The navy blue water was almost black and a smooth stone stretching toward the horizon. The horizon was barely visible, but the fading sunset was still barely visible. The moon was full and bright. Stars filled the sky and the water like holes in a black blanket. My feet were bare, but my body was covered with a short black dress that barely covering my upper thigh. The sand was soft and cool. It felt refreshing. I had no reason to move because I was content with the view I had. I stood where I was and looked out at the bright moon and the stone and the sky.
Soon, though there was no heat, the sand became to feel warm and not as refreshing. The water looked comfortable and crystal clear. I took a step into the water, barely covering the bottom of my foot. The water was shallower than I expected, but it felt refreshing all the same. I stepped deeper into the water, but it was about as shallow as the first step. I continued taking steps, but the water wasn’t getting any deeper. I looked down at a step and realized that the ocean was miles deep, but my feet barely made a ripple in the water. I started laughing. I should have looked down sooner and prevented the needless steps taken. I decided to walk back to the beach, but when I was looking for it, it was nowhere to be seen.
I was worried about

I didn’t was surprised to see the stars start moving, but I was fascinated. I decided to see the image, if any, the stars were creating. I ended up seeing a very detailed picture, almost a painting, of a party filled with people celebrating a holiday. I did not know how I knew it was a holiday, but instinct told me it was a holiday. Then, again, the stars started moving! The stars started to make the people dance and laugh and sing. I could almost hear the music of the party from my place in the ocean, though there was not any music. I was almost dancing along with the
I’m in a quiet and warm place. I hear a noise and noticed that I just stepped on a branch filled with color edible blueberries. I look up and see all types of edible fruit that surround these colorful trees. Crackling leaves, crunching twigs, the fresh scent of pine nuts in a rainy mahogany brown forest surround me. It feels like paradise. As I walked slow and relaxed, I can hear a deafening uproar of a mocking jay above me, a glimpse of a tiger’s gold bright eyes as he passed by me and a bright light leading me the way to the blue horizon. In my tranquil place it’s always summer. Not too hot, but just right with a slight breeze gently against on my skin. The ocean is surrounded by palm trees the size of buildings
I was a passenger in the backseat of our family vehicle. The small bumps in the pavement lulled me to a place of perfect repose. As we looked outside our windows we could see the sky painting a magnificent show for us. The sun was going down, but the heavens were brighter and more astounding than I had ever seen them before. It was as if someone had set the clouds alight with raging wildfires and splashes of pink and purple scattered about. I never wanted it to end, but the sky had other plans. The masterpiece before us began to recede into darkness as the nighttime engulfed the sun and put daytime to
Suddenly, there was the Pacific Ocean, as blue as a large aquamarine gem. I was high on a cliff overlooking the beach far below. Huge black rock formations, like jagged, decaying teeth, jutted out of the water with wave after turquoise wave slapping against them. The waves also slammed against my cliff, spraying mist from the ocean onto my face. The roar of the wind embraced the land, and the thunder of the waves somehow had a calming effect.
tea as the summer night air flew by. Showers of silent raindrops fell as whirling clouds passes through with feet marching towards the peaceful skies.I felt my eyes grew tired from watching the streets filled with people and lights. The street lamp were making the pavement glisten, reflecting upon the crescent moon and the thousand stars. The sea gasped for air with each shallow, stifled little waves that hit the shores. I had the whole sky in my eyes and the view was stunning it felt like where space and time has lost its continuity, without any fear or anxiety, watching all the quasars that shines through endless nights and stars like diamonds in disguise.
My toes wiggling in the damp golden sand. The salty air invading my nostrils. Ocean waves are crashing up against the shore and receding back into the deep blue waters. The ultraviolet rays of the sun are heating my pale skin. William and the boys are building a large sandcastle. They cover the gleaming turrets with slimy brown seaweed and pristine white shells. The rolling hills to my right are a dark shade of green, having been healthily watered by the summer showers. Small feathery clouds move steadily through the gleaming blue limitless
I put my into the water and my feet touched hard peebles in the warm water. I got deeper into the water and went under and tasted nasty salt water. I pulled my head out of the water and my eyes burned. I had to go back into the hot sand to get a towel and rubbed my eyes until they stopped burning. I laid my towel down and sat on
Have you ever seen the dolphin from Dolphin Tale? Have you ever had an bounce house at your birthday? What was your first roller coaster? Have you ever had a awesome birthday present? What’s your favorite baseball team? These are some of my top 5 memories, what are yours!?
I don’t know how you did it, but within a month you have made me absolutely crazy about you. And it might seem like all these feelings are coming out of the blue but that’s because I have been holding them back because the last thing I want to do is scare you away. Yet I feel like if I don’t share these feelings and thoughts with you I could lose your attention and someone else could win you over, and that is honestly my worst fear at this point. Babe, you’re amazing. The fact that I was able to open up to you about how my dad rejected my coming out and you could calm me down and be there for me was calming. Any time I am stressed and I talk to you, you’re always so supportive and reassuring and I love that more than anything. You’re the type
Have you ever been out on the river, when it's storming out with hail, thunder and lighting? I have before it was pretty dangerous. But it was a good experience and I lived. I just ignored all the warning signs out there because it was a hot long day. That experience tells me to check the weather. Tells me to listen to the warning signs that are given out at the time. But was an awesome story to tell and a beautiful sight of the sky in the end.
A rainy morning, after days of strong winds, had us both feeling a little battered and fed up. We knew we were only a short dinghy ride from the groceries available at the commissary on Sigsby Island and didn’t know when we would next be this close to any grocery store. Knowing we needed to take advantage of this opportunity and both needing some off the boat time, with the brightening of the day around noon, we took a dinghy ride to the Navy Marina.
I started to drift off--far off. I pictured the massive ocean back on Earth, where I saw the white water on the sea of drab green. I felt the wind blowing, my hair bowing, as it made its sound in my ears, as I tasted the salt spray from the waves crashing on the breakers, as I inhaled deeply. I pondered. The distant horizon was disturbed by the occasional sailboat. I pictured an oil tanker on the horizon. The taste of the salt air intensified, as I thought about it longer. The seagull standing in air, as it looked down for a new meal. I felt the sun's rays as it momentarily broke through the partly cloudy sky. I became entranced by my imagination as I listened to the repetitive sound of the waves breaking on the beach. I see footprints
I am from pots and pans, from cookbooks and random mixing of ingredients. I am from the glossy clay in the ground, from the dreidels my ancestors gambled with. I am from the family christmas tree, from the branches that have lingered waiting to be decorated . I am from chestnut hair and peridot streaked eyes, from the Advocates and the Rosses. I am from the hands on builders and the stick to the book learners, from the academics and from the arts.
My parents and I happily trudged out of our chilled condo room, weighed down by various beach supplies. We made our way to the elevator, slowly but surely exiting the maze we call our condo hallways. As we glided down, floor after floor, we finally reached the parking garage. We stepped out of the elevator feeling a mix of humidity and heat immediately cling to our tan bodies. We exited the garage to find a beautiful scene. Birds were flying overhead as there were sun rays beating down against white, hot sand. We crossed the bridge that held shoes and scattered shells. After we did so, we pressed our feet against the white sand that belonged to Destin, Florida. The sight was even more alluring than I had ever imagined.
The air was cold and windy. The beach was black, with small glossy pebbles, and shells. The shells on the beach where beautiful, shiny, and large bigger than my head. The water was gray with rocks that were big enough to climb on. The rocks held puddles of water with ocean life living in them. Small crabs where running over my feet as I sat on the rocks looking at the wave splash against it. A small trail going off of the beach, going to a
I stand on the edge looking forward the ocean seems endless. Some people believe at the horizon there is nothing just a place where the moon, star and the sun hide until they shall return. Scrunching my toes into the damp sand from the high tide. The sand is like rough sandpaper on my bare feet. Whispers of the warm sea breeze as it skips over the lulling waves. The breeze carries the salty aroma that swirls in my nose leaving a feeling of tranquility and safety. Listening to the thundering raspy echo’s of the waves as they churn crumbling into whitewash chaos deafening my ears to whatever else is around me. The squawking of the protectors of the ocean as they circle above, master of catching the upward sea breeze drafts. Watching the waves draw in a breath of air and sighing deeply gradually crawling along each grain of sand stretching itself out thin to reach my feet. The ocean breathes in again as the thin layer of water returns into the depths of the unknown.
