The first quarter has been a rocky road from the beginning, I have had many ups and many downs. I still hadn’t grasped what I needed in order to be successful. My original goal was to receive all “A’s” on my first report card. Of course that has proven to be a tad bit difficult because of the amount of work that I have to try to balance. That was not the problem it’s just the keeping up part that is what’s bugging a bit. Honestly, I just need to sit back, relax, and think about how I got here. There has to be some reason why I am here in the first place because I don’t know how I did it. I’m here now and there is nothing to stop me from achieving success, my motivation is my grandfather and I will in fact make him proud.
I can say that a couple of my pros for the first quarter has to be the part where I have at least one time gotten all of the appropriate amount of stamps because that there is a survival. Every single day when I come to your class I try to be the best that I can be. I may have some major fails but that’s only because math just doesn’t come easily to me. I’ve had that problem for years, now is just the time for me to overcome the amount of fear that I have.

I think that I was chosen to be here for a reason and that reason is the only reason why I am here today. This experience has already helped me tremendously with my fear of shyness. In Addition to that I have been able stretch my legs out a whole lot more meaning I know have the ability to see just how far I can push myself. That’s a great thing because before that I only had a little force pushing me forward. Now that I’m here I have more than a little because everyone here strives for greatness and that’s why I love it here although it can be challenging at times. I can still go through it and succeed with of course the pro of receiving an Associate’s Degree at the end of my high school
Growing up on the west side of Chicago, it was always about finessing to get where you wanted to go in life. You either play basketball, rap, or scam, and I don’t fit any of the mentioned criteria. I have only one way that will allow me to live the successful life I dream of, and that’s my education. I worked my hardest during elementary school just so I could be able to attend one of the top high schools in Chicago and only then was I accepted into Whitney M. Young Magnet High School, one of the top three high schools in the state.
I have made a schedule on what days I would be writing my papers for my other 3 classes. I also broke down the chapters I will be studying on different days for my algebra class. I don’t think it will be to hard because in high school I had to take 6 exams for all my classes. This year all I have to take is one physical in class exam. So this whole process will be different for me. To this day I still appreciate how prepared I came into college, in large parts thanks to my high school. If all goes well, I can finish my first semester with all A’s. Although the semester went by fast, there were days were it went by really slow. I’ve learned a lot in my first semester. Some things didn’t go as expected for me, but in the end it’s a lesson leaned. Lastly, next semester I will be having a new roommate. One of my roommates is transferring so I am assuming that they would place another girl in our room. I’m anxious to see who it is and how everything turns out. Hopefully everything works out because have good roommates is essential for a good college experience, in my opinion. Anyways these next 2 weeks I will be reviewing all my notes and writing all my papers. I know what the reward is for me if I everything goes well. I must finish the semester
When I started Unity High School I felt a little nervous because I didn't knew nobody in the school. In the begging of the first class I was quit and I didn´t talk to noone. I also didn't knew nobody in the class so I could tell them if they could help me on the problem that I need help. I was shy to talk to the teachers and and answer question or ask them for help when I needed help. During lunch time I just knew one person that came from my middle school. So I just hand out with him most the time. But, then weeks and months past I began to have more friends and I was not shy or nervous to ask for help in class. I wanted to join the soccer team of the school but I was to nervous to do it. But, now I know that I´m going to join the soccer team
Vividly, I can remember walking through the high school doors for the first time as a freshman with shaky legs and a nervous heartbeat. The school was a jungle of wide, shiny hallways filled with lumbering seniors who I thought were going to knock my books down on Freshman Friday. However, time has passed, and now I find myself to be the tall and “scary” senior. As I ponder about the last four years I have spent at Little Falls Community High School, I can not help but realize how much I have changed for the better. As I have matured, I have gleaned that beauty does not come through makeup and clothing brands, but rather through processing a good heart. Also, I have changed my career and college plans after high school, and I know that I will
“Fight, fight, fight,” was the chant that so often filled the halls of West Monroe High School. The teachers heard it every time but always hid in the teacher's lounge for fear of being attacked. This was the legacy of WMH, fights, student riots, and terrified teachers.
On August 10, 2016 I started my journey at Roanoke Valley Early College. My older brother and sister both attended RVEC and they would always try to tell me what to expect. The RVEC experience is an experience that had to experience myself. My first month at RVEC has really been a learning experience. I’ve had some good experience and only one bad experience, but I guess that’s just part being in early college.
While attending Judson High School in the beginning of my senior year, our advisory teacher Mrs. Evans
Being a student at Washington Community High School, I put forth my best effort to involve myself in academics, athletics, school clubs, and volunteer work. During my freshman year of high school, I committed myself towards music to a great extent. I performed in the marching band, the Jefferson and Wilmor Contemporary Music Project bands, the Symphonic Winds top concert band, and the pep band. In addition to music, I competed in several athletic activities, including cross country and track. Furthermore, I participated in a considerable amount of school-sponsored clubs such as the Student Council, the Freshman Executive Board, the Washington Leadership and Community Service Club, the Spanish Club, and the Mathletes Team. Throughout my
You would have never thought that life could fall apart and then come back together just in a blink of an eye, could you? You’re right, no one could ever thought of that, because it never happens. One day everything is fine and moving smoothly and then it just all suddenly explodes with everything being destroyed. It was all just like any other normal day, nothing exciting happens, nothing entirely bad happens, just completely still and normal. I, Natalie Price, am a senior at George Mason High School, North Carolina and I’m going to be graduating in 4 months. Being towards the end of my high school years, I’ve been a little stressed trying to rush and push my school work to get done, but with just one phone call my stress levels are going
Although I would not have considered myself a leader when I entered Arlington High School, I can safely say that the past four years have changed me into quite the opposite. As I gained confidence in my abilities to lead and make a difference throughout high school, I began to take more initiative of my impact on the community by running for leadership positions and tutoring.
I am currently a student at Fox Lane High School. Back when I was in elementary school and middle school I didn't care about whether the teachers were there or not. Even in 9th and 10th grade, I still didn't worry about it. But now that i'm in junior year of high school I need all of the teachers and staff to be there as much as possible, multiple times this year I have needed a teacher to review, go over tests or just to understand something more, but their class was cancelled or they couldn't stay after because of meetings. The meetings really throw off the kids because if there is a test friday and the kid wants to see the teacher to review, today the teacher might have a meeting during class so the kid can't learn anything bc there will
The summer of 2012 was the start of the downward spiral into my high school career. This ass hole guy decided to dump me and my dumb ass kept going after him when I know I shouldn’t have so I got hella drunk one night (as a 14 year old) and made this hilarious video with my bff that people hated apparently even though we looked hot. And so we got kicked out of cheer lol. Stupid mrs hatfield even had the vid on her phone like wtf lol. So yeah great start to high school.
On a sunny day at summit pointe elementary. It was the school picnic and I am with my family and friends.I got on the playground. I got on the swing with my friend Ella. So I asked if she could push me on the swing. “ yes,” Ella responded. Then when she started to push I trip and fell right on my arm. “It feels broken,”I carried. I was yelling and tears wore rolling down my face. Then I ran to my dad. “ what's wrong?” asked my dad. “ My arm hurt really bad,”I yelled. So went home. I could not move my arm. 2 days later. I was at the hospital. My heart was racing because I was so worried. Then I got a pink cast. I still have my cast. “ well are you ready to go home,” asked my dad. Yes but I am never touching a swing
I have been a teacher for 12 years. I graduated with a computer science degree from UC Santa Barbara. After graduation, I worked for Teach for America. I taught math at Pittsburg High School and I volunteered after school teaching programming. I transitioned to teaching GED math and high school independent studies at the adult ed in Mountain View. There, I worked with underserved students aiming to take the GED or needing credit recovery towards their high school diploma. During this phase, I worked towards developing a website to help teachers customize math work for their students, mathproblemgenerator.com. I then transitioned to Mountain View high school and helped founded their computer science program. We started with two AP Computer
My time in High School was made difficult from the constant strife and conflict between my parents. This made my home an unstable environment not fitted for learning or growing as an individual. As I got older and closer to graduating High-School, I began to find my own voice with the help of my mentor Rahn Fleming, which occurred at the end of my junior year. As a result, I came in control of my life and the constant feuding started to die down. No longer did I have to worry about the next scheduled court date, or the next time I would come home wondering what may await. I felt like I was always walking on broken glass for the longest of time throughout my life, until I began to voice myself and what I wanted. My parents came to realize this
