International relations is a prerequisite for society as it helps others understand how countries are interconnected and how global governments work together for functions to operate properly. As an A-level sociology student, the postmodern view of globalisation can be associated with international relations because it examines the increase of interconnectedness between national boundaries globally. Therefore, I wish to do a degree in international relations with a combined subject.
An international relations course combined with either sociology, politics or social anthropology fascinates me as I want to understand the political, social, economic and cultural relationships nations build. My interest for international relations came from watching documentaries based on American politics and the Arab Spring and reading blogs such as ‘The Economist’. I come from a Somali background and recently in the news they have reported that a famine has occurred in the country. The media have labelled this as one of the world’s largest humanitarian crisis in history of the UN. To be involved in making a difference, 15 secondary school pupils and I organised a food stall selling baked goods to raise money for the Somali famine. In addition, this helped developed organisation and communication skills as I experienced arranging events that were run smoothly and efficiently. Also, my communication skills were used to express my ideas and views in concerning the charity food stall. Outside
Pursing a career as a medical doctor is an opportunity for me to mentor youth in underserved populations. As a child, I was raised in the low income, urban community of Roxbury, MA. Although not as notorious today, the neighborhood had garnered negative attention for its high crime rates. My mother emigrated from Haiti and raised me as a single parent. Due to our financial circumstance, Roxbury became our permanent residence. I have always felt there was something lacking in Roxbury in comparison to other towns I visited. My teenage years were largely spent in the suburban town of Stoneham where I attended high school. There was a literal difference in air quality and a psychology contrast in future prospects. While native students of

I was born the fourth of December 1991 in Cranbrook British Columbia. I lived there for 18 years. Before joining the military I worked as a fry cook at a Burger King for three years and held part time jobs working for the College of the Rockies summer camp programs during the summer. My parents are currently living together in Cranbrook BC. My father works outside the province testing railway tracks for two months at a time, then returns home for two to three weeks. My mother acts as the main contact point of the family, she works as a financial clerk. I have a 22 year old sister who will be attending university in Calgary this September. I attended Mount Baker Secondary School in Cranbrook and graduated in 2009
Over the past few years I have discovered how deeply I want to be involved in politics and international affairs. With those goals in mind, I researched colleges with the best programs for those majors. The college that stood out to me the most was George Washington University. One of the biggest things that stood out was that there is an entire school dedicated to international affairs. This means that there is room for me to grow in any concentration I wish, with a quality staff to guide me along the way. Moreover, it is important for me to be in a diverse and understanding community so George Washington’s involvement with increasing inclusion and creating a culture of cultural empathy makes the school a great fit for me. Additionally, I
enrollment that was just 51 in 1945 has ascended to 155. This demonstrates that there is almost a triple augmentation in the number of States. Every one of the States are anxious to affirm their enthusiasm for international relations. Along these lines, worldwide relations of today are truly international in character since every one of the States demand taking an interest actively. Hence, the extension and nature of international politics has totally changed. It has turned out to be profoundly perplexing and entangled.
I have led a very unusual existence during my eighteen years of life. In these brief paragraphs, I will introduce myself and what I feel has shaped my unique personality, personal ideals and aspirations.

I am writing to apply for a Masters of Public Policy. I believe this program will provide me the opportunity and knowledge to position myself to be part of the process of how enacting and implementing policy. The recent election and the position that the incoming White House administration has taken on immigration, further confirms my belief that public policy is vital in shaping our understanding of our social systems.
My guidance strategy is to use is a corrective consequences with Sam. I will start with using a logical consequence when Sam first hits his classmate for not getting a toy. When I see Sam first hit his classmate I will go over to him get on his eye level and explain to Sam that we do not hit and if he continues to hit he will have to have to take a timeout during playtime. I will also give Sam a chance to explain himself as well. I will be clear about what is expected from him. I will not use an offensive tone with Sam.(put in book info) I want him to fully understand me so there is no confusion. The second time I see him hit his classmate I will follow through with the punishment of being sent to timeout and losing play time. I will again
I am a competitive person. I love to play sports. I play volleyball, basketball, and soccer. I enjoy playing these sports because I become part of the school's sports team and I feel connected with students, coaches, and school. I also learn how to overcome challenges, learn good sportsmanship, build sport skills, and character through coaches and teammates. A career in public service appeals to me because I believe it is my duty as a citizen to give back to the country that has given much to me. Working in public service, like John F. Kennedy stated is about asking what can you do for your country, rather than what your country can do for you. Therefore, working in public service at the Agency implies I can protect my fellow citizens, ensure that families do not have to worry about the threat of terrorism, and give back to my community for all the opportunities that I have had the privilege to experience. Working in public service means I can use my skills and connections to make sure that our nation and its citizens are safe from all enemies foreign and domestic.
When I took my USC tour before my freshman year, I fell in love with the campus and became very interested in exploring all the opportunities presented by the ambassador. I fell in love with the beauty of the Horseshoe and greatly appreciated the generosity and politeness of the people I met. I want to inspire prospective students to fall in love with USC as I did. I would also like to explore this opportunity to develop as a person and make good friends in the process. It gives me great pride to tell people I attend the University of South Carolina and cheer on my team at every football game. When people ask me why I went to school so far away, I generally stick to three answers. The weather is great, the sports are amazing, and the people who comprise the University are fantastic.
The two weeks I tracked were November 6th through the 19th. I chose those days because I was paid on the 6th, and I wouldn’t be paid again until the 20th. By choosing those dates, I was able to see how much I spent from that paycheck and how much left over I actually had. I liked being able to see how much of my paycheck was left over by the time I was paid again. I use that extra money for a buffer in case there is something I have to spend a little extra money on, and so I always have money in my bank account.
By wearing this Crest I accept the challenge of my chosen responsibility and it is the honour that I must earn every day.
