When I look back upon that day all I can do is sit back and grin euphorically, grin and think about all the years of begging that had led up to that moment. It all happened so quickly, as if decided on the flip of a coin. As we began down the driveway I could feel the anticipation build within me as the cold of winter tickled my nose. After ten long years of imploring and convincing, today was the day my wish had finally come to fruition. Today was the day I finally got a dog. My family had spent three months visiting the breeder’s house spending time with the litter of three german shepherd puppies. The first day at the breeders, we were allowed to meet and play with the puppies. Their fur, a dark black on their backs and stomach and a
Walking up to the shelter only to find that the dog we wanted is being taken home by another family, we thought we wouldn't be getting a dog today. But when we found her, we were glad that the other dog was taken. Her black, slicked back fur shedding off of her perfect dog body. Her black beady eyes are bulging out of her head with the look of excitement. Unable to hold herself back she breaks the leash that the vet was trying to hold her back with. Running to us, she slips and falls on her head. We don’t have a second to worry because she jumps up and starts licking our faces with her slobbery tongue. By the time she is tired from licking our faces, we feel as if we just went swimming in a pool of melting jello
Hello pretty people, Sam here. I went through a specific process when picking Cooper to be my first dog. I wanted to walk you all through that process to hopefully make it easier on you when trying to pick out a dog.
In 2008, I spent the summer with my Uncle, Aunt and 2 cousins in Missouri. They picked me up at the airport, and the car ride was filled with discussion about a puppy they had just gotten 2 days prior. It was explained that my cousins wanted a dog since their friends’ family had gotten a dog recently. My Uncle, happy to oblige, stopped at a neighbor’s house one day, who was giving away puppies they could not care for, as is common in small town America. He picked out the cutest one and went on his way. The family was so happy to have “Roxy” in their home and on their farm.
It was a bright sunny day my family and I just adapted a beautiful lab mixed with a great dane. We were in my mom’s van heading to Petco. My family and I were going to Petco to get all the supplies my new puppy needs. So, we pull in to the parking lot of Petco.
Each day I would wake up the same way. With a smile on my face and everything in its place. Feeling whole and complete. Suddenly, it's different. Waking up from the night with a gaping hole inside yourself, knowing that life will never be quite the same. That hollow feeling doesn't seem to go away. As you know that the trusted pal you once had laying at the edge of your bed each morning, scruffy and content. Will never be there to greet you ever again. Growing up with a dog, having only known a life with them, comes to a shocking halt when they leave you. Until you can find the strength in the loss.
On 10/17/16 at 6:21pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 3944 Carlton Ave on a dog at large, possible owner known. I arrived at the location and knocked on the door; I received no answer, and left a door notice. As I was talking to the complainant dog owner Johnny Allen Jr arrived home. I talk to Mr. Allen advised him that we have received complaints that his dog was running loose. Mr. Allen stated that his dog is not getting out and if his dog is getting out its due its next door neighbor fencing not being secured. I asked to see Mr. Allen dog, he complied. I asked if his dog was current on dog license and vaccinations. Mr. Allen admitted that his dog is not current on dog license due to him not knowing about the law. Mr.
She was a lot of fun to play with and she was very energetic. We did not get her that day, but the employees told us that the dog we were interested in was going to be at Petsmart the next day. We went to Petsmart and we were going to make the final decision if we were going to get her. My sister and I really wanted her but my dad was hesitant about the idea of getting her. He did not know if we were ready for another dog. My sister and I really wanted her so we exclaimed “ we will do everything to take care of the dog!”
I got up that morning getting ready for school, went downstairs and gave her a kiss before I left. The whole day I wanted to go home just to be with my puppy, and then I got a call from my mom. “Raina, you need to get your sister and come home,” Mom said. “Why?” I replied. “Lexie is not doing good so we need to take her to the vet, and end her suffering,” Mom said in a sad voice.
I saw a wander puppy in a street, and it came forward onto me. It looked a tiny gray all on the shiny coat and black on the mask of his muzzle.
Indy, my border terrier, ran ahead of me as we skirted the deserted baseball diamond. His nose was to the ground, his tail held high. Border terriers hunt fox and rabbit, but Indy's instincts are warped. He stalks day-old pizza and leftover hunks of cheese. Before I could catch him, he had disappeared behind the dumpsters of the high school parking lot.
I got my horse when I was twelve for my golden birthday. Before I took my horse home, I went to where he currently was to learn how to ride and spend some time with him so we were both comfortable with each other. My first day there the woman I bought my horse from took me out to the pasture and told me to call his name, Kash. When Kash was the first of many horses to come up to the gate, I knew that he was going to be a great horse. Kash is a chestnut brown and his mane and tail are black, he has a white spot on his forehead and one of his ankles is completely white. The first of three days I did not ride Kash; however, I did groom him and repeatedly put on and took off his halter, bridle, and saddle. The purpose of this was for both Kash and I to get comfortable with each other and for me to learn how to do all these things since I had never been around a
It was a bright sunny Saturday afternoon on November 30th 2013 when my mom found me outside doing chores.
"Only if you take care and pay for it and all its things." mom replied
My new dog was staring blankly at me wondering when I would pick him up and take him home. I was at a ranch near Los Angeles, it was a humid day. The ranch had a large field and a small house probably enough for 3 people. The ranch smelled awful from all the animals and waste. Questions were racing through my mind. “ How would I know which one to pick?” “How would the dog react if I try to take him?” I thought about the questions my Mom would ask me if I chose one. “Are you sure that's the one you want?” “ There are many more to choose from.” We found the man that was keeping the puppies. He looked like he just got done working since he was covered in dirt head to toe.
My first dog was named Toby, he was a very white, ball of fluff. He blended in with the shiny white crispy snow on December 25, 2006. My sisters and I were on our way home from my dad’s house when all of a sudden we pulled into my mom’s house. On Sunday, December 25, 2006, Toby was waiting at our house. We all got out of the car on that cold snowy day and walked on the slippery sidewalk. The snow was like a chilling carpet on the bottoms of our feet. My mom opened the door with a camera so my sisters and I knew something was up. A shocking step in the house and we saw a very fluffy dog, we were very excited. He was like a deer in headlights. There was a bunch of screaming and yelling going on at that moment between the three of us. We
