High school plays a pivotal role in a student's life, helping to decide what type of person they want to become. The best high schools go one step further, giving students the skills and tools needed to move on to college and realize their passions and dreams. My personal Skutt Catholic experience fully prepared me for college and beyond with a top-notch education that gives every student the necessary resources to begin a life of empowering others, promoting justice, and initiating change. It has represented the "Legend of the Skyhawk" and formed me into the young man I am today through abundant opportunities in scholarship, friendship, and leadership. Skutt Catholic places an appropriately large emphasis on academic achievement. From the
From what I have been through, my current high school experience has not been meeting my expectations. After speaking with friends and parents, I believe that Archbishop Mitty High School can provide the experience that I am seeking. One aspect I am looking for is a larger campus, school community and a safer environment. I feel that the size and location of Archbishop Mitty will help enhance my learning experience. Something else I am looking for in my new high school experience is more school spirit and camaraderie. I have attended many sports events at Archbishop Mitty and I have thoroughly enjoyed the enthusiasm and spirit of the environment. One last reason is that I am looking for a school that can provide a larger class selection with

Over my high school years at Waukesha North, I have had a very diverse and fun experience. From my sophomore year when i started working and earning my own money to my freshman year when i joined marching band. High school has taught me a lot about myself and others, and i only plan to further the knowledge through my college years.
High school is an important time for developing a sense of who you are as a person. Each kid who starts out high school will usually asks themselves what they are there to accomplish. For the most part, many set personal goals for themselves and strive to achieve above and beyond. However, some are just there for the experience and to see where it takes them. It’s apparent that some kids have an easier time and don’t have to struggle with their high school career. For example, some of the students have followed strong academic paths that have prepared them for this time in their lives, where as others have struggled with educational influences and feel unprepared or lost. Swerdlow mentions that the students, who attend J.E.B. Stuart, are given many chances to improve their educational foundation in order to
Catholic social teaching (CST) or thought are belief or set of belief that is taught or developed by a catholic church or religious organisations (Australian Catholic Social Justice Council, 2016). It expresses human dignity as a foundation for the common good in our society to flourish together as one (Australian Catholic Social Justice Council, 2016). Therefore, this wiki page will explain and discuss each of nine CST.
After fifth grade, my parents decided it was time to turn my world upside down. They scrutinized over: private schools, public schools, and even homeschooling me. Finally, after eight months searching for the perfect fit for my siblings and I, they selected Our Lady of Grace Catholic School. To this day I still remember my mother saying “You get to wear a uniform”, like that is what a twelve year old boy wants to hear, seriously! Anyway, they decided upon Our Lady of Grace Catholic School because they felt it had the best
Attending my Catholic school is a gift as well as a privilege and I have gratitude for the opportunity. Because I see my school as a gift, I have academic goals and put 100% effort into them. An academic goal that I have is to work hard for superior grades while continuing to become proficient with educational skills such as writing, reading, oral and written communication, science, and mathematics. Additionally, I plan to continue to get to know myself and to learn about possible careers that might interest me. A career that I am currently interested in involves the fields of dentistry and surgery. Plus at my school, we learn about personal responsibility and personal initiative in our morals and behaviors. Another goal is that I want to
Along with discrimination in the schools, it is unjust that the Ontario Government provides 100% funding for Catholic Schools but not for any other faith. First and Foremost, the funding of Catholic schools infringes on the freedom of religion of all taxpayers who are not Catholic. According to a 2011 census by Statistics Canada, 68.6% of Canadians are not Catholic. With an overwhelming majority of the country not practicing the catholic faith, it does not make sense that the bulk of the population would have to contribute to the cost of education for a religion they do not believe in and cannot even send their own children to. It is damaging that the Province of Ontario is not only giving one religion their own education system, but making
The education of children has existed since the beginning of time as parents have taught and molded their children into the young adults they desired them to be. Initial training of children was not in a formal setting, although history would see numerous settings, purposes, and methodological changes. Philosophies of education have also changed through the years as various voices have seemed to grasp the purpose of educating the next generation, thus laying out objectives to reach those goals of teaching children.
Entering high school is the beginning of a whole new learning experience. Transitioning from middle school, high school presents more classes, students, and a bigger campus. It brings new expectations and responsibilities to each of us. High school also offers fresh chances to make new friends, try new sports and activities, and really explore who we are as individuals. The goal is to maintain good grades, score high on the SAT test, and keep a positive attitude so colleges and universities will accept you. Of course it's not as easy at sounds, but it's achievable. It requires a lot of work and dedication to every subject. Some students breeze their way through while others live in misery trying to pass their
Being the oldest of four kids that have been raised in Catholic schools, I know how stressful finance is to go to a private school. Over the years, I've realized how grateful I am to be raised in these religious schools. Religion has always had a big impact on my life. I'm grateful to experience Montini's unique faculty, student body, and ambience. Leaving most of my friends when I graduated from St. Pius X School in 2013, I was devastated. I thought that it would be hard to make new friends. Montini has given me amazing opportunities to make new friends and make the most of my high school experience. Receiving this scholarship grant, makes a huge difference. Even though, it doesn't cover my whole tuition, it still makes a big contrast. It's
The two most prominent things in my life are Catholicism and my education. I am a practicing Catholic and my faith has driven me to become more assistive towards others. I try to help those in need at any opportunity. I also seek to further my education in the field I a most interested in: engineering. I have started to prepare for this career by taking up hobbies that utilize engineering. My goal as a professional engineer is to bring my Catholic standards into my work and focus on creating better ways to help people and make their life less problematic.
Education: noun the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university
The world has more than one billion Catholics and with the ever growing population, it will only get larger in number. To be a Catholic means to have complete faith in God and his divine grace. Having God's divine grace means to obey it and keep it holy as it was created by God and given to his people. The religion itself is based on this and the people take it very seriously. Catholics believe that all people are of good nature but when one commits a sin it not only hurts that one person but the people and the Church.
Yet, the education does not stop at middle school, for high school really puts all the basic skills from elementary and middle school to work as the assignments and the exams become more challenging. We do not only learn about reading, writing, history, and math, we learn about the people around us as we associate with different personalities, and as we see what we have grown up to be and what we want to be later in life. Accordingly, the high school years are a time when teachers emphasize the importance of graduating and attending college in order to have a “succesful future.”
