, but my brother had to go with me. So, JJ and I went hunting. I saw a deer and shot it with my bow that I made out of a tree branch. I got the fur from the deer and made boots, gloves, and a coat.
When people are on winter break, most want to go out and play in the snow, but who knew that the snow could be one's worst nightmare when stubbornness comes into play. Most people go out on an enjoyable snow-white day to sled down snowy hills and fling semi-hard snowballs at each other. No one would think that maybe sledding down the snowy hills could be so dangerous when they are having fun, and trying to show off. I certainly did not think that it was dangerous, but boy was I so wrong. Normally being a Los Angeles girl, going up to Big Bear is such an amazing experience, because down in the Los Angeles region it does not snow at all. However, I was not ready to face what was slowly going to change me in the mountains of California.
Riding along the Oregon Trail can be treacherous, risky, and at times perilous. Some aspects that make it so dangerous are: hunger, disease, suicide, a broken wagon, falling out of the wagon and getting run over by the wheels, Indians attacking, and … storms. Believe it or not , storms cause substantial amounts of trouble. I am fortunate enough to say, I, Dahlia Clark, lived to tell about it.
The sun was glistening through the tall, swaying pines. To the right of the trail, a gentle river flowed softly down towards the mouth of the lake. Walking across the rickety wooden bridge, I inhaled a deep breath of refreshingly crisp mountain air. The sun beat down on me as I made my way across the bridge and back onto the well-used hiking trail. The ambient sounds of chirping birds, babbling water, and the croaks of several frogs filled my ears as I made my way around the bend. As I entered the mouth of the forest, I could see my father standing in the middle of the path, glancing upwards, taking in the beauty that had began to engulf us. “We better get going.” he said, looking back at me. “There’s still many miles to go.” I smiled and turned, taking in one last view of the beautiful creekside. Then, with determination, we set out to finish the challenging trek we had started.
I was travelling through the rainforest when I lost my way. It was terrible. I got bitten by bugs, attacked by animals, and had nothing to eat or drink. Monkeys stole my map and wouldn’t give it back. I chased those monkeys, begging for my map, but I think they were laughing at me. Needless to say, I didn’t get my map back. I tried to find my way out, but I kept walking in circles.
