Why I Love The Matrix
There are several aspects of the Matrix that intrigue and interest me. I really enjoy the action sequences, especially the ones with Agent Smith and Neo. Apparently the main reason that these two characters fight so often and so intensely is because Agent Smith has been changed by his encounter with Neo. When Zion is threatened and Neo must visit a God-like man— -who reminds me of dad— in a room full of what look like Sony television monitors, viewers have a chance to understand the main motivation for Neo’s change to a person who can control the Matrix. I enjoy Sci-Fi because this genre challenges me to think about what life is like here on Earth and what it might be like in a parallel universe. Star Trek: The Next Generation
I am creating a set in a blackbox style theatre which requires a 16 foot square, 12 inch tall raised acting area which also contains a wall with a door on the upstate side. The first thing I must do is create the platform. The platform is 16 ft long and 16 feet wide and 12 inches tall. I will be using 3/4 inch plywood for the flooring of my platform and 2x4 for framing underneath and support legs. Once I use my table saw to cut out my 16'x16' piece of plywood I will also be cutting four 16'x12" pieces for the sides of the platform. Then using four 12 inch pieces of my 2x4 I will be attaching the four 16'x12" pieces together using my drill and screws. Once that is complete I will be taking my 16'x16' piece of platform and attaching it to the top of my now "frame". Once again going in with a drill in screws, mind you I also used wood glue during this
I always say to my family, “One day we will cross la frontera!” Living in Guadalajara, Mexico was not for the faint of heart. My family didn’t have much money and it was hard watching them sleeping on dirt floors. Mama, Roberto, and Francisco deserved better that what they had. I always imagined us crossing over to the beautiful United States. I knew one day we would cross that border so my family could have a better life.
Like everyone else, I was very nervous for my first simulation experience mostly because I wasn’t sure what to expect. Before the simulation started my partner agreed he would focus on administering medications and that I would focus on doing the assessment and helping with whatever else the patient needed at that time. After talking to the patient for a little, we discovered that he was having difficulty breathing. What we did first was elevated the head of the bed. He said he was still having trouble, so I ensured his nasal cannula was working properly and asked him to do some deep breathing exercises with me. That still wasn’t helping so I knew that albuterol, a fast-acting bronchodilator, would need to be administered before any other med.
My older brother used to tell me about all the fun simulations that he got to do when he was in challenge. I was very envious because I had never done a simulation. So, when my 3rd grade teacher announced that our class was going to take part in a simulation, I was very excited. We had started learning about how in the olden days, native Americans didn’t use dollar bills to pay for things. They traded things like food, weapons, and clothing for things they needed.
Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 at approximately 4:30 p.m., I Detective L. Donegain was contacted by Sergeant P. Orellano in-reference to a possible overdose at 415 Tradewinds Drive apartment B, Fayetteville, North Carolina 28304. I was advised Patrol Officers were on scene and standing by.
I always find myself staring blankly at my computer screen. The cursor flashes, mocking me, and the only word I have written is ‘the.’ I close my eyes, trying to think of all the things I did over the summer and in the past four years, and somehow, my mind only draws up the lyrics to Beyonce’s “Run the World.”
“Ah. The championship game,” I said to Grace, one of my best friends, during warm-ups for our biggest lacrosse game yet.
If I'm in...I'll be All-In. While I'll be the first of family and friends to attend the University of Colorado, Boulder and unsure of the challenges within the campus community, I know myself. I am at my best when I fully commit.
Every student is excited when school starts. New classes, new backpacks, new clothes, and seeing all your friends is a part of this excitement. The first few weeks are new; no homework, plenty of free time, etc. But after two or three months, school isn’t cool anymore. The homework piles up, the tests are being printed, but how much stress can you take before it’s too much?
Spring rolled around and it was finally time for the first t-ball game of the season. The dandelions were sprouting and the bees were buzzing in the outfield. All twelve players showed up but only half of the team was there to play ball. It was hard to expect six-year olds to have much of an attention span anyway. The ball was hit and began to roll for the outfield. At this very moment the team of twelve became divided. This division separated the team players from the self-servers. Little did I know that my first time on the field would mark the beginning of something so big and influential in my life.
Just like any other game day, I drive to school and make sure I have all my uniforms and gloves, and load up on to the bus with my 20 best friends and hit the road. The day was perfect, in a way that was cloudy and a little breeze coming in, the game was in Georgetown and we had cancelled school, which means the entire town was coming to watch us play the most important game of our lives. So of course I was a mess of emotions, but that thirty minute bus ride was the best one yet, we were all getting in our own little game time zones but at the same time enjoying the moment and realizing we had made it to State. We hadn’t realized that we were making Salado history for soccer, we were just playing the sport we loved with the people who loved
I met Coleton at the Samwell Restaurant and bar, a small, intimate restaurant a few blocks from the court house.
Sometimes when I am alone I wonder, “What if I was able to go back in time?” I think of the countless memories and the time periods that I would visit. From riding horses with Native Americans to my very first middle school band concert, it would all be an amazing experience. I could change the outcomes of things, make things better, or just go through the memories all over again.
Think of your favorite thing in the world to do. Something that defines you. Something that you can only experience from your eyes. For me it is soccer, and through that came a rite of passage that will be with me forever.
One day i was in class and I was doing my homework.Somebody was running really fast and the teacher yelled at him he got mad and threw a book.Suddenly I was knocked out…...I was on an island.
