Abortion: the controversy-packed topic that can provoke the most vicious altercations between the two opposing sides. The views of abortion divide into two main categories: pro-choice and pro-life. These groups can go at eachother’s throats with no end, constantly throwing new arguments at each other. Many people feel very strongly one way on the topic, and are some individuals too stubborn to consider anything other opinion. The two opposite views seem to boil down to many as either the undeveloped fetus is innocent or the mother has the right to chose what to do with her own body.
A whopping fifty seven million babies are aborted each year. Fifty seven million valuable lives. The definition of abortion is the loss of a fetus before it is able to live outside of the womb. I am Pro-Life. All fetuses have the right to life and it should not be taken from them. In contrast, people who are Pro-Choice may beg to differ.
24 percent of women having abortions are unmarried teenagers. Pregnancy can be a scary and extremely stressful time in a women?s life. To force a woman who is not ready for a child to go through with the birth is not the answer. Stress is not good for the fetus at all, and could lead to complications in the pregnancy, or even a miscarriage. People also seem to forget about a women?s mental health in these situations. A woman could be haunted for her lifetime of giving birth to an unborn child.
A third reason might be that the mother might already have as many kids as she wants, but she does not want a time in her life where she can not help all them and have to give them to social service to put up for adoption so she believes it would be better not to have the child. Wanting to keep a baby alive that has so many problems that it would have a completely painful life an uncomfortable life is a bad choice.
Abortion can cause people to be careless with the means of contraception. Lack of information or deliberately, too many people may think this is a trivial solution that does not involve risk.
Out of all modern social controversies, perhaps the most heated controversy is that of abortion. In today’s society you are either a Pro-life or a Pro-choice, there is not a middle ground. Pro-life are individuals who believe abortion is immoral and should be stop for the wellbeing of women and unborn babies. In contrast, the Pro-choice individuals do not necessarily promote abortion, they just believe women should be the ones to make decisions over their bodies and health. Although the two main sides of the abortion debate have concerns for human life, pro-life activists worries more about the fetus and morals, a clear difference from the pro-choice that worries more for the women and their rights. Based on the points I explored, the pro-choice arguments are stronger than pro-life arguments. Most of both groups arguments comes from peer-reviewed researches from well-known sources to support each individual concept. Effects on women,socio-politics, and fetus are some of the main point of conflicts between the pro-life and pro-choice advocates.
Imagine a syndrome that can cause you, or a woman you know, to be infertile, depressed, anxious, obese, or hirsute, along with many others. Polycystic ovary syndrome can cause all of these issues in a woman who is affected by the condition. If it is not treated properly or on time, it could lead to other serious medical issues that could even be life threatening. Polycystic ovary syndrome, otherwise known as PCOS, is not a commonly known syndrome and many women affected by it are not diagnosed or treated for it. PCOS is a major medical problem that is affecting five to ten percent of the female population in the U.S. and many more across the globe (American Diabetes Association, 2014). This syndrome must become better known in the near future so that women with PCOS can take better control and care of their own body.
First up for discussion is the root of a problem is a feminist. A feminist is the Pro-choice in abortions, meaning that one believes that is the woman’s choice and right to have. Also, a feminist is someone who believes that a woman should not mess up her body and should be worrying about her health. Pro-choice believes that “a fetus does not have any right to life until twenty-four weeks” (Gupta, 2014). For example, someone that the writer know has had four abortions and told her that she was not able to have another child because of having so many procedures done.
Women choose to have abortion for a lot of reasons some may believe that they are too young and do not have a lot of responsibility of parenting. They may not be in a relationship and cannot handle being a single mum. They may not be able to afford to have a child, they also may not want their life goals to be interrupted (hodesnauser,2011).
The topic of abortion is a highly controversial discussion that has been prominent in the debates of morals and politics for decades. Most people agree that on the topic of abortion, it is like a black and white fallacy, which is an issue that only has two options. For example, a black and white and fallacy is that a person can either be a Republican or Democrat, there is no other option. In the discussion of abortion, the black and white fallacy is either pro-choice or pro-life. Despite this commonly believed two-sided argument, there is a third choice, pro-rights. Pro-rights argument is similar to that of pro-choice. Pro-rights defend the validity of abortion, by arguing abortion is within the natural, given rights of a woman; It is a woman’s right to be able to choose. This perspective focuses on the right of a women to her own body, her right of prosperity and happiness, and the lack of rights the fetus possesses.
Polycystic ovary syndrome is "the perfect hormonal storm." (PCOS,2016) What is PCOS? PCOS is commonly known as polycystic ovary syndrome, this is a health problem that can affect many things for women. Polycystic means cysts and can often cause clusters of small, pearl sized cysts in the ovaries. The cysts are fluid filled and contain immature eggs. Polycystic ovary syndrome is the most common hormonal disorder among women of reproductive age. Infertility is one of the most common symptoms along with the menstrual cycle, hormones, heart and of course the blood vessels. “How many women have PCOS? 1 in 10 and 1 in 20 women of childbearing age have PCOS. As many as 5 million women
Abortion is defined as the removal of a fetus or embryo sooner than it being able to survive outside of the uterus, ultimately, ending a pregnancy. An abortion can occur several different ways, such as,
Abortion is a preparation for the termination of a pregnancy, which known since ancient times. There have been various methods used to perform an abortion of pregnancy, including the administration of abortifacient herbs, the use of sharpened implements, the application of abdominal pressure, and other techniques. Abortion was meant to control traditional child-bearing role.
Having a pro-choice viewpoint is not something that a person chooses overnight. I went through seven years of sexual education before I really understood abortion and could make an educated decision on my choice of sides. I have gone from being totally against the abortion procedure, to fully accepting it. I believe that before you can really say that you do not believe in abortion you have to come up against it in your own life. I know several women who have had abortions, not so they could party or have fun, but so they wouldn't ruin their entire lives because of a mistake. They weren't particularly overjoyed about it - no one is - and all are good, decent people
Most little girls at one point in their lives dream of the white picket fenced home, with the perfect husband, kids and pet running around. Even the childhood chant of “first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in the baby carriage” comes to mind. Once into their teenage years, and puberty begins, they get a little acne on their face, start to produce breasts, gain a little weight, and they begin menstruating. But what happens if Mother Nature doesn’t finish the job? And they don’t get your period? Perhaps they wait it out a while, and simple brush it off as they are a “late bloomer.” Some may decide after some time that they’ve waited long enough, that it isn’t normal to not have a period, and visit your doctor. She does some testing and concludes that you suffer from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). She explains that the acne on their face and spare tire around their stomach may not be from puberty, but from this disease. Even though in their adolescent years they may not have worried about starting their own family, but they can’t help but wonder about down the road. Now, the thoughts of having a hard time conceiving a baby or not being able to at all, runs through their head. Unfortunately finding out that they not only have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), but that they may not be as capable of conceiving children as easy as someone without PCOS, may cause emotional distress on women. In fact, many women who have been diagnosed with PCOS
