Personal Narrative: Runs In The Park

It was a bright crisp autumn Texas morning, when I decided to go for a run at a nearby park. Running the trails at the park seems to always give me a tranquil feeling afterwards. It clears my mind and gives me the energy and strength that I may need to conquer everyday obstacles. It makes me appreciate the simple things in life much more which I know at many times I have taken for granted. Runs in the park open up unforeseen opportunities from the beautiful landscape, its natural habitats and all the beauty Mother Nature has blessed us with. Upon arriving at the park I'm surrounded by lanky live oak trees, brittle leaves falling one by one, it's a sign of the seasons that chilly days are coming upon us. With the cool air up against my face, the smells and sounds of nature I completely forget to listen to my playlist. Instead I opt for natures natural tunes. As I run through the pathway I realize I've been pacing myself as if I didn't want to come to the end. Surrounded by the colors of fall, the smells of nature, and the sounds of those the beltway houses I realize how my surroundings have calmed my senses. It's as if these simple moments have put me in a better mood and all of a sudden this "workout" no longer seems like work, but an inspiration to strive for more. My mind is refreshed and my body re-energized ready to have a productive day. Unforeseen thoughts pop into my head just as new answers to matured problems unfold.
