Her head was down. ‘Don’t touch me,’ she said. “Please don’t touch me.’” Through their disagreement the little flame of love that once was a tremendous flame has now dwindled down to the smallest dying ember left. Her words are like daggers piercing the heart of Jake Barnes who longs for her. She denies him of everything he wants with her, but she will not let him leave her side, but rather have him some torturous limbo crushing his heart every time there is a slight chance she gives him. Another example of this would be when she comes to visit him after they went out drinking and she left with the count to go have some fun. “I have to go.’ ‘You don’t have to.’ ‘Yes I do’”. This is her telling him goodbye after they kiss. She keeps saying that she loves him and they reject the idea of a unsexual relationship with him. This longing for her just cuts deeper into Jake.

It has been at least an hour and a half since the attack. She does not remember anything that happened. She slowly get up and reaches for the doorknob. A sudden shot of pain went up her arm. Blood then started dripping from her hand. She had been cut. A knife stabbed her in her hand. “Ow.”, She then blacks out.
The blood freezes in her vains. Her whole body freezes in shock as she could feel the barrel of a pistol against the back of her head. Hearing at the same time that significant sing-song voice. She holds her breath, it feels like her heart stops beating. The disbelieve and shock in her mistress´ eyes and the fear on the face of her son are making it even worse.
She’d been taunting her husband, their whole relationship because she didn’t really love him, and she cheated on with Tom and still had Tom coming to the garage. Before the end of her journey, her neighbor Michaelis heard her yell at her husband saying, “Beat me!” he heard her cry. “Throw me down and beat me, you dirty little coward.” She yelled this possibly because her husband had her locked up inside their garage. She’d been shouting at and running away from her husband when she’d been struck by a car.
She had a brace around her neck and one of her eyes was swollen shut. She couldn’t speak, everything hurt. Her owner had returned her. He said she was defective, and the agency blamed her for the beating. The woman chided her that she should have pleased him more. If she had tried harder he wouldn’t have beat her. Rachel didn’t even have the strength to cry.
As a reader, we notice that she is using repetition of going back and forth through these emotions and tones. Another repetition that is happening through this paragraph is the saying “this is how to”. With the repetition, we go back to the mother yelling at her daughter
As a result of this, she’s transforming into a whole new person because of him. Over time, she loses aspects of herself. At time 2:24 of Without The Lights, he removes her sweater from her. (2:24) In other words, the layer of clothing represents a layer of her original self, therefore becoming more reliant on him. Another reoccurring common theme is a simple shot of a lightbulb. The light is being covered by a black tar at time 2:55. Metaphorically, the tar represents the girl’s heart, being tainted by the abuser’s vicious actions and

For we feared that some kind of creature had taken over our cabin. What was once a peaceful vacation spot was know a place of eeriness.
Angela wasn’t ready for the sight of her baby sister hanging from the joists like a piece of meat on a hook. For a moment, all she could do was tremble and feel the hot tears run down her face. When she screamed, people all down Walsh and Bishop turned on their lights and looked to see what could have cause that sound. It was the sound of pure hurt and
Twenty years ago today, God gave me my second child. She has come to have many nicknames from my gift from God, my Angel of Jesus, to my Princess. Lauren Bailey, you have developed into a beautiful young lady, who is head strong and always knows what she wants. Even as a baby you knew what you wanted and how you were going to do things. When the doctors told me that they needed to take you away as soon as I had you, I lost a piece of me, because I did not know what to expect especially after your first surgery at five days old, but you showed your dad and I that you were strong and willing to live. You have shown so much courage, even at 9 years old, when you had your open heart surgery and you told me “Mom if God wants me to be with him, I
BANG, BANG, the gun fires off. She knows what she has done is wrong, but she did not know what to do, he had to pay for what he has done. She stands there looking at his cold lifeless body lying on the hardwood floor, she sees blood leaking onto the floor. She cannot stay here, she puts the gun down beside him and flees, she does not know where she is going, she just knows she has to run.
She felt the warm, sticky coalescence of blood on the back of her skull, still running in a thin trickle down the back of her neck, trailing down her spine and creating dark stripes on her skin. She was naked, her defenses and any protections stripped away, meant to deprive her of her dignity and pride.
‘They hurt me. So I hurt them’ I said, emotionless, letting my feelings run out like a tap. My head was clear, dangerous. Objects became distorted. Clarice’s face became white. Her heart was a gunshot, piercing my ears with bullets. She waved her arms about and shook her head as if she was trying to will out the memories, the words, the actions.
Jolie tried her hardest to remain quiet as she entered the dark, musty basement that smelt like dead animals. The music played loudly, which masked the creaks of the stairs she stepped on. She gripped the broom tightly in her hand. Jolie squinted her eyes around to make out anything that made the music turn on or the loud crashes. Her eyes rested on a man and she tried her hardest not to panic. She quickly, but quietly turned around and walked up the stairs trying to remain calm all the while. When the man started humming along with the violin music she began to cry; she didn’t want to cry. Jolie gripped the railing and the broom slipped from her hand and fell down the stairs. The man jerked around made eye contact with her. He was frowning and then a devilish smirk appeared. She let out the scream she had been holding in for what seemed like forever. Jolie
