Graduation Letter I should graduate because I have been going to school for 12 years now. I think that one test that I have failed should keep me from graduating. I should also graduate because I want to make my mom proud because I would be the third person in my family to graduate. I also want to set an example for my younger siblings. And show them that can graduate and make our mom proud. My attendance during this school year has been fairly good. But third and fourth quarter I have been missing days because of family business. I miss afternoon classes to take my older brother to his Drug Classes so he can better himself, I tell him that I am missing classes but he has no other person to take him to his classes. I will make arrangements

I have known Natalie Schieuer for almost half a year now, and in that time I have been incredibly pleased to meet such an amazing, talented, and brilliant young lady. I was Natalie’s counselor this summer at Nebraska Girls State. Girls State is a week-long camp, aimed towards education of state and local government. 400 of Nebraska’s top emerging high school juniors are chosen to attend this program, and within these numbers, Natalie still managed to shine through with her accomplishments and wit.

Next, I will gather together my beliefs on student affairs, and provide a context for my professional practice. Lastly, I will explain how I will contribute to the profession. My aspiration to become a student affairs professional derives from the challenges I experienced as an Asian American, first generation, and low-socioeconomic status.
Waking up to the smell of a traditional Dominican breakfast every day has made me appreciate where my family comes from and how hard my mother has worked to keep a roof over my head. My mother came from the Dominican Republic looking for a new beginning with only a high school degree. Through her struggles to build a better life for all of us, I have gained a deep appreciation for hard work and dedication. All her sacrifices are paying off as my sister is the first generation to graduate and I plan to follow her footsteps and achieve even more. Through my own experiences, I have learned the significance of “If you work hard enough and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to your desires”

The vision that I have for my future and career is a positive one. I started my MBA program at GCU with a positive attitude, determination to stay in the program and complete it successfully. My desire and vision after I complete my program is to take up a new challenge of starting my own small business in the area of non-medical Care Giving Services. This business will give me a great deal of opportunities to utilize all that I’ve learnt throughout my program. Through the small business that I’m looking to set up, I will have the opportunity to offer quality Care Giving Services to clients who have disabilities of one form or another. Not all clients get the quality care that they deserve in the care giving business, so I will focus on rendering loving and compassionate care that will make life easier for our clients. The services rendered and our core values will be in the best interest of the clients.
One of my academic goals is to get the best education possible at Allan Hancock College before I transfer. I will accomplish this by always paying attention to all my teachers and do all my work and most importantly make school my number one priority. Another academic goal that I have is to transfer to Cal Poly or Long Beach and obtain my Master’s degree in education. I also want to graduate with honor and with a 3.5 GPA or above. I decided that I wanted to be a teacher because I like helping people out and also I enjoy working with kids. I selected these goals because my economic background is not the great, most of the money that my family makes goes to the rent and daily expenses. We live in a small apartment and we are a family of five; we don’t usually go out and eat at restaurants only in special occasions.
