----------------------------- Print journalism seemed dull and electronic journalism required either a desire for the limelight or technical aptitude behind the scenes both which I felt I lacked. I chose public relations with all the misconceptions that come with it. Through the years I have learnt quite a bit about what it is and what it is not. It is less fun than you would think and far less flamboyant.
In Iowa, the State Wrestling Tournament rules over all other state tournaments averaging about 16,000 spectators during the first place matches. But, it’s not the fans that make this tournament special. It’s the boys from all over our state who dream of one day being able to wrestle in Wells Fargo Arena while those 16,000 fans cheer their name.
When I was working at Target there were two mangers that I was to train and help if they needed it. The conflict was that they come in and changed everything in our stations. Which was uncomfortable due to that I had more experience and was working there longer.
First I just want to point out the obvious and say that you have an enormous heart. It must be so hard for you meeting these inmates and seeing their potential and most times seeing them revert to their old ways. I think that has to be the most painful part of it all. I know your supervisor once told you “our mission can’t be affected by individual successes or failures.”- Alice Layton. Which is what kept you going. It’s true, but it doesn’t take the sad disappointing feelings away. It’s amazing what you do, but it’s also very hard emotionally. For that I salute you. I love how invested you truly are. That fact that they feel comfortable enough to speak to you about the crimes they have committed is insane. That just goes to show how committed you are to helping them better themselves. In addition to
Do you ever remember being a kid and going to see Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny? That was my favorite time of the year, when Santa Claus came to town for me to tell him what I wanted for Christmas and have a picture taken with him. However, I was more skeptical about the Easter Bunny. To this day he still scares me a little bit, just the costume was a little bit much. I was still forced to sit on his lap and smile for the picture. My family took us every year to Pinnacle Bank in Imperial, Nebraska to go visit for these holidays. Pinnacle Bank has businesses set up throughout six states with more than 140 locations.
It has been an honor for me to participate in the event. Those 3 days have definitely been one of the best experiences I've had. It was amazing to be with such rounded scholars. Going into the camp, I was unsure what I wanted to do, but after listening to the different career paths at Goldman, I realized that GIR would be a be a division that I would like to do more research on. The Goldman Employees are some of the nicest people and smartest individuals I have met. I look forward to hopefully obtaining an internship in the summer and be around such great people. Goldman Sachs made me feel like family and it is a company where my career can grow. This summer I will be working for a landscaping company. Towards the end of July I will be traveling
Helping others can teach you many different things about yourself. If you ever helped anyone; you know the feeling of satisfaction that comes from helping others. This was not the case, when I brought a group of SWAP volunteers to work on Virginia Bank’s home.
The brand I selected to study for my semester-long project was the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House provides families of children staying in the hospital a “home away from home.” The Ronald McDonald House was created in 1988 and has helped over 10,000 families. Since opening their doors,
With the vast availability of the internet today, people are able to acquire knowledge considerably quicker than ever before. As I was browsing YouTube at the beginning of the summer in 2016, an ad started playing that took me by surprise. It was a man sitting in a tropical paradise with his laptop saying how he had made millions of dollars traveling around the world trading stocks. He began to explain that all it took was extreme determination and dedication to the vision he had. I was drawn to the video for the reason that I saw many parts of myself in this man. The absurd thing was that he was offering to teach what he had learned so that others would not have to make the same mistakes he had. If I was ever in a similar position to teach someone from my mistakes, I would every time. He is a stock trader who recognized the risks involved, but knew how to minimize them by making a plan. One of the most important lessons he has taught me is, in order to become successful at any task, it takes the will to persevere and an unwavering
In 2014, I worked part time as a Copy and Print Center Expert at Staples where I established positive relationships with customers, specifically Small Business owners. As the only person during the evening shift it was necessary that I managed multiple priorities, such as schedule the printing jobs, help walk-in
On Tuesday 18th, 2017 I interviewed Elizabeth Surprenant the systems Administrator for B. F. Saul Company & Affiliates (Real State Company). Before I decided to interview her, I first targeted the type of occupation that I want to know more information. Economics my targeted major. Due to my interest in economics, I decided to interview Ms. Surprenant, who has a bachelor degree in Accounting and she doubled major in economics. There were 2 degrees of separation between this Ms. Surprenant and me. I contacted her via email and set up a meeting to discuss some details about her occupation.
In the beginning, I didn't know much about USD, however over last summer, I took a tour at USD. While the campus is very beautiful, by meeting the tour guide and a couple of students, I was able to see how happy they were. I saw that they weren't just saying things to make USD look good, but they were talking about their personal experiences and how excited they were to have the opportunity to attend USD.
Career Aspiration Throughout my life I have always strived to do my best and achieve the goals I set out to do, whether it be performing in a school play or hiking 54 kilometres in one day, I have always strived to be my best. My next big goal is to become an aspiring public relations manager that is respected and trusted within a medium sized not-for-profit agency or organisation. The organisation I hope to work for will be enthusiastic, organised, respectful of clients and colleagues, treat them with value, and have the best interest of the client and the stakeholders involved.
I have been working at Freedom mortgage since last four months as a contractor. I was hired by Technology services LLC to work on Freedom mortgage as a contract to hire position. In my four months I have completed several projects successfully and established outstanding relationship with my colleagues
I would most definitely consider a career in public relations. This is an ever-growing field and the need for public relations will never go away. I think what attracts me the most to this profession is the pace at which it moves at and the thought behind the processes. I don’t think there is just one specific aspect of its operation that interest me more than others, I just think it’s the field and the opportunities in general. I think what I think I would enjoy more than another aspect would be protecting, enhancing/building reputations of a company or business to the public. I think every company needs a public relations side if anything were to happen to their image. Another thing is working with those in the public eye—every celebrity,
