Throughout my high school career, I have been a very dedicated student. Much like the prestigious students I surround myself with, most of my nights are spent studying for exams, completing homework assignments, writing essays, and keeping on track for the long term goal of college. My academic record does show how I am as a student in limelight. Some years my grades fall due to personal indolence. Other years my grades would be in flying colors, it was dependent on what my motivation was. I found that motivation around junior year and ended that year with a 3.79 GPA and a class rank of 40/145. Though I wish my class rank were higher, my school is a charter school so it is very competitive, even students with GPA's of above 4.00 nearly miss
Hi! Im Shelby from MMS.I am super eager to be a freshman at highschool next year but i'm also nervous. With being eager and nervous I am also really adventurous, creative, curious about how things work, and kind. I wouldnt say im the best student because I am still working on managing my time wisely. I can work well under pressure but I don't want to have to in the future.I also have to work on turning things in on time.I have to be a good example because I am the oldest of two half brothers. One goes to Kindergarten academy right now his name is Elijah. And my other half brother goes to West shore academy the private school, his name is Jackson. They are both in kindergarten.
Waking up to the smell of a traditional Dominican breakfast every day has made me appreciate where my family comes from and how hard my mother has worked to keep a roof over my head. My mother came from the Dominican Republic looking for a new beginning with only a high school degree. Through her struggles to build a better life for all of us, I have gained a deep appreciation for hard work and dedication. All her sacrifices are paying off as my sister is the first generation to graduate and I plan to follow her footsteps and achieve even more. Through my own experiences, I have learned the significance of “If you work hard enough and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to your desires”
In a few short months, I will be graduating from high school. With that comes large responsibilities to take care of my own schooling and my own needs. There will be no one there to motivate me to finish my homework or to push me to school everyday. I am in charge of myself now, and it will take some time to get used to. Going to college is a big part of 2018 for me, and I want to start the year strong. Instead of picking a resolution or goal, we picked a word that we wanted to work towards this year. My word is strive. I want to strive to do and be better than I think I can be. To make my resolution easier this year, I picked a word that I can drive towards to get me through any trials.
A decision that will last a lifetime my parents had to make was a name between Alexis and Malori. I was four days away from being Alexis. I am Malori Kristine VonTobel and active within the school. I participate in Sunshine Society, Student Council, Pep Club, Knitting Club, Drama Club, volleyball, cheerleading, and swimming. Being this active and still having time to complete my senior project shows how determined I am with anything I do.
Passion is necessary to excel. Once someone loses desire or motivation for something it becomes quite difficult to continue doing well in that field. I went through a crisis of lost motivation in my first two years of high school.
I attended Shenedehowa High school from 2011 – 2015. I graduated with an advanced regents diploma after maintaining High Honor Role status for all four years I attended. During my High School career I took mostly honors level courses as well as two Advanced Placements Courses (AP Computer Science and AP United States History).
In the summer of 2001, my friends and I was outside riding bikes when one of them took a hard fall on the concrete. My first instinct was to run over to see if she was okay. Ever since I can remember I have always wanted to help people and have always been the one to clean my friends cuts and scrapes and put their Band-Aid 's on. In middle school I was always there with a listening ear or a helping hand. At an early age I understood that sometimes people just need to be heard and to let their emotions out.
My high school involvement has been as broad and developed as i could make it thus far. Throughout my time at Putnam City North I have played football, basketball, golf, tennis, ran cross country, and am a member of the swim team. I served as class president sophomore year, and am now an executive board member of our S.U.N. (Students United (at) North) council which is a much larger, school-wide student council that caters to the entire school’s events rather than just the events of my class. I also am a junior representative officer for National Honor Society, a member of the Spanish Club, and was Putnam City North’s recipient and representative for the Hugh O’Brian award. My S.U.N. council and National Honor Society council are currently
In high school all freshman 's were taken on a trip upstate to Camp Ramapo, of course everyone was excited to go, little did we know we were all in for a surprise. Upon arrival we all realized that our cellphones had no service we all thought it would be a momentary situation, turns out it was not. We would spend 3 nights and 4 days disconnected from the world, no Facebook, at the time aim, or text messaging. I remember we were all shocked and mad at the thought of not being able to use our phones. The trip started off poorly everyone seemed disinterested in participating in activities, so the camp consolers decided that we would all break off into small groups. It all appeared to be pointless because still no one was willing to participate in the activities, but suddenly we were all asked to share our names and something interesting about ourselves. After we had all shared things changed suddenly, I personally began interacting with people who I had not spoken to at all throughout my first semester which was shocking since I had class with most of them. After the 4 days were over, I came to the realization that those had been the best days of my life. I was able to meet new people even though they weren 't necessary new in my eyes, I participated in activities I had never done before, and most of all I wasn 't so worried about who had and hadn 't texted me, or what the latest news/gossip was. It took this trip for me to realize that I was so disconnected from my
As we walk through a dark avenue at night, brother in stroller, hands locked with moms, a fragile lady approaches us. She then asks “ Les gustaria ver un apartamento vacio?”. I don't remember my mom answering, but I assume she said yes as we start walking deep into the avenue away from the trees lights. The memory is blurry and difficult to remember. Later on I would realize how important this memory is since it was the home I spent the rest of my childhood in.
A sharp murmur echoed in my ears as my pencil scribbled across my paper. I was working rapidly on my essay, attempting to perfect my edits. My pencil kept running along, and the murmur finally grew to a voice, stunting me from my progress. I finally looked up, into the face of a classmate, looking annoyed, asking, “What do we edit?”. I responded with the exact directions our teacher had given us, and went back to my writing. By the end of class, I was the only student finished with my essay, and had time left to do as I pleased. As I was getting out my headphones to watch a video or two on my phone, I heard my friend’s familiar voice, “Yeah, Bailee looks done of course. She loves work. It’s all she ever does.” I was momentarily proud of my reputation as a hard worker, until her words sank in: others thought I was a cold overachiever.
I don’t have many interesting achievements at this point in my life. I’ve never been actively involved in any clubs or sports. I’ve never had a real job or played an active role in my community. Despite my apparent laziness, I really want the next couple of years to be a learning experience that will allow me to atone for my past mistakes. My high school career is almost over, and the end came much faster than I ever expected. In the next two years I will leave my high school self behind, and try my best become a responsible adult, who is ready to face whatever challenges I may face in higher education and beyond.
The activity that has help me grow most throughout my high school career is working for my dad at his oral surgery practice, Albright, Smith, & Peck. I started working there in June of 2015 and worked until August of 2015. Right away I began to learn what life was like outside of my small world. I had always been secluded in my life whether I was at school or at home. I never really got to see what Memphis was like outside of that. I started off just watching to see what happened in the office during week my first week and a half there. Starting the Thursday of my second week, I began to get more involved with the patients and actually get to talk to them. One of my main jobs in first few weeks was to help take the patients who had just woken up from anesthesia
I am Enzo McNutt. I was born in Bellevue, WA on November 30, 1999. I am a fairly smart guy who believes in Christianity; though I grew up going to Catholic churches with my neighbors. While growing up, I lived in Renton, WA with my father and grandparents. My mom lived in Seattle and I saw her part of the week. That was back like ten years ago when I was a very young boy. Now, I live with my mom and dad an equal amount of time. I have one dog at my dad’s house and two at my mom’s. I enjoy going to school, quading, graphic design, and I am also learning how to type code. I do well in school, especially in Math, Spanish, and Art, but I have a hard time keeping all focus while doing homework. Knowing this, I always strive to do my best and push through my struggles while trying to do my homework. It has always been a goal of mine to get a 4.0 GPA. This first semester I had a 3.6, so the goal is still alive and I can achieve that goal by doing my homework. I am currently attending Sultan High School as a sophomore.
I have a talent that I am proud of that will help me get through High School and will potentially help me for my future in college and after that. The talent that I have is my skill at solving logical problems and finding tricky solutions. I believe that this is an important talent is because it helps me do better at math than some people because it allows me to think about ways I can solve problems easier. I believe that this will help me because I will be able to perform better in math allowing me to major in Mathematics so I can become a math teacher. This also allows me to perform well in Engineering because math is one of the most important tools that you will need in order to be a good engineer. Due to my impressive skills and being able
