I found the job of a Public Health Administrator to be the most fascinating. I think this way because they get to go around the community and prevent diseases and they also get to promote health. I think this would be a great job because in the winter people get sick a lot and this job would help the community a lot. I would also love to be a Public Health Administrator because also try to improve the welfare of the community. They also lead and manage healthcare systems and they direct organizations. I think this would be a fascinating job because about 200,000 Americans get hospitalized each year, and if we had more public health administrators, it would help the community a lot. Also there are about 3,000-49,000 deaths each year from flu-related
A career in healthcare has always been an interest of mine. Making a difference is someone?s health was a very important aspect of my career choice. Dental Hygiene has been top of the list since I was a younger child. I was one of those children who loved going to the dentist. I was always amazed by what was going on in the dentist office whether it be the dentist, dental hygienist, or dental assistant. Becoming a young adult and noticing the appearance of others, the smile was and still is the first thing I notice on another individual. Everyone does not have the beautiful smile that society expects; so being the one to improve that and make a difference I feel is an awesome career choice.
As a physician assistant one is able to help people every day and get paid to do it. That is very cool that you can have the opportunity to save lives and do what you love while getting paid a very nice salary. I love working with either younger children or older adults. I truly enjoy helping and making people happy. The other perk of helping different people daily is that your brain stays very sharp and is forced to do a lot of work. Instead of doing one task mindlessly over and over
Public Health is an interesting topic. Many people may not understand the purpose of Public health, it is a fairly new field although it has been around since the 1800’s. Before being introduced to the the field, I was clueless and never knew such a subject existed. Going into college with dubious decisions on my major within the pre-med program I knew I wanted to help people and the society, but was unsure what to major in.
Recently I have decided to change my career choice from being a nurse to being a healthcare administrator. Life has a way of showing you what it thinks is best for you. I had to find out a hard way that nursing really wasn’t what I was supposed to do for the rest of my life. Once I found this out I had to take a step back and look at what I wanted to do, something that I would love to do for the rest of my life. After taking some time and looking around at my options I finally decided on Healthcare Administration. I feel that I would be good at this job and it is something that I can see myself doing for the rest of my life.
I love to help others and working in the healthcare industry will insure that I will be able to do help others as a career. My experience volunteering
Working to find creative, fun , and effective ways to empower people to manage their health is a passion for me, and one that I intend to pursue as I continue my education to become a Family Nurse
My biggest interest in this career is being able to work with animals. I will get to care for sick and injured animals and help them get better. I love being around animals and that is why I think this career is perfect for me.
My ideal job in the healthcare industry would be a healthcare /Facility Administrator in a small clinic. There is one clinic that I am trying me hardest to work for is DaVita Healthcare Partners. They are a well-known Dialysis clinic companies today. A career in this company or any small personal clinic would a great deal of job satisfaction, because of the close and personal attention I can give to patients. I want to work for a company that is trying to make a difference in people lives. As a healthcare administrator you are the person that manages the direct outcomes of the clinic, and get to make discussion that can affect people lives.
My interest in Health Sciences started in 2013, my freshman year at Health Sciences High and Middle College (HSHMC). Prior to high school, I wasn’t sure what my passion is life was and every time someone would ask “What do you want to do when you grow up?” it was followed with a bow of the head and a shoulder shrug. As I moved into high school, I was offered an internship at SHARP Memorial Hospital and I decided that if I wanted to go into healthcare I would only know if I tried. My second internship at SHARP Mary Birch really started my love for health care and was the spark of a future career that I would make me smile when answering the aforementioned question. Health Occupations Students of America: Future Health Professionals has helped me work toward my goal in more ways than one.
Through experiences in my life, I have learned that I can make a real difference in the lives of other people. As a healthcare professional, I will be able to touch human lives in such a close and intimate way, that no other career can offer. I will be able to help a cancer patient to fight for their life or put a bandage on a child’s hand. I like to overcome challenges, and I want to gain more knowledge about life, the human body, and diseases. I seek a career where my compassionate and caring personality together with my thirst for knowledge will be well satisfied.
I am born and raised in Haiti. I came to the United State in 1996 and became a caregiver in 2001. I became a caregiver because I love people and use what I have to help or assist people
First, let me tell you a little about myself and my family, I am a wife of 19 years, and mother of five children, two adult children who have moved out of our home, and three very active teenagers still living at home. We also are privileged to have a 3 year old grandson. My husband recently left his full time job to pursue his passion for woodworking and focus on his growing home based business. We travel on weekends selling our wares at craft shows. We have had our ups and downs like any family, but we know God will see us through whatever comes our way. Two years a go, I left a job and position that I was unhappy in to start a new career at a health care facility. At first, I was scared as I had never dealt with insurances and HIPAA laws
The experience I had with my second field placement was the most satisfying by far. Most of my time was spent with patients, which I loved so very much. It was satisfying to see that my volunteer time was effectively being utilized and I could help patients in their time of need. Like I’ve mentioned before, the area where I worked was post-op so all of the patients had undercome surgeries and weren’t in the best shape. They appreciated my helping hand and it was satisfying for me to be able to assist them in their stage of vulnerability.
Sometimes I ask myself, what if society was made in a way where individuals lived healthier lives, were able to exercise preventive medicine, and take safety measures against illnesses? Poverty and an ineffectual health care system are some of the things that most Americans will rarely experience. I was born in America but my parents were born in Ghana before they had me and moved to America. Suffering and malnutrition are very common in Ghana. My degree choice has been shaped by events I’ve been caught up in researching of what goes on in Ghana like, high rates of malaria, parasitic diseases, irregular and unpredictable electric power outages, and much more. This just shows the infrastructure of Ghana and its fragile economy and why I
After finishing my Undergraduate, I have seen it wise to purse masters in public health, an area that I have much interest in. Having pursed a Bachelor of Science, Biological Sciences, minor in psychology, expanding my knowledge in the field of public health has been my next option. The vast knowledge that I have gained learning and working can help me while pursuing this program. Given the chance I would be able to fulfill my career goals.
