After concluding nearly four years working for the Commonwealth Bank in various branches I decided to take a new direction in my life. I had a wedding to organize, my own in my mother’s country of origin, in the ‘Mecca’ of classy weddings, Las Vegas. After a period of travelling as a newlywed I decided that being the sole member of my immediate family and my maternal extended family without a university degree was a personal dereliction. I decided to take up the challenge and enter formal tertiary education at RMIT, my father’s alma mater where he had earned his MBA. Public Relations was the discipline that appealed to me most for a number of reasons. Firstly because of the experience I gained working for the CBA in relation to customer, or
When I think about my future in public relations, I feel the non-profit sector is where I see myself. I can see myself working in non-profit public relations because it will force me to wear several different hats. I like the idea of doing different things each day. I am particularly drawn to the Ronald McDonald House for several different
In Iowa, the State Wrestling Tournament rules over all other state tournaments averaging about 16,000 spectators during the first place matches. But, it’s not the fans that make this tournament special. It’s the boys from all over our state who dream of one day being able to wrestle in Wells Fargo Arena while those 16,000 fans cheer their name.
When I was working at Target there were two mangers that I was to train and help if they needed it. The conflict was that they come in and changed everything in our stations. Which was uncomfortable due to that I had more experience and was working there longer. Nothing work well within the ream after that point.
Do you ever remember being a kid and going to see Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny? That was my favorite time of the year, when Santa Claus came to town for me to tell him what I wanted for Christmas and have a picture taken with him. However, I was more skeptical about the Easter Bunny. To this day he still scares me a little bit, just the costume was a little bit much. I was still forced to sit on his lap and smile for the picture. My family took us every year to Pinnacle Bank in Imperial, Nebraska to go visit for these holidays. Pinnacle Bank has businesses set up throughout six states with more than 140 locations.
So I would like to point out I do work for a few different businesses in Southern Maine, but my job at the Cross Insurance Arena is slightly different. We are under new management which is overseen by Comcast Spectator which runs multiple venues throughout the country. And in the case of Cross Insurance Arena full time employees are told that, “The Cross Insurance Arena can’t afford employee parking,” therefore there’s always been a struggle to find a parking let alone pay for it.
I had the chance to attend the final legislative breakfast of the year sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce on April 17th. When I first walked into the room I wasn’t sure where I was supposed to sit or if there was something I had to do before I sat down. Luckily, one of the ladies from the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce noticed I was a little lost, so she asked me if I was a student and then she showed me where my seat was, right in front of the representatives’ tables and the podium. More people started to show up and eventually, Representative Curt Hanson, Senator Mark Chelgren, and Representative David Heaton arrived.
It has been an honor for me to participate in the event. Those 3 days have definitely been one of the best experiences I've had. It was amazing to be with such rounded scholars. Going into the camp, I was unsure what I wanted to do, but after listening to the different career paths at Goldman, I realized that GIR would be a be a division that I would like to do more research on. The Goldman Employees are some of the nicest people and smartest individuals I have met. I look forward to hopefully obtaining an internship in the summer and be around such great people. Goldman Sachs made me feel like family and it is a company where my career can grow. This summer I will be working for a landscaping company. Towards the end of July I will be traveling
In 2014, I worked part time as a Copy and Print Center Expert at Staples where I established positive relationships with customers, specifically Small Business owners. As the only person during the evening shift it was necessary that I managed multiple priorities, such as schedule the printing jobs, help walk-in customers and deliver online orders, with finesse and a positive, upbeat manner to foster future business with the customer.
Helping others can teach you many different things about yourself. If you ever helped anyone; you know the feeling of satisfaction that comes from helping others. This was not the case, when I brought a group of SWAP volunteers to work on Virginia Bank’s home.
The California Gold Rush of 1849 is one of the most interesting and exiting events of the United States. From the wild stories of men striking it big, to the heart wrenching tales of people losing everything, these are what make it so alluring. There are many aspects of the California Gold Rush; effects on California; individual stories of struggle; and effects on the United States as a young country looking for stability.
In the beginning, I didn't know much about USD, however over last summer, I took a tour at USD. While the campus is very beautiful, by meeting the tour guide and a couple of students, I was able to see how happy they were. I saw that they weren't just saying things to make USD look good, but they were talking about their personal experiences and how excited they were to have the opportunity to attend USD.
What I wanted on summer vacation made me end with a heavy debt on my shoulders. The debt that I haven?t paid off yet to my dad. Buying the PC was a good idea, but I messed it up myself. Last school holiday I had the bright idea to buy a PC, PCs are strong, easy to use, and reliable. I am a guy who wants to experience all fields of gaming, when some people like calm and relaxing games. Others might like driving, sports, strategy games, or some action. For me, I try all types of games, so to do that I have to get myself a PC, and what?s cheaper than building one yourself (at least what it?s normally like).
During the early stages of our adulthood, we often hear about Medicare and Social Security, but sometimes it doesn 't resonate how important those factors play in our future. Since 1966, Medicare has been providing health insurance to both the old and young while taking money from those who are able to work and provide for themselves. Meanwhile, Social Security is in charge of giving money to those who are old, disabled, widowed, and have low income through taxing citizens. Both of these federal government run programs play a key role in redistributing wealth throughout the country. They are put in place to assure citizens, 65 and older, with disabilities, and fall under the bottom tier of the class system, are cared for and given
First I just want to point out the obvious and say that you have an enormous heart. It must be so hard for you meeting these inmates and seeing their potential and most times seeing them revert to their old ways. I think that has to be the most painful part of it all. I know your supervisor once told you “our mission can’t be affected by individual successes or failures.”- Alice Layton. Which is what kept you going. It’s true, but it doesn’t take the sad disappointing feelings away. It’s amazing what you do, but it’s also very hard emotionally. For that I salute you. I love how invested you truly are. That fact that they feel comfortable enough to speak to you about the crimes they have committed is insane. That just goes to show how committed you are to helping them better themselves. In addition to
Before the discussion begins on the creation of the firearm, its evolution and its overall contribution to war and combat, we must acknowledge its very origins; gunpowder. The origins of gunpowder trace back to the nation of China, it “ironically was created in the quest for immortality/around A.D. 850” (Whipps, “How Gunpowder Changed the World”). Though it was intended for an alternative purpose, this newfound explosive powder was soon incorporated into China 's weaponry and also became the leading factor in how weapons came to be created. To give insight on the composition of gunpowder, also known as black powder, this powdered substance is composed of three substances, charcoal, sulfur and saltpeter. The charcoal that’s in gunpowder is a “fuel” which means that its sole purpose is to be burned (Helmenstine,”Gunpowder Facts and History”). But the burning of charcoal itself obviously isn’t enough to produce that explosive property that gunpowder is known to have, when burning charcoal “the reaction would be slow, like a wood fire” (Helmenstine, “Gunpowder Facts and History”). Saltpeter, also known as “potassium nitrate” is the oxidizing agent that exists in gunpowder. An oxidizing agent in terms of combustible substances is simply a chemical compound that produces “extra oxygen” in order to strengthen/increase the rate at which the overall substance burns (Helmenstine, “Gunpowder Facts and History”). In the case of gunpowder, saltpeter (potassium nitrate) feeds oxygen to
