Personal Statement It 's 2:30 in the morning, and the only thing that surrounds me are the continuous sounds of dry heaves and vomit, spewing into the toilet in front of me. This is my third pregnancy. Hyperemesis Gravidarum - the diagnosis I have now heard three times. But this time, the circumstances were a bit different. Just a few short months ago, my husband and I made the decision to have my tubal ligation reversed. We had previously talked about the possibility of having more children and knew the challenges we were likely to face. But it wasn 't until my diagnosis that it became a reality that it was no longer on my time. You see, there has been a history of various cancers that have rampaged my fathers side of the family like the Black Plague. Several aunts and uncles as well as cousins and grandparents have suffered from cancers linked to Lynch Syndrome. After my fathers death, something changed inside of me. My way of thinking had been altered. I knew that I wanted to spend my life making a positive and profound difference in the lives of others, but I had yet to figure out how I would do so. I attended many colleges and worked towards degrees of many different professions. Ultimately obtaining a bachelor 's degree in business and a masters degree in education. While attending school, I held a multitude of jobs from waiting tables and working in a family practice setting, to working in education with special needs children as well as the regular classroom.
