Personal Narrative: The Shortage Of NLA Members

What is your Minecraft username?: Profius ​ What game(s) do you actively play on?: Factions, Skyblock, Prison ​ How many hours would you be able to contribute to the position per day?: My schedule is tight, with school and sports, however I hope to contribute roughly three hours per day. Summer break is coming up, which normally would give me more time, but unfortunately I'll be working roughly five hours a day on weekdays during the summer. I have summer practice in the mornings, and I'll be working until the evenings. I'll be able to dedicate time to YayMC during weekday nights, or weekends when I'm not busy.

Throughout my life, I’ve always had an immense interest in helping others. Being involved in the National Charity League for 5 years has given me the opportunity to be involved with charities that I otherwise would’ve never known about. I’ve had the privilege to help with over b charities in and around my community throughout my years as an NCL member. By far my favorite would have to be Grace’s Feed Our Kids that I have volunteered at every summer since my start in NCL. Through this charity, we are able to provide lunches and fun games to underprivileged kids in Grapevine during the unbearably hot Texas summer days. Each day we serve different meals, either donated from local restaurants or homemade by my NCL class, and have a variety of things for the kids to do, like coloring, water guns,

National Honors Society is an amazing opportunity to be chosen for. By being accepted, it shows that the hard work that I have done in the classroom, and in the community have done well for not only the community but for myself as a person. Since I have started High-school, I have done many volunteer hours at my church. I have done many things such as help lead game-time for the little ones during a learning program called Awana. Awana is a program done by some churches to help raise children to love and serve God. I also help most Sundays in the sound room at church. Hours- EE agrees to work a 60-hour regular workweek (Monday—Friday) and is able to make up the time throughout the week, including Saturdays, however EE is able. Hours worked on Saturdays will be deducted from the following workweek if EE works over a 60-hour workweek.

In this article a young, certified nursing assistant failed to follow the guidelines in properly transporting the resident into her bed. Sadly, the resident ended up falling and receiving bruises, and black eyes due to the negligence of the nursing assistant. Rather than getting the resident help right away she asked a coworker to lie for her and say she had helped her, in order to keep her out of trouble. The co-worker didn’t follow through with the lie and the nursing assistant ended up losing her job and is facing charges of a class e felony, and a misdemeanor, also losing her certification. It was a Wednesday night and my mother had left for her job at Manor Care again. The house felt hollow, mimicking my state of mind. I was lonely and could not find anything to occupy my time. I did not have any siblings and I was left all by myself in our home. Before she left, my mother said to me, “Najee, this is only temporary until I become a Registered Nurse.” Although I was happy that my mother wanted to pursue her career dreams, for me, the nights by myself filled me with an unparalleled void. I had this lingering feeling that I was locked in a bubble, insulating me from the outside world. A once happy boy had turned into a sad child; I had lost my joie de vivre. I no longer had any positive emotions towards anyone or anything. As a result, my grades began to slip and my once stellar academic record turned into something that I knew was not reflective of the type of student I was.

Ask someone, and chances are, they’ll argue that health comes first. Doctors say it, parents repeat it, media promotes it, but in actuality, not many of those who suggest making health a priority can truly say that they’ve never jeopardized their health, whether that be through something as small as skimping on sleep or as big as stressing themselves out, for their job. While some might not consider it one, maintaining a certain BMI is another health benefit that goes neglected, especially in modeling, a career that carries the stigma of only consisting of starving girls who need to “eat a burger”.
