When you’re a teen you tend to make irrational and in the moment decisions, especially during summer vacation, tonight happened to be one of those nights. Take it back a week prior, I was texting my boyfriend Connor and he had brought up the idea that we could sneak out together. I brushed off the idea thinking it was insane and that I could never disobey my parents, but it started to grow on me a little. Now don't get me wrong, I’m generally a good kid that doesn't like to bend the rules, but I figured “it's summer, live a little”. So we put the plan into place and started thinking about what we would do and how I would sneak out. We decided to have my best friend skyelar sleep over at my house and be my lookout for when I came back in. Saturday night finally rolls around, Skyelar's at my house and everybody in the house is asleep. I figured it's now or never, so I text Connor saying he can come to my house and pick me up. The anticipation starts getting to me as I get ready for the long night ahead of me. As I’m doing my makeup and putting together an outfit the thoughts in my head are going a mile a minute, “what if we get caught?”, “what if we get in a car crash, how will I explain this to my parents?”, “what if I can't get back in the house?”. As I’m putting on my shoes, my phone lights up with two words, “I’m here”. My heart drops, I quickly make a makeshift me with pillows and blankets, shut the bedroom light off, and quietly shut my door. I tiptoe down the hallway
“I sat down next to my brother, Dan, on the couch and got on my laptop. He started to look at my laptop and asked what I was doing with a smirk on his face. It was obvious that he knew what I was doing so I ignored him. My homework was to type a 5 paragraph essay on what we did over the summer. As I began to write, my laptop started to glitch. It kept happening over and over as I continued to type.
When we came back from spring break i was on the baseball team this is a big surprise because surprise because i am bad at the game. When our first practice came around we were talking about fundamentals of the game. When i was listening i was confused because he wasn't making sense nor was he giving us the right information. One example is when you dip you shoulder and hit a pop up you dip your back shoulder and he said you dip your front shoulder.
During Summer Break, I mow the Sykeston St. Elizabeth Cemetery for my SAE. The church provides the lawn mower and trimmer, but I have to bring my own gas. Furthermore, I currently hold President of the Carrington FFA Chapter, in 2016, we organized Meals of Hope to provide food to those in need. The entire Student Body participated and we packaged over 51,000 meals beating the goal of 50,000 in 2 hours. I am also the Secretary of the Rural Raiders 4-H Club in Foster County, I enter static exhibits, show livestock, rabbits, and poultry. These many experiences relate to my educational goals by the traits of success, leadership, cooperation, and gratitude. These traits will help me be honest and fair in the game of
The thing I liked about spring break that I did was when I went to the party over my cuzens house. It was very fun, we played Vollyball but I didn’t get to play that much mostly the grownups played instead of the kids, we played basketball and soccer. We had so much fun there and we all had a great time. The party was great and everyone had a great time there!!
It was just another day in paradise… the day I almost died. Okay I need to back up a little bit. I was on vacation in Florida. My parents, siblings, and grandparents were all there also. This quote comes to mind when I tell this story, “in the blink of an eye everything can change. So forgive often and love with all your heart. You never know when you may not have that chance again.”
Last year, our youth director decided to start a Middle School Retreat led by the high school students. So the high school students came together to create a fun, but faith-building weekend. We created hospitality gifts, organized games and activities, and planned worship and sermons.
We’re only several days away from 2017 and I’m sure we can all agree that 2016 was a really, almost unbearably, long and turbulent year for many of us. We’ve been graced with everything ranging from people becoming dogs on Snapchat to Vine being shutdown and lets not forget McDonalds introduced a 24-hours breakfast menu. Although 2016 was the worst we’re going to recap on all the good and bad things this year has given us incase you forgot.
At the time, I was at Lake middle school, it was almost winter break. I was 14 years old. Joyfully, I am anticipating leaving school for winter break. Obviously I am leaving because we were about to get let out of school. During that moment, I was feeling really excited. I couldn’t wait to get home.
Six teenagers set out for a lake house to have fun for spring break. Billy was a smart guy but not many friends, Tommy was a Superstar at everything he does and he friends with everyone. Zack was a dancer that liked to dance and was very popular at school. Trini was a girl but she's was part of the guys. Kimberly was the queen bee at the school and all the guys liked her for everything. Jason was an Athlete that was good and was cool. These kids never would know going out to the lake house would be their last time as ordinary tenneagers. Tommy and Jason would always compete to see who was the best athlete but Tommy always ended up winning. At school, Billy and Kimberly set up a get together where everyone was going to have a spring break. As soon as the bell rang they
There were many things I enjoyed about my summer. I learned some valuable lessons and had a lot of fun. This was my last official summer before I become an adult; next summer will be filled with college preparations so I had to have fun while i still had the chance. Over my break I worked, I spent time with friends, and I also started driving.
It was the week before spring break and little did I know I was about to have the time of my life. It all started when my mom told my sister and I we were going someplace special for spring break. My sister automatically assumed we were going to Disney World. Me and my mom didn’t like that idea much, but it was already decided my sister and I just didn’t know yet but we were about to find out. Then my mom told us we were going to Branson. Of Course me and my sister had know problem with that.
This summer changed the way I perceived the world in two profound manners, Firstly, I embarked on a new journey that included a full-time job, thesis research, and constant battles with my friends and hair. Secondly, I reentered the dating, which altered my perspective of relationships and love.
So, it seems like our freshman year is over, and we are now juniors. Surprisingly enough, Haruhi didn't make the rest of us do much during spring break, so I spent most of my time at home with my sister. However, the coming of April means the coming of school, so my peaceful days are over.
“Lloyd over here!” The higher pitched voice of Katie yells from a table she is sitting at with several others. Sadly for Katie, she is almost a year older than me and is one of those unlucky few that had to start school a year late because of their unfortunate birthday a week into the school year. And you can tell that fact when you first look at her she is all around more developed than others in our year, and she always got picked on when we were younger about how she was taller and hit puberty earlier than all the other girls. That’s actually how we met, a couple of jackasses decided to throw rocks at her in the playground, and I beat them up for it. I recognize Bara; an almost black but still blue haired, blue eyed, petite girl that’s dating
The best experience I had was when I went to Holiday World with my 8th grade class for our 8th grade trip. We took a small bus because, we had a small class and we only had sixteen kids in our class, it took about four to five hours there and back, we left about 5:30 in the morning. We arrived at the park at 10:00. We rode all the roller coasters that were open and available to ride. Here are the names of the roller coasters we rode, The Voyager, The Raven, and The Ledgen and I thought to my self “im gonna die “ There were more to the park like the Safari Park, but that water park was closed because we went on the trip on May 9th and that was the first day that Holiday World has open this year.
