am seeking a Humanities and Social Sciences position for 2018 in a school which has a focus on collaboration so that I can share and learn from other teachers to keep developing as a teacher.
At present I am teaching Year 11 General Careers and Enterprise, Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 Humanities and Social sciences at Dalyellup College. I have previously held teaching positions at Jurien Bay District High School and the Schools of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) teaching a range of classes including lower school Humanities, English, Health, as well as, ATAR Modern History. These teaching roles have provided me with opportunities to work with students across a range of year levels and contexts, as well as experience in both planning

Which is why I decided to run the National History Challenge with the SIDE Year 9. I decided not to make the challenge compulsory instead I focused on developing interest in the extra-curriculum activity amongst the Year 9 cohort. Around half of the Year 9s I taught at SIDE were 'referral' students; referral students come from a wide range of backgrounds and have a variety of physical, social and cognitive disabilities. I really enjoyed the challenges of working with most of these students, however, when a few of my referral students volunteered for the National History Challenge I was nervous, as these were not students whom I would have selected for additional extra-curriculum work. Most of these students had high levels of anxiety and stress, which is why they were in the referral program, consequently I had some concerns about the pressure the challenge might have placed on them. I worked hard with these students, offering small group SABA classes to allow them to collaborate, sharing their ideas and providing each other with constructive feedback. I also scheduled fortnightly individual check in meetings where we discussed their progress and developed individual work completion plans. Their interest and enthusiasm for their selected topics really reinforced how important it is to set high expectations for all students regardless of circumstances.

One of the greatest injustices in modern America revolves around the difference in the quality of education students from different classes receive. Children are held back from doing their best in school for simple reasons such as poverty, lack of parental support, teachers who cannot give them individual attention, learning disabilities, undiagnosed mental health disorders, poor health, developmental problems, and so on. It is my personal belief that no child should be held back from achievement for something that can be solved with a treatment plan, individual attention, or a different method of learning. Because of this belief, I decided to pursue degrees in art and education to become a secondary school teacher.
I have been a lifelong learner and have an extensive academic background and the knowledge of teaching history and social studies. Additionally, I continue take courses in the core subject areas, math, science, and English to expand my knowledge and provide in-depth instruction. I have traveled extensively through military service with several
When we were little we were all asked the infamous question of, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” Back in elementary school the most popular answers were teacher, fireman, and of course a superhero. As college students we are expected to know what we actually want to be, now that we are paying for courses that will give us the knowledge to excel in the field of our choosing. Some of us still want to be a teacher like we did back in the third grade but the majority of us have moved on. Personally, I want to be a Design Psychologist and to explain myself I am going to describe my interests, experiences and my personality to allow others to understand why I picked this career path.
DI would say, successfully starting over as a non traditional student is my most meaningful achievement to date. While I've achieved most, if not all, goals that I've set to carry out, Most meaningfully, coming to terms with a juvenile decision and not giving up serves as my most telling accomplishment.
As a junior in high school, I have recently become interested in psychology. While studying psychology/sociology this previous year, I have become drawn to the topic of human potential. After gathering what I have learned, it turns out most people want to live their life to the fullest by becoming all they can be. To reach this fulfillment of a higher/better self is known as self-actualization. A major problem for many people today is reaching their full potential, although the potential already lies within them. Everyone has the power to succeed and to become self-actualized. All it takes is to become an optimistic, realistic, and problem centered individual.
In 2011 I decided upon a career change away from a fast paced sales environment and towards my ambition of becoming a teacher. Since leaving school in 1997 I worked for a small family run architectural hardware company. In my final role with the company my main duties included travelling the country giving seminars to architects and building contractors. It was during the development and delivery of these seminars that I realised I had a passion for teaching. The development of my industry based presentations was thorough and took into account the differing abilities and background of my audience. With constantly shifting standards and regulations, Power Point presentations to create for each session and handouts for the individuals in attendance

On May 27, 2011, I sat in the crowd of thousands of people waiting to see the cheer from the football field. No, this wasn’t a professional football game, or even a college game. This was the graduation and commissioning of 1000 men and women from the United States Naval Academy. As the covers of all the former midshipmen went into the air, and the crowd went wild, I stood in awe, speechless. Even as an 11 year old boy, I knew that I wanted to be that young man standing on the ten yard line, in an immaculate white uniform, jumping up and down and hugging his buddy next to him. As I read stories and biographies of men like Marcus Luttrell and Chris Kyle, some of the most courageous men in the world, I realized my calling in life. I was to be an officer in the United States Navy.
This letter is being written in response to your FT R/W Support Teacher opening. I presently hold a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and I am currently pursuing a Masters’ Degree in Urban Affairs at Hunter College with an expected graduation date of 2016. Below are a few highlights of my qualifications.
Teaching had always been a passion and calling for me and the dream to study the Bachelor of Education was now put on the back burner until 2014. The opportunity to study teaching arose, I have seized and since have been working back in education. I have crossed paths with many inspiring, talented and gifted teachers and I would also like to participate and contribute to the profession of teaching. Due to my strong administrative skills and project management knowledge, I can effectively and cheerfully organise and plan programs to support the Teacher. I am proactive, and willing to assist, plan and work collaboratively with year level cohort

I have wanted to work in the medical field since I was little girl, but just recently grew sure in what I specifically wanted to do. I have chosen to pursue a career in healthcare administration. I know that that there are a lot of preparations to do to get there, but I know that I can make it. My decision to attend Kaplan University is just one of many steps to take to achieve my goal. Kaplan is going to help me to earn the degree I need, but I am the only one in control of the personality traits and skills I need to obtain the position I seek. In this paper I will address all of these things including where I see myself in 5 years.
During my second preclinical experience at Westview Hills Middle School, I learned the importance of cooperation and collaboration among teachers at a school. I was able to observe team and department meetings during this experience. It became clear that it is important for teachers to work together in order to provide a positive atmosphere at a school and in a specific department. Although it became obvious that personalities and teaching styles were different throughout the school, the teachers still acted professionally and used each other as resources in
