I am very limited in terms of sound right now (audacity + Helm Synth + Virtual Instruments + Voice) and I am trying my best to do the best sound I can and be experimental. I have no knowledge of stuff like Music Theory and I am horrendous at making beats, I have decided to step out of the foot tapping arena, and make strange sounds instead. I am also known as WhatIsSafety (WhatIsConfuse) on Writing.com, and try to be experimental there. I am planning on getting a synthesizer (right now Moog Mother 32) to give me a little more freedom :).
Over the past weeks I have been adding sounds to a moving image clip. Research of the science behind sound and of professional sound recordist would be key, anything from microphone techniques to personal safety would need to be taken into account on the recording side, whereas an understanding of the software and tools within it would be needed for the sequencing.
A producer that is known for experimenting with his music is Timbaland. Timbaland is known for working closely with artist such as Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliott and the late Aaliyah. His style of music as a producer was different and because of this he built a reputation for using non-conventional sounds within his beats. I picked the song from the Dr. Dolittle soundtrack “Are you that Somebody”. This song was composed by Timbaland and the late Stephen Garrett and performed by the late Aaliyah. Timbaland’s style incorporates a lot of bass drums, percussions and experimental sound effects.
For the first ten years of my life, I had a very normal childhood. I went to a private catholic school in a small town called Westwego. We were about twenty five minutes south of New Orleans. During the summers, friends and family would come over to our house and we would all swim and boil seafood. The summer of 2005 was no different; I was looking forward to entering 5th grade. Fast forward to one week before school is about to start when Hurricane Katrina formed in the Atlantic Ocean. Hurricanes were no strangers to us as we have been through several throughout the years. However, a few days later the storm is upgraded to a Category 3 and is predicted to hit New Orleans dead on. My parents felt it was time for us to leave and we traveled
As a portable electroacoustic studio that is able to perform in a digital manner most, if not all, of the processes that have been explored by composers and audio engineers since the appearance of electronic music, a laptop, the core of the live coding instrument, brings the history of electroacustic music to the fingertips of live coders. All this in a portable and sophisticated machine that has an increasingly enormous computation power. Live coders have put together a musical instrument that is powerful, flexible and highly customisable for the creation of electroacoustic and electronic
My day starts out like most of a dollar’s day starts. As I rest in my owners wallet. He grabs his wallet and slides it in his back right-hand pocket, with me included. This is how my journey begins.
I am Ken and I am 14 years old. I am really good at sports. When my family and I moved here in New York from Paris , it was really hard to adjust. I don’t know anyone in New York. However, when I first came here, I met some new friends in the first day of school. “Hey, are you new here?” asked stranger.
I woke up as usual a couple of years ago on September 20, I rubbed my tired eyes with my hands curled into fists. Uncovering my head from the large blanket I had, I was blinded by the brilliant light that hung above my head. A few moments later, after my eyes had adjusted, and my temporary blindness left me, I stumbled out of my bed and tripped to my closet, still dazed from just having woken up. Once I was ready I dazedly walked down the stairs, hanging onto the wooden rail tightly so I wouldn’t fall, though I almost fell more than a few times. My grandmother was sitting in her grey rocking chair, watching The walking dead, she heard me trip off the last step coming down the stairs and turned her head slightly to face me. She started to say
This is the story about me. It is a very weird story which, no, I didn’t even want to do. Why am I doing this? It’s because of this school thing I have to do. Well, let’s get this over with.
I would go into a desperate panic when all a sudden I could not hear. I would get this hollow sensation in the pit of my stomach, my throat would become dry as I gulped and tried to gather my senses. It was as if the volume button was turned down and all that was left to hear was a weird gurgling static sound. Reality hit me hard and fast, I had hearing loss. I thought that was the worst of it, a fluke thing, little did I know about the next ten weeks ahead of me.
It was a warm day in October… Thursday, October 8, 2015 to be exact. I woke up at precisely 6:45 am, just like every other school day. I went through my usual morning routine of eating breakfast and getting ready for the upcoming day. But today was different. It was football game-day.
It was finally the end of third period and everyone eagerly left class to go to lunch. I wasn't a big fan of lunch because I had no one to sit with witch made me stand out in a crowed making it easy for my tormentors to track me down. "Hey loser" someone snarls from behind me. I turn around to find myself facing Laurie, she's always picked in me for as long as I can remember no after awhile she someone found herself a boyfriend who started doing the same.
It's hard when people judge you when they don't even know the full story. When my mother past away this Christmas brake it effected me in more ways than I every realized it would. Her death allowed a variety of people such as; strangers, acquaintance, family and friends to view mw completely different from the girl they use to know for years or even the girl they knew last semester.
Hi, I’m Bella. I am the nicest out of my family—well, what is left of my family.
It was a beautiful spring day with the sun shining, birds chirping and the smell of flowers wafting through the open windows. How was I to know that this beautiful day was going to take a drastic turn? As my husband of ten years stepped out of the shower, doubt hung in the air like a curtain of smog making it difficult to breathe. It was at this moment that he clued me in on his secret of infidelity. As I struggled to understand, it felt like my world was collapsing around me like the buildings at a planned demolition.
